only a few days after secretary pompeo flew to riyadh and demanded answers. what they are telling us and releasing publicly they arrested 18 individuals connected to the murder of jamal khashoggi. majority of the people were the same ones caught on c.c.t.v. entering the consulate and leaving afterwards. what they say happened inside was a fight. i will redo some of the statement. the discussion between khashoggi and the people who met him at the consulate led to a fight and a clash with hands led to the death. that line "with hands" is important because the leaks from turkey said dismemberment and pulling off a finger. so saudi arabia trying to distance itself from the gruesome nature of the story we have been hearing. among the 18 who have been arrested, five high-ranking figures. this is crucial, among them is a man called general al-assiri who trained in the u.s. and the u.k.

he was the former spokesman for the saudi-led war in yemen. a major figure in the saudi intelligence. alongside him is a senior aide to crown prince mohammed bin salman. but that is as far as it goes. the royal family deny involvement saying they are pushing back on this and restructured the intelligence service in light of this. so coming a line of total deniability. and the king reached out to president erdogan a few hours before the news broke and he wants to smooth over relationship with the country. the last two weeks are torturous. a geopolitical storm, and that is yet trying to put to rest. but the bigger question now, can he settle issues with the u.s.? we are waiting for a statement from the white house. we have heard from a number of senators, we have heard from lindsey graham. he does not believe it.

a few days ago he came out firmly against mohammad bin salman. he says to say i'm skeptical is an understatement. this may smoothed over some of the cracks as to whether it has a lasting effect in the u.s., we don't know. we get breaking news constantly and i speak to the saudi sources. this is the story we expected. the sense is interrogation gone wrong and sanctioned by someone high level but not the royal family. that is what we are getting and we have to see how it is playing out. is there lasting damage between the u.s. and saudi arabia? we have to wait to see. where is the body? who sanctioned it? why did 15 go to consulate to interrogate one man? those remain unanswered today, and we will try to bring you all of the answers from here. tucker. >> tucker: where is the body? great question. ben, thank you very much. so there you have it. khashoggi is in fact dead as we have been told and saudis did it. they admit. what should we make of this? the head nodders on tv are

stunned by the news and hardly believe a bloodthirsty medieval theocracy would do this. really? the saudis? the same people that cut off the hands of thieves and behead adulters in public parks? the regime prosecuting one of the world's cruelest wars in one of the poorest countries, yemen. you are telling me those people murdered a political opponent? it doesn't sound like the saudis we know. c'mon. of course they did. we knew they did it. their only concern is they got caught. they have been caught, and they probably regret the whole thing. all of that makes sense, none of that is surprising. what is confusing is the wave of the false posturing on display from our own mindless ruling class. khashoggi's death they are telling us is somehow the most important story in the world. far more important than the political murders china commits each year. far more than saudi arabia. or countless children the saudis bombed and starved to death in yemen. more than that, they are telling us this is a moral

litmus test. the latest of a long series of the moral litmus tests delivered to us by fiat on cable news. support this. don't support that. otherwise you are bad person. that is the message of almost every show. share my beliefs or you are damned. in this case this is confusing because these are the same people, the ones commanding you to hate the saudis who just months ago were uncritically repeating saudi talking points right from the embassy. remember we bombed syria last spring? and bombed it the year before? saudi pushed that and everyone knew that. it might have been nice to hear it on television to use media skepticism at the time. but no. only this show brought it up. the rest of the press loved it. they love all wars. the more distant and the more pointless the better. okay. but spare us the theatrics now. this is a stunt. international incident for domestic political goals.

crown prince, the m.b.s. in saudi arabia and that the prince then may have acted on that. and one of the people he took action against is mr. khashoggi. >> just to be clear, we do not have that reporting. >> tucker: that is a sitting member of congress who said that. these are not serious people. they know nothing. they will say anything. they are buffoons. spare us the lectures, please. we have more on the news from saudi arabia in a few minutes. but first another fox news alert. mexican authorities trying to stop a caravan of the migrants headed north to the united states that may literally be beyond their power. trace gallagher has the latest on that story. trace? >> tucker, it's impossible to get an accurate count because the caravan is spreading out but we still believe there are between 3,000-4,000 honduran and salvadoran immigrants heading north.

right now at guatemala's border with mexico, there are thousands of migrants waiting to cross 1 of 2 bridges that lead into mexico. earlier today, they broke a gate and they tried to push their way into the country. in spite of the mexican police and the military using smoke canisters to push them back, many of them as you can see kind of got through. mexico has now told the united states it would put up the shelters, meaning tents along the boarder with guatemala. and mexican authorities say they are allowing 100 migrants per day to come into mexico. those people are being told they want to seek asylum, if they do so, mexican government saying they need to stay in a government shelter or charity shelter. and the applications will be processed in 45 days. if they leave and roam the country, they forfeit the asylum request and they could be deported. today after meeting with president nieto, secretary of state mike pompeo said this. watch. >> this is an organized effort to come through and violate sovereignty of mexico.

>> it's pretty rare to have a supposed acclaim raised, particularly with all the advancements that women have been able to achieve to have someone in an important position refusedio to answer questions fm the oversight committee by returning to a r spousal status, it is problematic, because there are serious questions raised here. conflicts in the testimony that people have cited. with regard to her husband. what we have to find out is what is the real record? when were the contacts made? who were the people that presented the information that ultimately went to the fisa court? none of those questions are answered now. >> tucker: you make a good point. if she is saying she can't answer questions to oversight body because it's her husbandnd and they are too close and shouldn't have to violate the privacy that exists between them. was it appropriate for them to be working indirectly in a

government setting in which they were? a >> that is a problem. they seem to have alternative reasoning. claim the fifth, if i don't use the fifth, he is my spouse. if he's not my spouse, i'm his minister. something along the lines.cl she hasn't claimed the full array but there is information that the oversight committee requires. i honestly don't know how serious the allegations are. i think we should know. we need some of the answers. mr. ohr made statements when he first interacted with the company on this issue that seemed to be in the contradiction with the statement of the other witnesses. that is always a serious problem for congress. now, the fact is his wife was an officer of the company. was an employee of that company directly involved in these allegations. if we now are going to have the spousal immunity claims it creates a serious problem in terms of having couples each

amy is a feminist and blogs at don'tletitgo.com, and she joins us tonight. thank you for coming on. >> thank you for having me on. happy to be here. >> tucker: i want your take on this. women athletics exists in a separate category for a biological reason because women on average, not all but w on average are differently built. >> yes. >> tucker: so this seems like a huge challenge to there idea of women athletics and none of the people whose job it is to defend women say anything about it. why is that? >> i don't know why. i myself think it's wonderful that most of the societies today allow for women to compete in athletics because it gives you the thrill of competition. the great sense of accomplishment, plus the benefits of exercise and everything else. the enterprise depends on segregating women, for what it is, because women are, on average, less strong than men are. we have less muscle mass. and so, there is an issue here.

i will get into the signs a little if you give me a chance. one thingng i want to say overa, professor mckinnon, i disagree with her about what a right to compete is. i don't understand it way she does. a right to compete does not entail the right to have an organization host competition that is willing to accept you as a competitor. if those exist out there, it is great. i'm happy that we do have women's competitions. >> tucker: what would happen in the wnba if men describe themselves, biological man -- i don't want to get into the debate -- call yourself whatever you want. if biological men compete, it affects the women. >> i'll call them transgender and i have information about them from a great blogger h.d. i he has a blog called hormones demystified. he told me this is a real condition but he pointed me to some research.
