constructive dialogue. rob: even some of the present's biggest defenders came out strongly against him for that mistake yesterday. a lot of space between what democrats and the left are saying which is very explosively critical and what his colleagues in the republican party are saying. >> the president on the one hand can say there was no collusion and i won fair and square in 2016 but we are upset russia was trying to interfere in our election and won't let it happen again. a clear message from him saying that would go a long way, this is a real problem. jillian: what is next? what happens now? >> great question. we were talking about the meeting with bashar al-assad. that is not likely because bashar al-assad can't everything and donald trump has a technique

of wanting to talk to the person who can deliver a solution to a problem, why he talked to kim jong un and wanted to talk to vladimir putin, he will look for the next person who can help them solve the problem and it will not be bashar al-assad. in the middle east peace process or something like this. >> a former kgb agent accused of killing people who are critical of him, he is no stranger to lies and deceit which makes it tricky to pin him down on anything. there are accusations from washington this intermediate-range nuclear forces treaty, that they are testing missiles they shouldn't be testing and russia but when you try to pin him down on anything he lies. what do you do when somebody can just say anything they once, you can't hold them to their word how do you make any progress? >> it is my personal view that donald trump's attempt to sweettalk vladimir putin is not going to work.

them complained it was because there were so many people flooding the website to score those major deals with amazon said they worked to fix the issue so everything is up and running. people complained on social media. i can see where the button is. please raise your hand if you feel personally victimized by the prime day crash and another twitter user says you can't hype up prime day for two weeks and have your website crash. they put a lot of money into the promotion but hopefully people will be getting their amazon prime day stuff pretty soon and be happy with their purchases. that is the story for great coverage.

ever seen. >> the russians must be celebrating. >> i have never seen an american president simply surrendered to the leader of russia, you should call this the surrender summit. >> i saw someone on another network appeared to be nearly in tears saying it is a sad day for america. are they being dramatic about this? >> we don't need to cry about this but the republicans are coming out just as angry with mccain and paul ryan and john kasich saying the same thing. i don't think ryan but equally as upset. jillian: i didn't say both sides were pretty critical and hard to deny that because that is what happened, both sides were critical. >> absolutely right. the reality, the fact is he is president of the united states, doesn't matter regarding the senator or congressman, he is the president of the united states, no one has the information he has.

we don't know what he has on his desk at his disposal. that is the realities roof and that is what it comes down to. he is working to bring our countries together, we cannot move forward and everyone should want us to move forward. between russia and america we are the most powerful in terms of nuclear weapons and have capabilities, we should love to work with russia, not to fight and be against russia but be on the same page, he's going to russia, no one talks about that, he will be there to discuss denuclearization and china. this is what we have to look at. we should be enthusiastic and went to stop the nonsense and drama back and forth to get things done, to let go of political partisan divide, have to get things done and the left will never be satisfied. jillian: we don't know what happened in that meeting. wait and see if we hear more.

smoked him in the primary but the top two move on to the election, it will be them in november again and even though she won in the primary he got the endorsement. what do you make of it? >> the democratic party is shifting to the left, no doubt about that but like republicans abandoning the establishment, lifelong politicians, dianne feinstein was elected to the senate when i was 3 years old and people in both parties had it but a bigger trend in the democratic party, younger voters think that we need to go towards socialism and europe but they didn't mention venezuela or greece and italy. they think that is the model of the future. this message of socialism might work in new york but won't work in pennsylvania, michigan, wisconsin and ohio where trump is gaining ground.
