>> tucker: this is about the complete denuclearization of the entire peninsula? >> without that, we could not have a deal. we want to denuke the entire peninsula and denuke that whole situation. that's a hot bed. you know what has been happening for years. nobody did anything about it. you have to. we have no choice. we had to. the relationship was really good. it built. i talked about early on in the relationship and the feeling, well, we had a very good feel right from the beginning. we were able to get something very important done. some things happened after that, sean, where we are getting rid of certain missiles research areas and missiles testing sites. they are getting rid of a lot. >> tucker: this was amazing. a lot happened. he dismantled a nuclear test

sight does crossed over the dmz. you would not have come here if he was not willing to talk about denuclearization. >> that's right. >> tucker: all of that happened before you walked in. i don't remember that you sent cargo planes or cash or gave anything. why do you think he is interested in doing this? >> i noticed some of the press. i am not knocking them. honestly they are treating me good on this subject. what is to treat badly. some of the press would say he is meeting with them does therefore he has a major loss. since when? others wanted to and it probably could never have worked out. we have not seen missiles going up in 7 or 8 months. you have not seen research. you have not see nuclear tests. japan is happy because they were

encircled. they were going right over the middle of japan. we got our hostages back. we didn't pay for that. i don't say that bragging because he did such a smart thing. that was a good thing to do. i feel so badly about otto warmbier. that was the one thing. he did not die in vein. i have gotten friendly with his parents. they are incredible people. devastated. he was a great young man. i think without otto warmbier this would have not have happened. when he came back in that condition, it christalized it. he did not die in vein. >> tucker: i have been known you for several yearses.

one trait is brutal honesty. alone in the room, how honest and brutal? bring people into the room. >> we got along very well. we got along from the beginning. we started off, he and myself and 2 interpreters. i made the statement and i said it about a lot of different kinds of relationships. you can tell at the beginning. >> tucker: could you tell at the beginning? >> i felt very good at the beginning. we have to denuke. this country has to be denuked. he understood that. we were doing great things and south korea and japan will be involved and president xi of china is terrific on the border. >> sean: is that a big part? your meetings when you met with the president of china were

schedule for 15 minutes. didn't some go on for 4 hours? >> we met at mar-a-lago. he wanted to be at mar-a-lago. we had a 15 minute meeting schedule. we were going into break out rooms where we had many people waiting for us. it lasted 4 hours. 15 minutes the president of china a great guy, it ended up last for 4 hours. we just got along. we have gotten along. i want him to treat us better on trade. that's my only problem. >> sean: didn't they make concessions? >> well, they want to do things. it's a tough thing. they are doing so well. they made so much progress against us for so many years. it's tough for them to bring it back. we will see how that works out. we will do something. they offered us 80 billion dollars in purchases of agricult ural products. i never thought i would turn down 80 billion dollars. we have to do something with

intelligent property. last year we lost $500 billion with china. we can't do that anymore. >> sean: let's go to the beginning. a lot of people, critics, saying, when you said little rocket man or "fire and fury" or when he said i have a red button on my desk. you said mine is bigger and works better than yours. how did it evolve from that to this? because he did say at the very beginning, we are going to basically start over. but that has been building behind the sequence? >> without the rhetoric we would not be here. we did the sanctions. other administrations, i don't want to get specific, they had a policy of silence. if they said something very bad and threatening and horrible, just don't answer.

that's not the answer. that's not what you have to do. i think the rhetoric, i hateed to do it. sometimes i felt foolish doing it, but we had no choice. >> sean: strategically you were doing? >> yes, and he gained respect. he is a strong guy. people said what is he like? he has a very good personality. he is funny and he very, very smart. he is a great negotiator. he is a very strategic guy. >> sean: the thing that surprised everybody. every american should be very happy about this: the korean war which went on for so long. there are still american remains there? >> that's right. the remains are coming back. we got that at the end. we have some things you don't have in the report. >> sean: tell us. >> missiles sites that they used for the launching of missiles

and missiles research areas. that's going to be gone. we pedestrian a lot of progress. a tremendous amount of progress. one thing i am happy about, we won't play war games anymore. you know how expensive that is? bringing practice in from guam. it's 6.5. that's a long way for a big bomber times 20 and lots of other pliance coming in. we don't be doing the war games as long as we are negotiateing in good faith. that's good for a number oferancy. we save a tremendous amount of money. you hate to sound like a pure businessman. i kept saying, what is this cost something i would look at them coming in from the see and bombs exploding. what does this cost? i don't want to tell you, but it's a lot. as long as we are negotiating in good faith, when i think we will be. >> sean: you managed expectations well.

you didn't think coming in you would sign an agreement. you said it might take 3 to 5 meetings but you were open to going as slow or fast as he wanted. >> we got along better than i ever assumed. we got a lot more done today than i ever thought possible. he is going back. he wants to get it done. you hear the whole thing about his father and other administrations or his grandfather. he brings that up. but they were not dealing with me. they were dealing with different people. >> sea >> sean: did he talk about the difference between past administrations and yours? >> yes, i don't want to say. that i am sure he will say it. they were never this close. never to this point. >> sean: is there a history lesson to learn here? we could talk about past administrations. reagan evil empire.

gorbachev tear down this wall. his own advisors wanted to take those words out of that speech. and bill clinton gave kim jong-un's father $3 billion in energy subsidies. >> a tremendous amount of money. >> sean: iran you said the worst deal in the history of mankind. >> worse than nafta and it's bad. worse than the wto, the world trade organization when billinged china in addition the money we gave them. these were terrible deals. the iran deal was one of the worst i have ever seen. i will say, speak of the iran deal, since we got out of that deal does we could do it easily because it was never approved by congress. i want it to be approved by congress. otherwise it doesn't mean much. i would think anybody would want it approved by cong -- cong.

congress since we got out of that deal iran is a much different place. i don't think they are looking so much syria and yemin. they are pulling people out of there. i did it for nuclear. one of the side benefits, you take a serious look and iran was not the country they were 4 months ago when they were emboldened. >> sean: sanctions played a big part? >> a big part. i know many people from iran. they are great peoplist believe at some point they will come back and want to negotiate a deal. >> sean: did reunification or humanitarian issues come up? >> yes, it did. one thing i am most happy about and it a big sticking point is bringing back the remains of thousands of soldiers that were killed. >> sean: this came up last-minute? >> this was sort of last-minute.

would it be possible? i get letters all the time from families who lost a son or a brother or a father in korea. that was a rough fight. that you were buried along the roadways. going back and forth in battle. they said please could you do it? i get so many letters from people who lost a loved one in north korea. i would say, i am going to try. it was almost immediate. in the past you could not even talk about it. but it was a nice response. >> sean: how quickly did you talk about a trip to the united states? >> i think at the right time he will absolutely be coming to the white house. it's been an intense relationship. it's short does intense. before that it was pretty rhetorical. this was not a pretty thing.

porp were worried. without that i don't think we would be here today. he wants to get something done. i want to get something done. we started off with a strong document. i think people are shocked to see. it add some more things that we got after it was signed. >> sean: you can give us a glimpse that you refer to things that will be coming? >> so, i just think we are now going to start the process of the denuclearization of north korea. i believe that he is going back and will start it immediately. he already indicated that. you look at what he's done. we got our hostages back. they have blown up their primary testing site and some people say their only testing site. getting rid of a missively. that was not in the document. that was donewards.

they are doing so much now. it's a process and moving rapidly. >> sean: last question. i know you have a lot to do. he wants something on his end. he wants the sanctions lifted and economic opportunity does his people need it desperately. people are starving there. the question is: what would he have to do to get the sanctions lifted to get the economic opportunity opened up for the people? >> well, what he wants is security. he will get that. he wants to see if they can make that incredible location between china and south korea. i am in the real estate business. how good of a location is that? you have china and you have south korea. he is right in the middle of both of them surrounded by water. could there be anything better than that. it's also beautiful, incredible

land. i told him about that today. i think he understands that. >> sean: the chinese and south korea, are they involved? >> i think so. china can't be thrilled about a strong group of people with nuclear capabilities right next to them. they were very, very helpful. less so in the last 2 or 3 months because we were talking about trade and other things. nothing will interfere with my relationship with president xi. i have great respect for him. he is a great man. >> sean: that's one of the best stories you tell and interesting historically speaking. you had dessert with him? >> that's right in mar-a-lago chocolate cake. >> sean: this was after someone

launched chemical weapons against his own people. >> i said we just sent 58 missiles. to show you the technology. every missile, 58 missiles and 58 hits. it's so lethal. not that we want to do it. that was because syria used chemical weapons on children. we had to do that. president obama gone over the redline, you think you maybe would have a different story in the middle east. he didn't do that, but we did. i told him sitting at mar-a-lago at dinner. >> sean: eating chocolate cake. >> either he will leave or we will still be friend. he did not leave. he understood. he doesn't want to see that. >> sean: he agreed? >> i think he did. he knew a lot of people and a

have campaigned on. this i went out during the campaigns and you know because i was in minnesota a lot. one more trip. that won't happen again. >> [cheers and applause]. >> but one that is really important to me. i used to say to myself: i wonder why doctors don't just take care of our great vets. we just passed veteran choice legislation. it was passed and signed. that gives our veterans the care they deserve. the care they earned. now look, our veterans were waiting in line for 9 days, per 12 days, for 3 weeks. someone with a minor problem. they ended up having a terminal disease. now i said during the campaign, before i knew too much about it, but there is a lot of common

opening up 6 plants through expansion. i was in south carolina the other night where, by the way, a great candidate won easily. our track record is extraordinarily good. that's why i. here for kevin. that's why. >> [cheers and applause]. >> that's why i. here. i'm here. they have a steel company called georgetown. it's been closed for 4 years. they announced the day before i got into south carolina that georgetown steel is reopening and hiring 600 people. >> [cheers and applause]. >> not so complicated. we put tariffs on solar panels because china was flooding the market. it was not good stuff. we had 32 plants. two were open and they were barely breathing. they were in mouth to mouth

resuscitation. we put a 30% tax on solar panels come into united states. now those 2 plants are doing great. they are talking about opening 10 to 12 and they will probably have them all open very soon. they will make high quality panels and a lot of jobs? >> we are creating jobs, number 1, and taking in billion dollars into our coffers. there was a time when we had tariffs because you had presidents like president mckinley does roosevelt and others. who liked the idea of foreign countries with they come in and want to take our wealth, they have to pay for it. they don't take it. on top of everything else, at a take our wealth and we protect them with our military. we protect everybody!

we get it every which way. we want to justice tell those people, number 1, we created a lot of jobs. number 2, we are taking in billion dollars -- look at the steel. a 25% tariff. we are taking in billion dollars creating jobs. and you know what? even if it wasn't perfect, we need the steel industry. we were going to have no steel plants. if something ever happened, you know what i am talking about, and we needed steel to make that something, we would not be able to make steel. there are some industries -- steel and aluminum -- we have to have it. we the jobs. we have a vibrant industry. the head of u.s. steal called me the other day. he said mr. president, i would like to thank you.

i have never seen anything like. it we have not opened a new plant in 32 years. now we are opening up 7. >> [cheers and applause]. >> 6 extensions and we will build a new one. that's just one company. >> [cheers and applause]. >> the heritage foundation reported that in just the first 500 days of our presidency, not mine -- it's our presidency. let's face it. >> [cheers and applause]. >> you are the ones that did it. you are the ones that did it. although i have been a good student. i told john and i told the whole group, we had a group of politicians. some of them have been congressman for 30 years. they are asking me questions about politics. i have only been doing this for 2.5 years. don't ask me a question like that. but we have been good students. haven't we all together?

the heritage foundation came out with a report as of 2 months ago we implemented 64% of our top agenda items. that's a much faster pace than even ronald reagan. that's pretty good, right. >> [cheers and applause]. >> you don't hear this from the fake news. we created 3.4-million new jobs since election day. 3.4. >> [cheers and applause]. >> unemployment. think of this one. unemployment claims are at a 45-year low. it's going to 63 i believe probably next month. african-american unemployment is at its lowest level in the history of our country. >> [cheers and applause].

>> hispanic-american unemployment also is at the lost point in the history of our country. >> [cheers and applause]. >> unemployment among women, women! >> [cheers and applause]. >> remember we were going to do so poorly with women. look at all of the women here tonight. women for trump. >> [cheers and applause]. >> they never take those cameras off my face. look at all the woman. we were going to do so poorly with women. we did great with the women. i would not be standing here. >> [cheers and applause]. >> my wife said you will do great with the women. it's hard to believe it, though, with the kind of press we get. do you agree? you know what?

they are so smart. when they hear those numbers, they are happy. and when you hear the numbers -- i used to read the horrible statisticses on crime and education and how badly people are being treated in the hispanic communities and in african-american communities. you have voted for democrats for 100 years. look at my friends right there. >> [crowd noise]. >> great guys. >> [crowd noise]. >> my friends, thank you. you have these horrible, horrible statistics for years on crime and the educational abuse does all of the things. i am reading them point after point. i am seeing them. i look out at the audience.

for 100 years, i said democrats felt they had the automatic vote. i said what the hell do you have to lose? vote for me. what do you have to lose? >> [cheers and applause]. >> what do you have to lose? >> [cheers and applause]. >> i came off the stage. i will never forget. it the first time i just said it. i didn't care. i came off the stage and my political advisor said that's a horrible thing to say. but it's true. what the hell do you have to lose. now i just said african-american unemployment is at the lowest level in history. >> [cheers and applause]. >> very encouraging. thank you. thank you. >> [cheers and applause]. >> thank you very much. thank you. so, we keep going.

after months of preditions that a trump presidency would lead this country in ruins. the world is seeing serious progress u.n. inspectors the president's leadership. impending talks with north korea's president days away to talk about the denuclearization of north korea. kim jong-un halted all missiles toasts. no missiles fireded over japan. destroyed a nuclear test sites. 3 american hostages remember returned and walked over into the arms of the south korea president. not a dime paid like with obama or clinton. 3 north korea general managers were fired by kim jong-un.

a sign of his commitment to serious reform. we have seen so many great developments. we don't have time to list. look at the side of your screen. the unemployment rate and unprecedented 3.8%. the lowest in 50 years. america, we have african-americans all time low unemployment rate. the same with hispanic americans and women in the workplace. 14 state record lows in unemployment. consumer confidence. 17 year high. after passing a historic 3.7-trillion dollars tax cuts and cutting 22 regulations for every new one enacted. even the "new york times" writing we ran out of words to describe how good these job members are. fake news cnn had to report that the unemployment rate matched its lowest point in half a century. the president kept his programs.
