paper as a whole or with individual employees at the paper. police say it was a targeted attack and this shooter came in around 2:30 with a shotgun and smoke grenades. walks through the first floor of this brick building behind me and went through shooting and killing 5 people injurying 2 more. the police responded in one minute. just over 60 seconds. the police were there. they went in and they were able to take the shooter into custody without firing a single shot. a horrible day, but police across the board are saying this could have been so much worse if these first responders did not respond as quickly as they did. a little more about the smart. in custody. police say they are in the process of interviewing him. he's been uncooperative. there was a press conference

half-hour ago. the deputy police chief did not confirm what i am about to tell it you. fox confirmed with a separate maryland law enforcement official they identified the gunman using facial recognition software. they had to do that because he mutilated his fingertips to make it difficult to identify him. he understand did have any i.d. on him and would not tell law enforcement what his name was. they used facial recognition software to identify him. police say he was well repaired for this attack. he had it well planned and thought it through. police are going through the process of securing his house and getting search warrants to search his property. sean, one reporter said tonight, "we are putting out a damn paper tomorrow." >> sean: premeditated evil. thanks for the report.
