this comes after an emotional private memorial service was held there earlier, kicking off five days of tributes. trace gallagher joins us now from phoenix with the latest. >> you may remember john mccain was famous during his congressional campaigns and senate campaigns are going out and canvassing the state of arizona. he would go to the farthest reaches of the state where they had towns with populations less than 100 and he would hold town halls there. what you are seeing behind me is really payback for that. we have people coming from all over the state, thousands strong, to pay their respects to john mccain. it's also about 104 degrees out here. this is no easy task. they are waiting in line for hours. the hours were set up from 2:00 to 8:00. they have extended the hours until everybody gets a chance to come through. as you said, it would've been john mccain's 82nd birthday. his casket was greeted by the honor guard. every single branch of the military along with vietnam

veterans and first responders inside the rotunda. cindy mccain and her family greeted by the arizona governor doug ducey and his wife. doug ducey, along with former senator john kyle, also spoke in honor of john mccain. listen. >> john's love for america and arizona, he represented our values all over the world as a senator from arizona. america is stronger for his fierce defense of our values. >> to the rest of the world, john mccain was arizona. where all of us here traveled i'm told people we were from arizona, people new to big things about it. john mccain and the grand canyon. >> it was also very emotional watching our former colleague meghan mccain her she went up and addressed her father's casket. she broke down. as you might imagine, this is

then you have andrew gillum on the other hand saying we can't lose to people engaged in bigotry, sexism and the like. >> lisa: it should come down to the issues. we are sitting on the left turn towards progressivism and socialism. i think it is the left response to the establishment like in 2010. the tea party was response to the republican establishment. i wouldn't underestimate some of these candidates. i remember going back in 2010. i was at the and rcc. the left dismissed the tea party. didn't think that they were going to be dangerous. guess what happen. republicans picked up 63 seats in the house and six seats in the senate. i would say there's a lot of momentum, a lot of energy on the left. for they write, do not underestimate these people. >> brian: turnout was great for the republicans and democrats committed virtually doubled this season. the energy there for both. i saw the ron desantis

treated for anxiety. they are trying to give these kids, i guess, a step to what these stresses are in college. i think we are better off ignoring it. if you have a case of depression, i get it. think anxiety and stress and worry are the fun part of life. you don't know what's next. what's wrong with that? people are misinterpreting anxiety and stress is something that is bad. to me, it's exciting to do something new. you have to interpret it that way. i >> lisa: you like to be stressed out. they also listed a serious issu issue. an fsu student was hazed and died. >> brian: i wasn't talking about -- don't make me feel bad. >> lisa: i'm not. we are doing this too. the dean who started this said is a seasoned psychotherapist, one of the big problems is that students are more fragile than he's ever seen before. isn't that kind of the problem? students are so coddled and it makes them fragile? >> greg: it is kind of a stereotype that we tend to

repeat as adults. we always say they generation next is more coddled than we were. we created a better society where they get to do less. i want to go back to the fact that daca denies philosophy is interesting. >> brian: you wrote it down. >> greg: i go "now i understand kilmeade." you create so much anxiety and stress because you feed off it. that's what it is. when i read, i was shocked by those suicide rates among young people. young people are all about, did i get into college? how are my grades? did are mom and dad mad at me? i was on the board at a college and people would come to us with red zone issues. young people come to college and they are dealing with sex, drugs. they are dealing with, sad to say, high rates of suicide. if you are a college administrator, i think it is more to address it. >> lisa: we are seeing a shutting down of ideas. there does seem to be coddling going on the maybe didn't happen in previous generations. does that kind of behavior produce future leaders or future business owners? >> dana: i don't know. mandating anything can create more stress. one more thing they have to do. i think this coincides with a decline in church attendance or religious beliefs.

our practicing faith. handling anxiety that comes with life, as brian was saying, that's something you can also channel into a faith. whatever it might be. so if you are struggling at school but maybe you had some kind of religious background and you might try to find a group at school or a church to join because that can help you manage that and you won't feel as alone as you might if you don't have that. i >> lisa: i think brian needs a hug. >> greg: let me defend brian. you are actually right. there is research that shows that exposure to stress builds confidence in whatever action you're going to do next. you can argue the reverse. if you remove stress from an environment, you create vulnerable people. >> brian: another reason to feel bad about yale, i couldn't get in. they have a course about how to find happiness. >> lisa: you could say adversity makes you stronger and builds character and makes you a better person. stay right there because a brand-new edition of wild card wednesday is next.
