anything to do with president trump. there is a lot of good stuff out there. let 1,000 flowers bloom. the first amendment includes the freedom of the press for a reason. i believe in the constitution. i think our founding fathers understood, as we have been saying, the adversarial relationship is going to be there. it's the most important thing. i don't mind if they did the editorials. it's fine. maybe it doesn't have that much of an effect except for maybe to get us riled up. but also he has gone after the media pretty viciously sometimes. deservedly. but he likes to call himself a counter printer. other people can be counterpunch ors too. >> greg: it was a counterpunch by mob. they all sound the same. it makes him look better. i still maintain he's talking about fake news, not real news. you wanted an example about the media and how they feel about trump and how they are in collusion with democratic party.

answer. that's what the democrats should run on. 2020. >> juan: obviously you had slavery. we've had amendments to the constitution. we have a country that has gone through some difficult times. everything from japanese internment. we have made tremendous progress. the thing about america is, and this is why i think he misspoke. america is great in america has long been great because it's a great idea, that we can come together. people who believe in political stability, economic opportunity. mr. trump, we believe in free markets. guess what. that's america. i think we are still a country evolving, working towards perfection. >> jesse: well, you said it a lot better than the governor said it. cynthia nixon, the liberal challenger, said he was trying to figure out what a progressive sounds like an missing by a mile. i think she nailed it. >> dana: you said he had no choice but to backtrack.

the only reason he backtracked is because there was an opposition research firm watching these boring videos of all these possible candidates and they pick it out. it becomes a national news story, then he backtracked. it's not like he did it right away. the thing is, if you are nakedly auditioning to be a 2020 democrat hopeful, you are going to be treated like a candidate. so these stories. remember romney's 47%? these things are going to happen. cannot forget. reminds me of john kerry, similar thing in '04. opposition research firms. opposition research guy on the campaign watches these videos and says says john kerry, the iraq war, i voted for before i voted against it. i think this has to do with 2020. not just the governor's race. >> jesse: i think it is going to dog him if it does run in

2020. >> greg: i'm a little overwhelmed. i am used to making fun of chris cuomo. now i need to go for the brother. they need to coordinate their stupidity. this is the thing. i agree with juan. i believe that everything person should have the opportunity to clarify what they said. but they don't give us that chance. if you screw up on fox news, you rarely get the opportunity to clarify. or if you are a politician, like 47%, or the folders of women. binders full of women. we knew what he was talking about but he never got the opportunity to clarify. juan eloquently helped cuomo clarify what he was trying to say, even though we know. would we be afforded that opportunity? i don't think so. i want everyone to get a chance to clarify something stupid they said immediately or a few days after. but i don't think they will ever let us have that. so why should i let him have it?

cut costs and attract teachers. some parents are concerned. the district is offering child care available for children 12 and younger for $30 a day. several school districts in oklahoma, montana, and oregon have reportedly made the change. students in elementary school would start their day at 7:50 and leave at 3:30. middle and high school students arriving at 8:30 and not leaving until 4:30 p.m. what do you think? >> juan: i think young people really need to sleep more. getting up that early i think it's kind of crazy. i wish people were more sensitive to it because i think kids would learn more if they had a chance to get a good night's sleep. when i was looking at this, i noticed it's out west. colorado, montana, oklahoma, oregon. it's different in big cities like the one we are in, new york, or even chicago, l.a. then you have a larger population of poor kids, and when they are out of school, that means they are not getting fed. their attention span and levels of dysfunction in terms of

everything from the neighborhood violence to families. i think it affects kids. i think school is important moderating influence on so many of people. i am a big fan of school. >> dana: most of this is due to finances, trying to figure out ways to save money. they also have a teacher shortage. there has been so much population growth. >> greg: it's great. an extra day to play video games and get high. >> jesse: oh! >> greg: i am talking about the teachers. people forget how young teachers are. teachers play video games now. they are in their 20s. anyway. i think this is all about choice. it depends on what you do with the day off. steal a car and go to las vegas, that's a bad choice. however, maybe if you are required to pursue something that prepares you for life, like that extra day, you take course courses. or sports or acting or music, things that give you more culture. >> dana: all of these things

are great. jesse, your parents are educators. i wonder what you would think. it's also a little bit about the financial thing because all of those great camps and things you are talking about cost money. >> jesse: that too. if you have parents working in that child is off on friday, was going to take care of that child? >> greg: a whole new industry of taking care of kids. >> jesse: you are not in charge of that. >> jesse: we are competing globally against everybody. these students are doing great. they are reading and writing and applying to colleges. their test scores are out of this world. a lot of students in this country are struggling with basic mathematics and reading comprehension. i want our students to be as competitive as possible globally. everyone is fighting for talent. an extra day in school is great but i do agree with juan. kids are getting up way too early in the morning. >> dana: what do you think jedediah? >> jedidiah: i have taught middle school in haskell.
