heather: that candidate, a republican candidate in california's 36 district joins us live to explain why she believes it is important to have more women in washington, thank you for joining us. >> good morning, how are you? heather: let's talk about this, the record number of women running, 500 women running for congress, gubernatorial seats in 2018, only 20% of women hold offices in congress. why does that need to change? >> when you look at the fact that women are over 50% of the population and yet we are not served by those running for office in equal capacity we really need to take a hard look at that saying women are multifaceted. we do so many things and yet we don't run for office.

state we constantly hear how liberal the state is. in terms of people you are talking to do you agree with that? >> it is a different environment, no doubt about it. i got to tell you i was very fortunate because the show i worked on come both shows, bold and beautiful and the young and the restless, the people were fabulous. i'm one of those people who believes once people get to know you that they don't judge you because of the letter next to your name but all we hear from the media and those actors and actresses that are so outspoken in their beliefs i want to let you know they don't speak for all actors in hollywood i guarantee you that. and we are being misrepresented in my opinion because there are so many with conservative beliefs and wrong to put us all
