tv Justice With Judge Jeanine FOX News July 14, 2018 6:00pm-7:00pm PDT
6:00 pm
s up next and remember i'm watters and this is my world. [♪] [♪] judge jeanine: hello and welcome to justice, i'm jeanine pirro. thanks for being with us tonight and thank you for once again making justice number one last weekend. we have a packed show, congressman darrell issa, mike huckabee and mercedes schlapp standing by. a fired up panel, candace owens is here with the most outrageous comments of the week. but first my opening statement. the man leading the fbi's investigation into hillary clinton's use of a personal email server and russian interest force in the 2016 election testified before
6:01 pm
congress this week. agent peter strzok the personification of the righteous left thinking they know better than the rest of us was a composite of pompous arrogance, indignant. sarcastic. smug, condescending. defiant and unapologetic. strzok seems to share cardinal comey's affectation of being a selfless servant of the people though he seems to hold all in contempt. strzok is also a personification of the deep state where fascism rules. where people in power don't ware what you think. but instead decide they know better. they know what's right, and then they implement it. but strzok isn't biased. he said so himself. >> after months of investigation, there simply is no evidence of bias in my
6:02 pm
professional actions. judge jeanine: for me it was one of the most of stunning don't believe your lying eyes moment i have ever seen. his own text exchanges betray his denials. he and his mistress lisa page called donald trump an fing idiot, loathesome, an he those n enormous d. for of any you who don't believe your lying ears. take a listen to this. >> for 10 days before the investigation began which the department you work for says nothing was done before july 31. you said trump is a disaster. i have no idea how destabilizing his presidency would be. between july 31 and all 8.
6:03 pm
how many interviews did you conduct related to the alleged collusion between russia and the trump campaign. i'm asking for a number. not the names. how many people had you investigated, had he interviewed. >> the counsel of the fbi based on the special counsel's equities directed me not to answer any questions about the ongoing investigation into russian attempts to interfere. judge jeanine: directed not to answer any questions by the counsel for the fbi. why is this important? why would it be important to show the investigation began before the fbi said it did? why? because nothing happened to even begin an investigation. they made up a date, and they made up a reason. democrats in congress knew the danger zone they were in, and desperately tried to use every
6:04 pm
excuse to end the questions. so an -- and so pond moment yum broke out in the house of representatives. >> he said he has been instructed by the fbi not to answer the question. >> mr. chairman, is it not appropriate to also interject the attorney-client privilege which cannot be overriding and is a tool of the house to the extent they have the right to an attorney-client privilege in this house. and that is what this witness is asserting. attorney-client privilege and he has been advised not to answer the question. judge jeanine: and it went down hill from there. >> mr. chairman, please. >> you know, chairman, the harassment of the witness. >> you need your medication. judge jeanine: the free-for-all in that hearing room was a sight to behold.
6:05 pm
but more than that, it was a microcosm of what the left has done when they want to shut down the right. the pent-up rage and pandemonium is an example of how angry the left is. while the republican deducted themselves in a genteel manner, the democrats claiming parliament are you points of order blew their collective gaskets. strzok said he's following fbi protocol. they told him not to say anything. six hours again he's shown to be a liar and is allowed to answer the question that goes to the basis of this absurd investigation into donald trump's alleged connection with russia. when given the green light. here is the answer. >> between july 31 and 2016 and august 6, 2016, how many witness
6:06 pm
interviewed did you conduct as part of the' russia will strum campaign alleged collusion campaign. >> i don't recall and i will have to check the case file. >> we waited all the time for that answer. >> that's similar to what you said a couple hours ago. judge jeanine: the text, quote, i want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in andy's office that there is no way he gets elected. but i am afraid we can't take that risk it's like the insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you are 40. strzok wasn't trying to prevent trump from winning. what he was doing was even worse. he was talking about having a plan to effectively disenfranchise the voters who elected trump. should trump win.
6:07 pm
forget democracy, forget the people. those voters who strzok doesn't like are idiots. he said so himself. in a texting to his mistress. if this candidate of choice didn't win. the one he helped avoid criminal liability. he was going to abuse the tour we entrusted him to insure that it didn't matter. if the unthinkable were to happen, his insurance policy would help deal with it. the insurance policy my friend is the russia collusion investigation. and that's why i wrote the book, liars, leaks and liberals. detailing the power structure, trying to bring the president down. the book hit store shelves tuesday. but you can still preorder it on amazon and barnes & noble.com.
6:08 pm
don't forget to tell me what you think on my facebook page and what you think of the open. now, coming up, my next guest had one of the most of memorable moments at the explosive peter strzok hearing. take a listen to this. >> i am going to go to the gate and ask you to read your own word. >> trump is a disaster wiive have no idea how destablizing his presidency would be. miss page said not ever going to become president, right? right? no, no, he's not. what the f happened to our country, lis. >> sir, did you not? >> you need to repeat it. >> sure. i am happy to indulge you. what the f happened to our country, lis? judge jeanine: congressman darrell issa joins me now.
6:09 pm
as a trial attorney myself i was quite impressed when you made the accused read his own words. most of of them in my lifetime denied they were their words. so clearly they were his. kudos to you. if we didn't have those texts from peter strzok, where would we be right now. >> we would have less evidence that in fact the very under pinning two years ago that led to literally two years of this talk about collusion with the russians wouldn't have happened. from the very beginning strzok has been in a perfect position not only to make sure hillary clinton got the white wash of her own actions which we know were wrong on their face, but now two years later we are still talking about collusion when in fact what we know is the russians are still the evil empire, but in fact we have not
6:10 pm
one single indictment, accusation or piece of evidence that shows that donald trump, president trump or anyone directly connected to his campaign excluded with the russians. it's been a long time, but it started right there with peter strzok who hated the president, loathed him and used words. i chose only the nice ones by comparison. there are some doozies in there that we can't have aired. judge jeanine: it was the text messages that gives us an insight into the esteemed federal bureau of investigation and the fact they were capable and are capable certainly under that administration of being political. but if you know, their insurance policy that strzok was talking about, the russia collusion investigation, it is paying off, isn't it? >> absolutely. it slowed down a great many things the president would do.
6:11 pm
and it has given the democrats the holier than thou attitude, not confirming his candidate. we are not just talking about the court. we are talking about simple career people who need to go into the bureaucracy. not hundreds, but thousands are backed up and waiting. even ambassadors have waited a year for more. some have gone away. this is the kind of obstruction they justify because they justify an investigation that has no fundamental underpinnings other than the truth we understand. putin and the russians continue to be evil and they continue to not have our best interests. but that's been a reality of life quite frankly since before eisenhower. judge jeanine: i often wonder, fit weren't for strzok starting this investigation, refusing to answer when it really started other than the fbi saying it
6:12 pm
started july 31, then when he got approval which he always has, they never told him he couldn't say that. he said i really can't remember. which is what witnesses, they don't want to inimnate themselves. if it weren't for him there wouldn't be a special prosecutor. i want you to hear one of strzok's texts. it was in the inspector general's report. he says on the day after mueller is appointed. he says for made -- wondering whether he should join mueller's investigation, i personally have a sense of unfinished business. now i need to fix it and finish it. who gives a blank one more a.d. -- that means isn't director which is what he was, an investigation leading to impeachment. the day after mueller is appointed web's wondering should
6:13 pm
he join the team and can it lead to impeachment. he's one of the first people to mention the word impeachment. and the investigation started with him. and he still won't give us honest answers. because we have rod rosenstein in the attorney general's seat. will we ever get justice? >> i'm afraid we won't. the on justice we'll get is from the american people who hearing peter strzok's words are discounting this investigation to nil. they are discounting the democrats objections and their continued claim that there is collusion when in fact there is no evidence of collusion. you know, judge, one thing i think that we always discount a little bit is we think these hearings don't matter. but they inform the public in a way in which the public is better prepared to react to other fake and false things that are said. just the fact that steve cohen
6:14 pm
had to apologize when he tried to apologize that a purple heart was equal to this man refusing to tell us about his misuse of government property and the foul statement he made about the president. judge jeanine: i think strzok was quite interesting watching how he handled the congressmen and congress women, and the way he views himself as against congress. he was somewhat pompous. >> he was. but remember, this is one of the problems at the fbi. if 90% of the agents are dedicated professionals who really try to do the right thing all the time. and there is 5% or 10% who aren't. they can change the outcome of investigations and peter strzok is an example of a bad apple the fbi doesn't seem to have the ability to get rid of in a timely fashion. judge jeanine: he's still

[♪] judge jeanine: welcome back to "justice" live as always on this busy night of news. my next guest says president trump is not getting credit for being tougher on putin than obama or bush ever were. former arkansas governor mike huckabee joins me now. very quickly. strzok. your take on his testimony. >> it was condescending and smug and arrogant. and i thought it was insulting for the people he works for. he has no idea what a public servant is. he works for the people of america. he thinks can walk into a walmart and smell them. when you talk about your boss that way, you usually get fired.
6:20 pm
it should make every american mad. judge jeanine: he's not an example of the great fbi men and women i worked with. he' the sad opposite. it's sad that's what rose to the top under james comey, but that's for another story. let's talk about nato. the left went ballistic because they were afraid he wouldn't get along, and the president was in their face like he was last year. >> nato will be stronger because president trump is stronger. he didn't go in there and wimp out and say none of you guys are paying your fair shire so we don't have as strong a nato as we need and we have to foot the bill, that's okay with us. it's not okay with president trump. thank goodness he doesn't just roll over and let these smaller nations push him around. nato will be better and more important. i think it was the right move.
6:21 pm
who cares if they like him. we are writing bigger checks to nato. judge jeanine: germany is saying protect us from russia in case they hurt us. but we want to give our money to putin to get our energy. but united states, we want you to pay up in case we have to fight with them. let's move on to the putin issue. the president in helsinki monday. and of course mueller releases charges against 12 russians within hours of that meeting. would you say the mueller team is somewhat include it sized? >> somewhat? are you kidding in this is the most of overwhelming group of of biased people. most of of them are donors to the hillary campaign. they should never have been on that panel. they had a bias based on their own political involvement.
6:22 pm
you and i have done something most of of these critics of donald trump have never done. we had multiple meetings with him. we know him fairly well. one thing most of of us who know him can attest to. he never walks into a meeting and rolls over. he's blunt, he never rolls over. they have no idea what they are talking about, and putin will not be dealing with someone like obama who told then president of russia don't worry, i can be more flexible after i get re-elected. judge jeanine: that off-mic moment. the president tweeted something out i think we have it here. the tweet is these russian individual did their work during
6:23 pm
the obama years. why didn't obama do something? because he thought crooked hillary clinton would win, that's why. it had nothing to do with the trump administration. but fake news doesn't want to report the truth as usual. i remember obama saying edtold putin to knock it off. do you think that kgb agent was scared when obama said knock it off? >> i'll tell you, putin had to take half a baby aspirin that night to get to sleep, he was so frightened by what had been said to him by obama. the continues is the press is half right. they said russia tried to meddle in the election. what they are wrong about is saying it has a thing to do with donald trump. even these indictments do not in any way tie anything to president trump. judge jeanine: we all know no
6:24 pm
one will be extradited, arraigned, tried, convicted or sentenced why do we spend millions of dollars on investigations like this when we know no russian will be sent over by russia to be prosecuted by the mueller team. >> i think it's window dressing. it's show. it's trying to prove there was some basis for the mueller investigation. but the more we know, the less the evidence point to collusion. and the more it points to the fact it was a weak administration that did absolutely nothing to stop the russia interference. judge jeanine: governor mike huckabee, as always, thanks for being with "justice" tonight. candace owens still on deck tonight. plus one of the top communications people in the white house. next, you thought the peter strzok hearing had fireworks? tonight's panel is standing by and ready to debate.
6:25 pm
dan bongino and philippe reines. you don't want to miss this one. (vo) what if this didn't have to happen? i didn't see it. let's see. if these packs have the same number of bladder leak pads, i bet you think bigger is better. actually, it's bulkier. always discreet doesn't need all that bulk to protect. because it's made differently. the super absorbent core quickly turns liquid to gel, for drier protection that's a lot less bulky. looks like good things really do come in small packages. always discreet. for bladder leaks. i'm trying to manage my a1c, then i learn type 2 diabetes puts me at greater risk for heart attack or stroke.
6:28 pm
can one medicine help treat both blood sugar and cardiovascular risk? i asked my doctor. she told me about non-insulin victoza®. victoza® is not only proven to lower a1c and blood sugar, but for people with type 2 diabetes treating their cardiovascular disease, victoza® is also approved to lower the risk of major cv events such as heart attack, stroke, or death. while not for weight loss, victoza® may help you lose some weight. (announcer) victoza® is not for people with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. do not take victoza® if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2, or if you are allergic to victoza® or any of its ingredients. stop taking victoza® and get medical help right away if you get a lump or swelling in your neck or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction such as rash, swelling, difficulty breathing, or swallowing. serious side effects may happen, including pancreatitis. so stop taking victoza® and call your doctor right away if you have severe pain in your stomach area. tell your doctor your medical history.
6:29 pm
gallbladder problems have happened in some people. tell your doctor right away if you get symptoms. taking victoza® with a sulfonylurea or insulin may cause low blood sugar. common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, decreased appetite, indigestion, and constipation. side effects can lead to dehydration, which may cause kidney problems. change the course of your treatment. ask your doctor about victoza®. mcdonald's pulling salads from 3,000 of its restaurants after customers got sick from a parasite causing an intestinal illness. health officials in illinois and iowa identified 100 cases of illness linked to those salads. i'm robert gray. now back to "justice with judge jeanine." >> i don't know where to start. if i could give you a purple heart, i would. you deserve one. judge jeanine: that's just another one of the many ridiculous and insulting moments by the dems at the strzok hearing. let's get to it with former secret service agent dan bongino. former hillary clinton advisor philippe reines for his first time on justice.
6:31 pm
isn't a purple heart given to people who put their lives at risk for the rest of us. >> first of all thank you for having me. i believe the congressman took it back. he apologized today. it's better than someone saying i'm a dentist so i know what you are thinking. the bigger question of the hearing is what was the point. in hindsight it's clear the house republicans knew what was coming down the pike. president trump was told about the rod rosenstein indictment. they looked scared to me. they went over the top. your own laura ingraham talked about that. judge jeanine: when you say they went over the top, dan, do you think they went over the top? >> philippe is just covering for his former boss, mrs. clinton.
6:32 pm
judge will be listen. of all the spi spinmeisters on television, this guy is the gold medal winner. the republicans are not running scared. the republicans want to highlight that hillary clinton got a pass under a different set of rules, with this gold-plated investigation of her. while the donald trump investigation despite zero evidence of collusion, still continues while people are attacked for process crimes. strzok is at the center of all of this. judge jeanine: when strzok says there is no bias, no evidence of bias, he calls the presidenter name in the book. he says he can't tell us when it really started if it started before july 31. he said the fbi told him he couldn't say it.
6:33 pm
then the fbi said we never said you couldn't say the. then he said, i don't remember. this guy is the kind of guy, you have got to say to yourself. i don't know of anybody more important to the russia collusion investigation and his bias is more up front than russia collusion with trump. >> he's a guy that served four years in the 101st airborne and 22 years in the fbi. judge jeanine: i was in law enforcement for 30 years, so what? >> bob mueller took him off the team as soon as he found about the texts. the only reason we know about peter strzok's texts is because bob mueller essentially fired him. judge jeanine: did bob mueller ask him anything about the investigation? he was asked that in congress. >> philippe has a tough time with the facts. he's spinning the facts to make
6:34 pm
it sounds like bob mueller is a white knight. the inspector general brought those texts to the attention of bob mueller. this was not bob mueller trying to do the right thing. what you seem to be avoiding is the fact that strzok already made incredibly critical decisions for your former boss, and the initiation of the investigation into donald trump. that's like rock a mcdonald's and five days later someone said we caught you robbing the mcdonald's. he got kicked off the investigation after the critical decisions is ridiculous. >> i don't think we need to get nasty and get mcdonald's into this. peter rock did not exemplify the
6:35 pm
behavior he should have in terms of his text messages. you were in the secret service. you worked with dozens and hundreds of other agents. you know there is no bias to the left among law enforcement. it's crazy to think there is a cabal within the fbi to elect hillary clinton. judge jeanine: oh, my gosh, philippe, you are not saying that. you are not serious. >> you are from new york, you are from west chester. a dozen years ago when you thought about running for the senate, would you have believed law enforcement was in the pocket of hillary clinton. judge jeanine: there they aren't an example of law enforcement. this is about peter strzok being at the center of two investigations showing incredible bias. i would require him to get off the case and fire him. >> he did it again.
6:36 pm
philippe did it again. now i know why mrs. clinton loves him so much. you are good at deception. philippe is right, a lot of them happen to be conservative. here is what philippe leaves out. the actual manager was peter strzok. he was not a rangen file agent and he was not a trump supporter. he said blank trump, impeach trump, trump supporters smell. to say agents are conservative while the guy is prosecuting trump and giving a path to hillary clinton. you gloss over that fact as thought it's meaningless. you are really good at it. i'm impressed. >> the fact that is being glossed over is hillary clinton is not president because of the
6:37 pm
actions of the fbi. judge jeanine: that's baloney. philippe, stop. the only reason is jim comey went out and mouthed off is because the southern district nypd was going to turn him in for not doing anything on the laptop of the dirt bag anthony weiner. why is the mueller investigation, only a 48 approval where last moisture was 55. the american people aren't buying this anymore. >> as much as dan wants to compliment plea for the job i do. you guys are fantastic. you pelt mueller every single day. i respect the effectiveness of protecting the king. look at mueller's timeline. the notion that he's taking too long is comical. the benghazi hearings took twice as long. i don't think this is about whether mueller is popular or
6:38 pm
not. when this is said and done, he might have 100%. judge jeanine: it is the american people's democracy. >> there were four body bags in benghazi, philippe. people died. there are no body bags for collusion. not only are there no body bags which is an awful analogy. but there is not a scintilla of evidence collusion even happened. don't you think that may be why the american people on both sides of the aisle have had enough of this? judge jeanine: they are telling me i have to go. i would rather stay with you guys. candace owens and the most of outrageous statements of the week are next. the inside story of president trump's trip overseas. white house director of strategic communicationser in say dees schlapp is here --

6:44 pm
and as is his usual waive dealing with things. he was in their face. how do you think it went? >> i don't think was in their face as much as he was being a true leader. one who is able to bring our ally to the the table and say look you have got to pay more money. we have to share the burden of insuring nato can be successful. when you look at the facts, you are talk about 8 of these 28 countries paying that 2% of their gdp in terms of defense spending. the united states, we are overpaying all the time. we are paying over 4%. so to president trump's credit, he's able to bring our allies together to say we need to you contribute more. we need you to be part of this alliance in a greater way. and he received praise from the nato secretary-general saying it wasn't for president trump, he is bringing these countries into
6:45 pm
the conversation, basically promising to contribute more money to nato it's very important in terms of tour security and in terms of dealing with terrorist organizations across the world. judge jeanine: it's about the american people not being taken advantage of. as you say, a leader. but someone who is not going to take it lying down. i want to talk about what expectations are there for the president meeting with vladimir putin on monday in helsinki. and the unusual timing of mueller charging 12 russians literally hours before the president meets with putin. >> i think for president trump it's an opportunity to have a constructive engagement with president trump obviously as you know, having good relationships with russia is important it's not only important for these two countries, by the many important for the peace and security of
6:46 pm
the world. the president has mentioned he's going to bring up the election interference. he'll take it straight on with president trump. and at the end of the day they will be addressing a variety of issues. as you know, there is always the issue on syria and north korea. and a variety of issues that will be important. but for the president it always is about america's interests first, and national security for americans. and part of this is insuring while the president has been tough on russia with russian sanctions and the like, at the same time it's about insuring you have an important dialogue with the russian president. judge jeanine: and a good dialogue with china and other countries. surprised about mueller's releasing these charges against russia having no connection to
6:47 pm
americans and the trump campaign? democrats calling on the president to not meet with putin. >> i have to tell you, the department of justice bye basically determines the timing of these indictments. when you look at the facts of this, this is a problem that happened during presidential obama's time in office. maybe he pushed a little bit on president putin saying don't interfere in our elections, but did nothing to stop it. one thing about president trump and what this administration is doing is they are insuring we have election security in our jo --our upcoming novemberee recollections. judge jeanine: hillary is back. she won't go away. she made it into this week's list of most of outrageous statements. thing says summer like a beach trip,

6:53 pm
>> this is a side show. they don't want us look over there. they want to continue this narrative right into mid-terms. it's a cloud over the trump campaign. then they will say never mind in was no meddling. they play dirty tricks. we are used to it by now, so we know how to fight back. judge jeanine: we have hillary clinton implying kavanaugh will lead america back to the time of slavery. >> this nomination holds out the threat of devastating consequences for workers rights, civil rights, lgbt rights, women's rights, including those to make our own health decisions. it is a blatant attempt by this administration to shift the balance of the court for
