paper as a whole or with individual employees at the paper. police say it was a targeted attack and this shooter came in around 2:30 with a shotgun and smoke grenades. walks through the first floor of this brick building behind me and went through shooting and killing 5 people injurying 2 more. the police responded in one minute. just over 60 seconds. the police were there. they went in and they were able to take the shooter into custody without firing a single shot. a horrible day, but police across the board are saying this could have been so much worse if these first responders did not respond as quickly as they did. a little more about the smart. in custody. police say they are in the process of interviewing him. he's been uncooperative. there was a press conference

half-hour ago. the deputy police chief did not confirm what i am about to tell it you. fox confirmed with a separate maryland law enforcement official they identified the gunman using facial recognition software. they had to do that because he mutilated his fingertips to make it difficult to identify him. he understand did have any i.d. on him and would not tell law enforcement what his name was. they used facial recognition software to identify him. police say he was well repaired for this attack. he had it well planned and thought it through. police are going through the process of securing his house and getting search warrants to search his property. sean, one reporter said tonight, "we are putting out a damn paper tomorrow." >> sean: premeditated evil. thanks for the report.

a real thank you to all of those in law enforcement. 60 seconds. you can't get a better response time. they saved a lot of lives. we turn to the opening monologue. we start with today's huge showdown on capitol hill. deputy attorney general rob rosenstein and fib directv christopher wray before the house judiciary committee where they were grilled. it was a beat down. the worst moments from the very short tempered and pompous rob rosenstein. the deputy agis obstructing the u.s. house of representatives and their subpoenas in efforts to do their constitutional duty and investigate actions by the fbi and doj. house republicans are fighting back hard. contempt and impeachment tonight is very much on the table. also tonight america's left is ramping up as i predict.

discussing rhetoric and some are trying to shutdown immigration and custom be enforcement offices across the country. others are calling the abolition of ice. many in the media, a full mental psychotic break down over the news that justice kennedy is retiring. a bad week for democrats. sit tight. we have all of this does so much more and following all of the details out of annapolis, maryland in our breaks opening monologue. for over a year house republicans have been trying to conduct what is their constitutional oversight duties and investigate how the fbi and the doj handled the clinton server investigation. and the on-going russia

collusion witch hunt and the fisa abuses. their efforts does their subpoenas, they have been met with nothing but obstruction and hatred from the deputy ag, rob rosenstein. some of these house members had a rare opportunity to hold rosenstein accountable right to his face. it started with this powerful opening statement from house judiciary committee chairman bob. >> recent general's report rerealed bias in the top of the fbi during the hotly contested presidential election. it revealed that fbi agents, lawyers and analysts held profound biases against donald trump and in favor of his opponent hillary clinton. it is right out of a novel with salacious unverified dossiers and informants that appear more like spies for the u.s.

government and surveillance powers to collect on a u.s. person associated with president trump's political campaign. it's not a novel. it's real life. >> sean: next the ill tempered rob rosenstein who doesn't like me, you can't imagine why. he was grilled by the ohio congressman jim jordan over rosenstein's effort to hide important information from house investigators. there is their constitutional job. oversight and separation of powers. co-equal branches of government. look at this tense exchange. >> why are you keeping information from congress? >> i am not keeping any information from congress. >> mr. rosenstein, the house of representatives would say something different. >> i don't agree with you. i don't believe that's what they will say. >> i think in a few minutes the house of representatives will go on record saying you have not complied with requests from

a separate and equal branch of government. you have not complied with subpoenas. you have 7 days to get your act together. that's not jim jordan. i think that's the majority of the house of representatives. in just a few minutes i think that will happen. i don't know why you won't give us what you ask for. >> i hope your colleagues are not under that impression. that's not acerality. >> it is accurate. >> mr. chairman, allow the witness to answer. >> sean: the house did , in fact pass a resolution demanding that rosenstein comply with the document requests in 7 days or they do face the possibility first of contempt and even impeachment. the president can demand everything be handed over and that will be a matter of law. in terms of the president having that power. one issue at play. the house investigation into possible coordination between the clinton campaign and the

fbi's initiation of that trump russia witch hunt. one of the small part of the scandal surrounds bruce does nellie in 2016. nellie was conducting research for the clinton campaign. remember fusion gps with christopher steele. all while her husband bruce, a high ranking doj official was the federal government's point of contact for the same christopher steele. rob rosenstein is saying he was totally unaware of the connection. really? i don't believe that. take a look. >> you said earlier, bruce orwas not working on the russia investigation. >> to my knowledge. >> did you not know that bruce orwas meeting with christopher steele, getting the information

about the dossier and supplying that information to the fbi at the same time his wife was working with fusion gps who was helping hillary clinton. you did not know he was doing that for the fbi? >> correct. >> he officed a couple of doors down but you had no idea he was the go between to get that information? >> sean: another key question asked by florida congressman desantis: why hasn't rob rosenstein rescued himself from the mueller witch hunt? a lot of what you are hearing should be recognizable to you. we have been reporting this for a long time. it was all true. take a look. >> you appointed mueller. you are supervising mueller. and collusion between trump's campaign and russia and obstruction of justice, but you

wrote the memo saying comey should be fired and signed the fisa extension for carter page. so you should be rescued more than jeff sessions because you made decisions affecting both prongs of this investigation. why haven't you done that? >> i can assure you, if were appropriate for me to recuse i would be more than happy. but it's my responsibility to do it. >> then how do you have obstruction of justice possibility for a president exercising his powers to fire an fbi director that you said should be fired? and jim comey should have been fired. why are we still doing this with the mueller probe? >> sir, i am not commenting on what is under investigation by the mueller probe. neither is mr. mueller. >> sean: 407 long days into mueller's fishing expedition. congress gowdy confronting rob rosenstein with what we have all

been thinking. watch this from today. >> russia attackeded this country. they should be the target. russia is not hurt by it investigation. we are. this country is being hurt by. it we are being divided. we have seen the bias. we have seen the bias. we need to see the evidence. if you have evidence of wrongdoing by any member of the trump campaign, present to the damn grand jury! if you have evidence that this president acted inappropriately, present it to the american people. there is an old saying that justice delayed is justice denied. we are all being denied. whatever you've got finish it the hell up. this country is being torn apart. >> sean: that's right. mueller and weissman. are you watching what you are

doing to the country? rob rosenstein, when does this witch hunt end? rod rosenstein it's your constitutional duty to provide congress with the information they need to do their job and check your department. in 7 days from today, if the doj continues this obstruction, i urge every member of the house to take action to move to contempt and yes impeachment. enough is enough. gowdy was right. many democrats are fine with the doj obstruction. their friends in the deep state have a lot to hide. robert mueller's witch hunt has produced zero evidence that the president did anything wrong. the people on the left are beginning to unravel. their favorite new target: the u.s. immigration and custom enforcement agency doing the job

that congress passed. throughout the week hundreds of left wing protestors occupied ice offices forcing some to temporarily close their doors. the demonstrators blocked entrances and attempted to campout in front of the building. the hill reported many protestors celebrated the news that their occupation prompted delays in operations at the center. this may result in some immigrants being detained for weeks longer than expected. great job. this ended today in washington, d.c. where 575 people were arrested after storming the senate building. lawmakers were in attendance including one congressman from washington who was arrested. this anti-ice rhetoric from the left on tv is even far worse. watch this. >> i think there is no question that we have to re-examine ice

if you look at the ig report and what happened today on capitol hill and now he avoided questions. greg is 100% right. i spoke to similar sources who were in the back room meetings. >> sean: i spoke to one person too that was the victim of a temper tantrum. >> absolutely. >> sean: a direct conversation that was relayed to me. >> rod rosenstein lied to congress and to the american people. we have to call a spade a spade. if you look at the ig report, toped go back to that. peter strzok himself. talking to sources tonight. there is one point where strzok tries to explain the injuries policy question. in august that text message that he sent to lisa page about having an insurance policy and talking to mccabe. he said we were talking about how aggressive we were going to be with this investigation. when i talked to fbi sources

about that, they said that is so telling. at that moment this time, when he let that out to horowitz does made that statement, he was saying we are going after trump. even if it means going after the people around him. even it means putting dis-information out in the media or arresting people for crimes that were committed 10 years ago or not even crimes. but just giving that aura around the president. the chaos has been the fbi and the people on the seventh floor and the doj and not the russians anymore. the real chaos is coming from. >> sean: rosenstein said i am not trying to hide anything. i made a short list. will stop trump. hid that from everybody. he with held the fact that strzok was a personal friend of judge contrueras.

he begged paul ryan not to release the memo about fisa abuse. the doj tried to hide from congress 2 it of the most important investigators on the hillary clinton and anti-trump probe. he didn't want that out either. and the inspector general that released the strzok page texts. that's only a short list. >> what did rosenstein say about the behavior of peter strzok? he called it inappropriate which has to be the most colossal under-statement of all time. when you consider the ig said this man had a willingness to abuse his position of power to influence an election. but to rod rosenstein, oh, it's just inappropriate. >> sean: the things that stand out. all three of us talked to at

least one person. sarah carter, how much sources do you have about his temper and he made the threat he denied today? >> i have at least four sources. >> sean: you are working harder than greg and i. his refusal to recuse himself. and strzok's actions, highly inappropriate? no, that would be rigging an investigation to influence the presidential election and trying to clear hillary clinton and frame trump. that's what happened. >> rosenstein said today if it's appropriate i will recuse himself. it was appropriate a long time ago. he is a witness, investigators, prosecutor, judge, and jury all rolled into one. supervising the prosecution and the judge and jury because he decides whether any charges would be brought. >> sean: why is he only mad at

now they oppose it in mid-term elections. forget about schumer and the democrats. let us uphold our constitution. the president understands that. he ran for office and had a list. hillary clinton didn't have a list. the nation would have puked frankly. but this president had a list. he has tremendous candidates on this list. he said i will choose from this list. the left had every opportunity to dig up whatever they can on these candidates and the president is sticking to the list. this is very, very important. the supreme court is not supposed to be more powerful than the other 2 branches of government. it's supposed to be independent. justices are appointed for life. it's gotten way out of whack. under the left it will be more out of whack. the attitudes of the progressives who used to attack

the constitution as written by a bunch of white men who owned slave. now they pretend to support it. the position of the left: they want to enshrine their idealogy into the constitution. when they say support precedent, they don't believe that. dread scott upholding slavery was president. segregation was precedent. no, what they mean is the most radical decision of the supreme court that's what i believe in. not the constitution. but the leftist direction that the courts have taken the constitution. >> sean: you wrote "men in black." >> in 2005, i think. >> sean: one of the reasons we game friends and i think we went into this a little bit. mark, we became friends because of issues. i will tell a little bit of the
