this is the homeland security's major enforcement arm, let's not forget that democrats have decided to dash leftward and endorse her idea. >> we believe that we should protect families that need our help. that's not what ice is doing today. t that's why i believe you should get rid of it, start over, reimagine it and build something that actually works. >> look at ice.an what a group of incompetence! at this point, they're focused more on toddlers than terrorists. instead of focusing on stopping bad guys from coming in and stopping c dirty drug money from going out, they're focusing on separating kids from their families. >> hey, dick, the policy didn't exist any longer, but any way, ice doesn't separate kids at the border. like of the protesters surrounding durbin, it seems like they all confuse ice with customs and border protection. it's border control, border patrol that arrests illegals at the border and runs them through

processing. ice is the law enforcement agency that was set up, you'll remember, after 9/11 to protect us from international security threats, particularly those posed by people in the on country illegally. so how ironic is it that four new new york politicians, senator jillbrand, mayor de blasio and gubernatorial sixthia nixon andd congressional candidate cortez are now leading the abolish ice movement charge? nifty. well, the problem for all of them is that the people just aren't buying this the latest harvard harris poll shows that while 88% believe that families who cross the border illegally should not be separated, 76% want secure borders. 53% believe we should prosecute those entering the country illegally while 64% agree that you should send the border crossers back home. but no matter where they stand on the nuances of immigration

policy a whopping 70% want stricter enforcement of existing immigration lawser. so how are you going to do that exactly if you abolish the agency that is charged with investigating human trafficking, drug and weapons -- drug smuggling, weapons smuggling? ice is the agency that also tracks down criminal, illegal immigrants and then they remove them from the country. democrats claim they're for that, so if criminals make it over the border, are we just to let them maraud across country? good look at turning that onto a platform that actually wins votes. >> you get rid of ice, you're going to have a country that you're going to be afraid to walk out i of your house. i love that issue if they're going to actually do that. they're seriously talking about that? because you're going to have a that's crime-ridden. the border patrol, the border patrol agents b, ice, these peoe are incredible. >> laura: the president
11:07 pm
understands the political calculus here and his zero tolerance policy, remember, it brought border arrests in june down to their lowest level since february, according to the a.p. that was the story, but if democrats think melting downhe a national law enforcement agency with 20,000 employees that's working to keep americans safe in communities all across the u.s. is a solution, i think they have another thing coming. it not only sounds like an idea you'd hear at some undergrad student center over some ben & jerry's, it's also dangerous. the democrats push to abolish ice. it's as off key as the entertainment of some of their big rallies over the weekend. >> i'm just going to sing a lullaby that i wrote and this is for those parents. and we're not going to stop until theyey can sing them to their kid again. >> we treat asylum seekers with compassion. we don't seek to punish them for trying to do what is right for

the obama era and the party it leftd behind always prized style over experience and result. and now, a new generation of inspires -- inexperience charismatic leftists are moving to the fore of the party giving speeches and leading marches and resisting trump. but original thinking and a governing strategy continues to elude them. with every tack to the left, they merely estrangee themselves from the vast middle and working class of this country, catering only to the progressive elites in manhattan and malibu. should this continue come november, well, voters, even democratic ones, may be pulling the lever to abolish the democrats and that's "the angle." joining us now with reaction is democratic congressman from illinois, raja, former pennsylvania congressman and democrat, jason altmeyer, and

think they need.y democrats learned in the 2016 election that there's a voice not t being heard. rather than trying to move to the v center to gather and get e votes of people who clearly were on a completely different plane, those are the trump voters, because you can't attract those voters, that we have to stick to our principles.s, our principles are making america a place for everyone to live. a place that's got humanity and care that includes health care and sound immigration policy that's fair, right, just and humane. that goes across the board. >> laura: the polls aren't showing that, miss jones. i hear what you're saying and i think you're doing the best you can under the circumstances but the polls aren't bearing that out. most people believe ift you come into the country illegally, it's sad when your family gets separated, no one wants to see that, but it's your responsibility. you made a decision to cross the border. you didn't go through a normal port of entry. now you're complaining america doesn't have a heart -- which is what one woman did today that was reunited with her daughter. it's nice she was reunited, but

they're for certain that happening. listen, guys, again, the whole democrats' whole platform, as far as i can tell to reach voters is resist trump and family separation policy that doesn't exist that's getting fixed and abolish ice. those are -- that's like the main deal that's getting all the media coverage. again, miss jones, i want to go back to you. you have to win pennsylvania. you have to win ohio. you have to win wisconsin. you have to win florida. itis might work in the bronx or work in brooklyn or work in malibu or brentwood or even madison, wisconsin, but the vast majority of americans in those heartland states, that's not what they're worried about. they want breadte and butter issues. your reaction. >> that's true. those folks in the heartland of america should know that in trump's first three months of being president, he cut so many programs and federal programs that included urban and rural business opportunities, water opportunities, so if we're worried about cutting federal

work with the lawyer. >> seriously, chris ithought better than you! i mean it! is this seriously going to be the new liberal take? please, don't embarrass yourself in the media by continuing to say this. if you didn't do anything y wro, you have nothing to worry about. are you serious? >> yeah. >> i'm going to stick a cop on one of your houses -- hear me out here. >> i'm sure you defended -- i'm sure you defended -- [ indiscernible ] with the same thing. >> people like you say that. no. no. no. don't distract. people like you say that because you've never been a police officer or a federal agent like i have, andnd you don't understd the awesome power to ruin someone's life -- listen to me! >> laura: ham sandwich guy. >> you have never done it you have never once put handcuffs on people. not one time. dis.ura: somehow [ everyone speaking at once ] >> that's a standard. chris, i'm sorry. i'm sorry. i'm sorry. i'm an attorney, you're a criminal -- i know the awesome
11:41 pm
power. [ everyone speaking at once ] >> you don't know squat. you've never done that. >> laura: guys, guys! >> the president is not going to be on the street with no lawyer. this is a very wealthy man. >> laura: guys. stop! stop! stop! stop! americans across the country are like -- stop for a second. you're both very passionate about this, but i think the point is in civil libertarians on the left used to really care about this. there's only like three i can think of right now, and two are people i know closely, whether it's derrishwitz or a few others, -- dershowitz or a few others used to care about the unbridled power of prosecutors. ier was a criminal defense attorney. i know, chris, you're an attorney and dealt with criminal matters. it is ai serious, awesome powe. the problem here is -- >> it is. it is! >> the problem here is it started as russia collusion and now we're at c michael cohen isa fixer and we're going to take all of his computers and phones and turn the screws on him so he's worried he's not going to
11:42 pm
see his children and his wife for 20 years.. that's where we ended up and i don't think that's where the country ever understood that special pressure on -- special prosecutor to end up through the side channels to end up on the southern district. i don't think that's what people expected. that's not what the special prosecutor statute really was going to be all about. >> you can close it out. >> michael cohen didn't want to comment on the russia collusion thing he did say he suspected the investigation that mueller was doing, and he wouldn't comment on that russian meeting at the trump tower. so, look, we don't know what's going to happen. i hope nothing bad happened. i don't want to think our president committed any crime. but let's get to the bottom of it and end it! >> laura: ok, so we went from russia collusion, the election tampering to a stripper/porn star who is cashing in on her 15 minutes of fame and michael cohen and some check someone wrote it cover -- i mean -- it's
11:43 pm
-- a again, starting off started really nefarious with russian colpollution and now we're here and a lot of money -- collusion and now we're here and a lot of money and time has been spent. all right, guys -- >> you're investigating trump. >> laura: they're investigating one man. road kill or -- the carnage on the -- you know, the side of the street are people like cohen which c is a sad thing. guys, it's great to speak with both of you. >> follow the evidence where it leads. >> laura: it's a new low to the left. horrific holocaust insult getting lobbed at ben shapiro. ben joins us to respond next.
11:45 pm
11:46 pm
that helps other jews out of the train." she now deleted the tweet in a follow-up, he tweeted, "i deleted it because a mob on the right -- of a the right wing babies who were flooding my mentions and it was frankly pretty annoying as were the dm death threats." joining us now to respond is the daily wire's ben shapiro. ben, we're always talking to when the left is unhinged and you have a special way of unhinging them, but this was really -- i mean, i keep saying a new low but this really is a new low. i've never heard of this person before, but i guess he's kind of big in the tech world. where are we here? >> i've been called worse by better. that's the way things go these days. he said he worked over at fox. it turns out he wasn't a co-founder of vox.
11:47 pm
if it was vox, vox isn't sending their best. >> we have an individual that works for this tech site saying something who was san observant -- who is an observant jew is putting other jews on the train meaning the trump train and can't ever look passed that. i think he's jewish as well but coming from him who i believe is jewish, is that -- have any special significance to you? is it a self-clothing deal? what is -- self-loathing deal? what is it? >> the way the left works these days, anyone who disagrees with them is a nazi. it's's not a giant surprise. i really find is it a sur-- i really find it a surprise that they do that. >> laura: ben, others on the left haveth gone from their never-trump mania to just, you know, completely out of touch with the reality of politics
11:48 pm
today. one of o them is a -- i guess a blogger for "the washington post" who is on television quite a bit. her name is jennifer reuben. let's watch. >> huckaby has no right to live a life of no fuss, no mush after inciting against the press. these people should be made uncomfortable. i think that's a life sentence frankly. >> laura: you should be made uncomfortable for life, to be a life sentence. do you notice the words that the left and the never-trump -- i don't know republican or bush -- you know, bush bird -- you i've no idea how you describe her, because there's literally no constituency except for bill crystal for what she says, but they've now used this criminal imagery. trump is jailing babies. they're criminalizing parenthood with the separation of families. the concentration camps, all the -- you know, the detention centers or concentration camps.
11:49 pm
it's all -- it's beyond descriptive. it's descriptive in the criminal over the top purposefully outrageous manner. what of that now, coming from, you know, i guess a former republican? >> yeah, i mean, she's obviously engaged in the endorsement of trump tactics. this is the desperation to which the left and some people formally of the right have been driven. jen reuben endorsed mitt romney and pushed hard for mitt romneya a few days ago, she was suggesting roe v wade needs to be overturned. now she's suggesting any judge appointed by president trump shouldn't t overturn roe v wade. a lot of people reversed principles theyhe supposedly one held specifically because they don't like donald trump. i find that puzzling. when you look at jen reuben saying stuff that sarah huckaby sanders doesn't have a right to be comfortable in the united states. she's got the right to basically not be mobbed when she goes out to t a gas station or to eat
11:50 pm
dinner remember bake the cake to religious bakers are saying it's a wonderful thing when a restaurant owner decides to deny service to someone based political affinity. people on the left have gone further than that. they're not talking about restaurant owners not wanting trump employees in their establishment but they're talking about how it's ok for mobs to drive people out of establishments. that's what happened to christian nielsen. the level of insanity to which the left evolves every day is a testament to how much president trump is in their heads and testament to how their utopian idealism over president obama has further collapsed. >> laura: the farther left they go, the higher his numbers seem go. they don't see the correlation. perhaps they'll be -- saner minds will prevail. happy independence day, bent thank you for being here tonight -- ben. thank you for being here tonight. a wild story out of colorado to bring you tonight. tens of thousands of acres burning 98 case of arson.. the shocking revelation of who was blind it next. behind it.
11:53 pm
11:54 pm
53,000 precious acres of land. jeffrey jorgenson whose nationality was danish according to the "denver post" was nabbed by the police department and will be handed over to ice. don't they want to abolish ice? maybe they -- and, of course that agency assisted in tracking him down as well. yeah, they're largely responsible for bringing this man to justice, going back to what we said on "the angle." to discuss, we're joined by colorado state senator larry corroder who -- crowder who represents the county. it's great to see you in a very difficult situation for you in colorado. >> it is. you know, right now, we've had a confirmed house loss of 104. they're just letting people go into their property to evaluate and it's just a small percentage of the ache grand jury. we don't know exactly what the
11:55 pm
total loss will be at this point in time but it's been confirmed 104 houses have been totally burnt. i've seen pictures of the. >> laura:ur it's a heartbreak. i don't mean to interrupt you but we have limited time. >> i understand. >> laura: it's horrific! it's horrific! >> it is. >> laura: it's a loss of property, of wildlife, of habitat. but we find out -- >> without a doubt, plus -- >> laura:: senator, we find out an illegal immigrant has been charged with this. this after we've had a weekend of protests to abolish ice which is largely responsible for nabbing him and getting him into custody. your reaction to that aspect of this horrific story? >> you know, right now we've had a stage 2 under fema. no outside fires, so whether or not it was intentional or whether it was an accident, it's still a situation where it
11:56 pm
shouldn't have been outside fires exposed. it is horrific and currently, we reported a 5% containment and the biggest thing with that is our winds have died down considerably today. but i think that -- >> laura: yeah, well, here's the problem, he shouldn't have been in the country. i know you're trying to dance around that. >> no i'm not dancing around it. no. >>'m laura: he shouldn't have been in the country, senator. he shouldn't have been here! period. >> that's correct, but if you look at his facebook page, the anarchy that he has professed over a period of time shows you that basically -- yeah, you know, i would like to see this individual deported right away! >> laura: no, well, there are a lot of people who believe that ice should be abolished and the democrat party, major figures who are going to run for president, kirsten gillbrand want ice abolished. they found this guy, nabbed him at least and want to get him in
11:57 pm
custody out and country, -- and out of the country we hope. >> the federal government is responsible for our borders, so ice shouldn't be abolished. ice is a legal procedure that we go through. so i -- you know, i -- i -- i -- i thought it was comical people want to do away with ice. you know, it's about protecting this country. that's what it's about. >> laura: yeah, well 37% of your state is now immigrant population. a very large illegal immigrant population in your state. people think it's all great to have all of these ilgrille immigrants. well, sometimes we see -- illegal immigrants. well, sometimes we see what happens. thank you so much.u our prayers are with you and all thee citizensou of colorado. we'll be right back.
