criticism from democrats, the tax cuts for regular people was temporary and there was a sunset clause in 2025. this needs to change that. >> reporter: one of the first provisions is extend the individual tax cuts and small business tax cuts as well beyond the 2025 deadline. that is great because large corporations were given certainty in making corporate tax rates permanent. now individual families and small businesses have the same certainty. it is fantastic when you want to build emergency savings plans. the federal reserve found 40% of american families don't even have $400 in emergency savings. this will go away toward addressing that. rob: some will write off a little more costs so you will give them a little more of a tax-cut to get them closer to what corporations are benefiting as well. my question is the big complaint for democrats was the crumbs comment from nancy pelosi and the fact there was the sunset

clause for individuals. now that this fixes the sunset clause with every antidemocratic support? >> you would hope so. hard for them to keep up that line of attack that this is crumbs and they were disingenuous in saying this would be an increase on middle-class tax families when they were just looking at the future rather than current families who have benefited from these tax cuts. it is going to be hard for them to defend that. going into the midterms it will be harder for democrats particularly in states donald trump won to say i'm going to vote against another tax-cut that makes families better off in the long-term. rob: house ways and means committee released the findings they anticipate will happen with the new tax plan, saying it creates 1.5 million new jobs and bump wages up by a point and increase gdp by 2.2%.

those are very optimistic numbers. my question is if you take this provision and take away the sunset clause on individual tax rate that will add to the deficit we are seeing around $20 trillion but it will cost money to do this. >> not only specific provisions of what is added with savings but how is this going to be paid for? i don't think we have seen any details on how it will be paid for and that was one of the weaknesses of the original tax cuts and jobs act because it adds money to this but the economic stimulus could be around half of 1%, even more. could he race the bill that is added to the debt hopefully so we will see. >> the president is counting on a bigger economy. thank you so much, appreciate your time.

wallet. jillian: what should happen to him? >> because he was facing felonies he could face ten years in prison. it is not up to the judge to interpret what prosecutors mean. it is not up to the court to say we know what you meant and we will carry forward. for all our protection, in this tremendous lack of oversight with the department and supervising prosecutor it means it wastes taxpayers money and our time. we also pay for his incarceration. jillian: it is scary to think he was able to get out of these handcuffs and run free for a couple days before being caught. how do we ensure this doesn't happen again? >> reporter: the oversight of procedure should be reviewed. that should be a matter of course, they are removed by multiple sets of eyes so nothing is acceptable with only one pair. he was arrested ten times before

being deported before the airport escape. he should have been closely watched and all documentation should have been closely reviewed. jillian: let's talk about one of the boston marathon bombers, we were talking about it on the air, that illegal team laid out reasons his death penalty should be overturned. should they have time? what are your thoughts? >> the request for extension should be granted. in these procedural cases when capital punishment is that issue should always afford the benefit of the doubt. make sure all the tees crossed and eyes darted. capital punishment appeals are voluminous but here they know this exceeded the standard by a lot. they are touching on the venue issue, evidence that was not included and the statements were

included, they touch on the fact the triple robbery and homicide, participated -- they haven't seen those documents. there is an array of issues here. it will be meticulous and thorough review by the court and they have their work cut out for them. moving forward it is incumbent on the courts that the procedure is airtight and the review is solid. it is one step at a time. the extension will be granted. jillian: 3 people killed, 260 injured. with your experience and background you think he gets the death penalty? >> yes i do. absolutely. although those issues represent a thorough defense, at the time the prosecution put forth a 9 glad case and although the court of public opinion shouldn't weigh heavily into the court all these issues were raised, most of them at the trial level. the venue was the largest jury pool in the country and the
