leland: a lot of news out there. good to be with you at home. i am leland vittert. liz: the fbi releasing 400 pages of documents of former charm campaign adviser carter page on saturday. after several news organizations and advocacy groups sued for its disclosure. gillian turner joins us with a look into one of the earliest phases of the investigation. reporter: hi, liz. good afternoon. the fbi has released the intelligence committee authority october 2016 to monitor former charm campaign official carter page. here is the motivation for the five or an application from the fbi. it reads in part, quote, this fbi believes page has been collaborating and inspiring with russian government. there's probable cause involved are about to involve violations of the criminal statute of the united states. the once been released in response to a judicial watch freedom of information act request and to set up a

>> the foreign-policy including trade, tears, the economy and time. it will take time to work all of this out. if russia's meddling in our election they will not be welcome here. at the same time i have complete confidence in secretary pompeo, so i think they need to come to congress, let congress in america know what is going on, why are we embracing russia and am i meant to come here. i do have faith in the president that he's got a plan here national security as the primary basis. >> i want to get to the future some of that. first and foremost there's a lot of farmers in kansas and a lot of farmers who weren't happy right now. what are you telling your constituents? >> to trade and tariffs issue is my top concern right now. the price of pork is meant down 20%. so they are very, very concerned. i tell my producers the

president loves you. he has the same goals and aspirations as you do. please, mr. president, give us mexico ready to make a deal. i think the european union will follow. if they step in to get something done that they'll be left out in the cold. let's get trade agreements done. >> it's hard for these people trying to make ends meet. a long hot summer and a lot of them live paycheck to paycheck. >> people that are pretty well leveraged with the prices of commodities right now. that's why it's important to pass a farm bill and help give the farmers support they need and get some done for diesel as well. there's some things the president can do to help the american farmer. it's time. >> we saw him this week with chairman brady with tax cut to plano. the middle-class tax cuts been

permanent. you support that right now? is that a platform? >> absolutely. the number one concern about the tax cuts, which by the way is doing a great job with this economy was the brakes for middle income americans was not permanent. this would make it permanent will help grow the economy will get incentives for people in middle-class to better save money for retirement. i'm all in. kevin brady will do a great job as well. >> a lot of confidence heading into the fall. we are looking at some of those lawmakers. at least nine democrats in the senate. that's a big number. >> i hate to be a democrat going into a state devoted about tax cuts for middle america. how can they sell a platform of raising taxes. this makes the level and care for all americans.

dream to debbie dingell, good to see you as always. republicans think they have democrats by the tail on tax cut to plano before the mid-terms. do you agree? >> although i was one of the people who could win. let's be honest here. they gave permanent tax cuts to corporations so republicans have a political problem. >> should democrats get on board and be willing to make middle-class tax cuts permanent as republicans say they want to do or is this a political issue in the coming election? >> i have to say this.

>> right now -- >> i have no idea what this tax bill is going to do. i $1.3 trillion to the budget deficit. the last tax bill gave an incentive to outsource more jobs overseas. the last tax bill de-stabilize the health care market. are they willing to stabilize the health care market and make that part of the bill? one of the reasons president trump wine was because he understood a lot of people were afraid they were going to have a safe and secure retirement. i haven't seen him talk about this since he got to the white house. what are we going to do to make sure people's retirement thursday, pensions are safe. leland: so much of this election is more polarizing than 2016. on the left there is an insurgency of far left leaning candidates. medicare for all, $15 minimum

before i got to the congress. now i have a husband who i love who is putting more into the health care system than i ever wanted to be and i'm luckier than 99 and nine tenths of the people in this country and it's a broken health care system. person after person comes and tells me how scared they are. how they are worried if they have a preexisting condition. >> post-congressional health care problems are different than you play now. this brings up an important question is the democratic party moves to the left. as you pointed out, the future of nancy pelosi. here's one of the more progressive members of the democratic socialists when talking about policy. take a listen. >> she's the current party leader absolutely. i look forward to being part of that conversation in winning back the house. there's no decision about the party leader until we win the

house first. >> why has the future of either minority leader pelosi was weaker pelosi or congresswoman pelosi become the third rail within the democratic caucus? >> i don't think it's the third rail. i'm one of those people who hates the blue waves. we are putting the cart before the horse. >> are you confident in nancy pelosi's leadership through the mid-terms, which would then rightfully give her the speakership if you guys take the house? >> i messily confident in her leadership and i'm one of those people that we've got to go with them when each of those district seat by seat in them will have a discussion of what the is going to do. these are premature conversations. it's not just fox news, but many other people. we need to win an election on what the issues are and what working men and women care

student at american university, american university, how'd you end up in these high-level meetings. >> i'm not sure that maintenance is the right word. i think we are talking about events for various groups that were there. she was with her boyfriend, paul erickson, who was there and had different business dealings around. they traveled together. >> you work with the doj and in the past in the program you've given an awful lot of credit for being number one fair, to nonpolitical. now you argue essentially they are bumbling who have somehow railroaded this poor grad student and charged her with being a russian agent. how are those two compatible? >> they haven't charged her with anything espionage. everything she's done according to the government itself would be legal and file a piece of paper with the attorney general. >> why are they doing all of this over this gun rights activists? >> it's hard to know.

with donald trump this wednesday they might address some of the regulatory burdens between u.s. exporting goods to europe and they're also going to address the terrorist, specifically targeting germany. 10% tariffs on the u.s. cars with only 2.5% on karthik mercedes and bmws. they like to buy and drive, but that isn't fair. they will invest in the trade imbalance, would buy a lot worse that from them than they do for us. that's a problem. >> you brought up the auto tariffs. that is going to be addressed on when day, right? he might they do not want those tariffs. some american bmws and mercedes. we also have to put american carmakers spurs. and that's what president trump is trying to protect.
