people's freedom of expression ist being violated every day in real ways across the country by the tech titans? does that compute or are they taking too much money from google to care? >> you're right, there's a contradiction and the left's position seems to be which is amazing when you think back 15 years when they were all going bananas because of george w. bush was trying to find out what library books you were reading, they are apparently now cool with spooks having super first amendment privileges. i'm with senator blumenthal, i we might as well have a constitutional right to a security clearance because three or four years ago just under 5 million people in this country had security clearances. it's more than the population of new zealand and norway. that's one of the reasons for the dysfunction in the intelligence community.

synthetic opioid, it's also returning a supreme court decision from a year ago that left many felons back onto the streets. armed career criminals. instead, moving forward with legislationis to drastically cut mandatory minimums and give liberal judges more discretion to deviate further, it's very disappointing. we shouldn't be focused on reducing sentences, we should be focusing on prisonso reform. everyone in prison is therefore a reason, there's a good chance they are going to commit future crimes if they don't get a skill or education or drug treatment, that's fine. prison reform is very different from sentencing reductions. >> tucker: if you are going to reduce sentences for criminals, youor would think he would focus on marijuana users or low-level drug users, why would you reduce the sentences for large-volume drug traffickers -- was pushing

this? >> for the reason why you have to focus on large-scale drug traffickers in the federal prison system because that's all that's in the federal prison system. virtually no one goes to federal prison as a low-level nonviolent offender, just a few hundred people at most. in those cases they usually pleaded down from a more seriout offense. i can't speak to what every state does but even at the state level it's pretty rare. at the federal level, if you are a in federal prison you are a repeat offender or a series offender. if you're in congress that's the only system that you control, if you're ideologically committed that means lower sentences at the federal level for serious traffickers. >> tucker: are you worried crime rate is going to goo up? >> i am worried that is going up. mandatory minimum sentences into three strikes laws and taking discretion away from liberal judges over the last 30 years
