judge jeanine: breaking tonight, please and federal agency more of a man who massacred 11 people and injured six more. during the sick pittsburgh synagogue. hello and welcome to the second hour addition of justice. i'm jeanine pirro thank you for being with us tonight. here's what we no, 11 people killed, six injured and for our police officers responded to the scene. the gunmen opened fire inside the tree of life synagogue during a baby naming ceremony this morning. the gunmen identified please tonight as 46 -year-old robert bowers, a man who apparently posted entice a medic hate speech online, or is the not

specifically known to law enforcement. president trump has condemned the attacks but to continue with plans for a pre- midterm political rally in illinois tonight. here is some of what the president had to say. president trump: tonight everyone in this arena and every citizen across the lands since our prayers to the victims and their families. we all do. we also send our gratitude to the law enforcement officers -- [cheering and applause] who have worked and risked their lives in sustained very, very serious injuries during this horrible attack. we salute the heroes of american law enforcement. we always do. [cheering and applause] we know how much we appreciate them and yet they are underappreciated. they have been such incredible

workers for so long and it's a tough job. we see it now and we see it -- maybe like we've never seen it before. this is the time to renew the bonds of love and loyalty that hold us all together as americans. these bonds have always sustained our nation in its hour of need. you know that. everybody here knows that. they are always more powerful than the forces of hatred and division, anger and evil. in america we love our families and love our neighbors and we protect our community. [cheering and applause] we trust in god. [cheering and applause] we protect the freedom of worship.

we believe in the power of prayer. [cheering and applause] we defend our constitution. we defend our heritage. and we rally around our great american flag. [cheering and applause] all of us here tonight are united by the same american values and we are all fighting to defend these values but we can't allow people like this to become important. when the change all of our lives in order to accommodate them it is not acceptable and i thought of it for a little while and the press said will you cancel these events and frankly, the future farmers [inaudible] but this is rally for [inaudible] and i

don't want to change your life for somebody who is sick and evil and i don't think we shoul- [cheering and applause] judge jeanine: that was president trump this evening in illinois addressing the horrific shooting. let's get the latest on the investigation. from fox news reporter garrett tenney live in pittsburgh. >> the tree of life synagogue is the focal point and this is tightknit jewish community and three congregations were there and several dozen people were there this morning and the beginning of this morning shabbat services. it was a baby naming cerny getting away at 9:53 when a man walked in with an assault title rifle and reportedly all jews must die before he opened fire. it only took a couple minutes to respond but by the time the

police got there the gunmen had killed 11 people and injured two others. when the shooter was on his way out he shot one officer and ran back inside as the swat team moved in. parishioners and other part of the building barricaded themselves in the room is a government action fire with pleas for another 15 or so minutes. eventually the garments rendered after he'd been shot several times but that point he shot an additional two officers. one was when officials describe the scene as the most horrific they have ever seen but said if it wasn't for the quick response i police it would've been much worse. >> the actions of this person took today were hateful. we are in the early stages of the invitation and over the next several days and weeks will look at everything in his life, his own, vehicle, his social media is movements over the last several days. >> we simply cannot accept this violence as a normal part of american life. the senseless act of violence or not we are as pennsylvanians and

not who we are as americans. reporter: they report that federal prosecutors are not charged the suspect robert bowers with 29 charges including vehicle charges. attorney general jeff sessions for those charges will open up the possibility of the death penalty in this case. fbi says at this point they don't believe he was on lawn radar before the shooting today. he's from the pittsburgh area. several neighbors described him as quiet and kept to himself but they say they saw no red flags. several members reported he said he told them he worked as a trucker and would be in a few days and be gone a few days at a time. fbi is getting his social media accounts and the possibility that he announced his intentions before the shooting on there. about one hour before today shooting an account on the social media site [inaudible] matching his name made an

anti-semitic post and conclude with quote, i am going in. the account has been suspended in the data is with the fbi. respecting to get more information on the investigation, charges and, of course, the victims tomorrow morning at a press conference at 9:00 a.m. judge. judge jeanine: garrett tenney, thanks so much. turning out with his take on today's shooting in the investigation is former deputy assistant director of the fbi danny colson. thank you for being here tonig tonight. look, one of the things that people obviously go to when they hear about things like this is a think about whether or not this could happen to me. obviously there's empathy is a busy but i think human nature is such that could this happen to me? when the president says, as he said today, if the pittsburgh synagogue had an armed guard results with "-right-double-quote, far better.

do you agree or disagree with that? >> man, i totally agree with that. armed security is important and maybe more important is training for the people that were there. they had some and if you heard the reporter he talked about some people were barricaded in the switch we teach in our classes, barricade or get out. we need to get ready. when you go to a theater, or a restaurant, where you said and how do you get out? is not being paranoid but being prepared. armed security can stop these things if they're well trained and committed to the jobs. judge jeanine: what is interesting is that clearly this is not a guy, as i spoke about in the first hour of the show, who is insane because he was lucid and made it clear what his intent was, what you plan to do and that he was going in but even more significant is the fact that he was not into getting shot by police and so the fact that when i got into a gunfight he was a coward who ran in to protect himself.

the question that i was trying to ask earlier is in the private sector, whether you go to church or at a job, does business have an obligation to tell its employees what to do or whether it's a synagogue or religion or ethnic, religious, sexual, or a lunatic not job, this can happen anywhere in america -- >> no doubt. it happens in schools, churches, movie theaters, concerts, i thank you are familiar that. we all have, as employers, we have a duty to tell people how to live through these things. we furnish them with insurance policies and let's furnish them with training. how do we live through these things. remember, police did a great jo. judge jeanine: fabulous. >> yes, second matter and that is important. you can do a lot of carnage in

ten, 15, 20 seconds and having it's better to have someone defending you there rather than coming to defend you. judge jeanine: let's talk about the fact that the sky was a licensed gun owner, apparently had a long guns also but other than this blog that i find very disconcerting, everyone says is a quiet guy and you and i know it's always the nice guy, kept himself, and then there's a mass murderer. but what he said on that blog that he was tired of the h ias hebrew immigrant aid society bringing in the immigrants and that he was going to take care of everyone. i'm going in. what are we going to do about that stuff when it makes it on social media? first amendment protects that speech.

correct? >> absolutely. he is protected by the first amendment and fbi can only investigate things that the airlines allow them to investigate. it's restrictive. that's not actual intelligence. that's rhetoric. rhetoric is not against the law even if it's anti-semitic rhetoric. it is legal, unfortunately, but there are conferences to that. we have to be prepared to take care of herself. it's very important that we are ready and repaired and also have an obligation to each other. that something that we need to think about. judge jeanine: interesting. danny colson, thank you so much. >> thank you, ma'am. judge jeanine: were ahead on tonight breaking news about the special addition of justice. next, we'll talk about the midterms and more with former donald trump campaign manager corey lewandowski. got directions to the nightclub here.

[crowd boos] i had a feeling you might say that. judge jeanine: will come back to justice. that was president trump addressing why he decided not to cancel the rally at illinois in the wake of the deadly synagogue city. as we have been reporting 11 people dead and six injured in pittsburgh today. you talk about that is more on the elections over a week away his former trump campaign manager, corey lewandowski. pick you for being here. your take on what happened today in the synagogue. >> will, a discussing terrible tragedy that the nation will mourn the loss of these individuals for a long time but judge what we have to understand was the motive. this is an individual who clearly was anti- semitic, hated donald trump, hated jewish people for all the wrong reasons decided to take it upon himself to commit this heinous crime. we need to do better and to find individuals like this and we

need the community to help us? judge jeanine: how? what did he do that we know of that could've stopped us? >> we don't know but we need to know who we interact with on a daily basis and what was his rhetoric before? any indications or signs they give us opportunity to have a question-and-answer period with him about a potential tendency to commit a crime like this. we have to rely on the people who know him the best. judge jeanine: yes. he put on a blog that he apparently had been taken off of because of his language that he was tired of the h ias which is the hebrew immigration aid society bringing in the immigrant caravans that come in to slaughter us and he was sick of it and going to take care of it himself. he said i'm going in. let's talk about monitoring that stuff, corey. what you do there? to cross check whether the guy has a license because apparently

he was a licensed gun owner but how do we do that? >> judge, the scenario i can member of the san bernardino killing. the member that? with a woman went -- the neighbors called the police and said we think there's a problem next door. go investigate and the police dropped the ball. look, is a former law-enforcement officer judge, i know you stretch the police are but we need community people when they see something that could be wrong the need to let other people know and we need to find out if his neighbors and his friends, if he had colleagues or family ever were aware of him saying something that could have prevented this terrible tragedy. judge jeanine: but his neighbor say it was a nice guy, quiet guy with salo in the same nonsense here about every serial murderer. in your career and mine. i think the scary thing right now is that if this guy is alone and acted alone and we don't

know any of this first work that any of us could be a victim and so, what does this mean in terms of how we behave? we have to believe people will say something but i believe people now are nosy enough based on the politics of the world they will say something. am i wrong? >> no, you're not running at all. we need to be vigilant in our communities and place of worship in our daily lives. the word is a dangerous place this past week to remind everybody that anyone could be a victim. what took place today was a horrific tragedy that could've taken place not only in pittsburgh but anywhere, in small times and breakdowns anywhere. we need to be vigilant and a better job as affinity of looking for problems and reporting the problem spirit. judge jeanine: let's say this was just a guy who said he will guide and he has been involved with anyone and the question i

think is inevitable do you think he was ginned up by the rhetoric of what's going on in the world today? whatever side you're on, i don't care anymore, he felt -- by the way. you said it right. he hated trump but this is a guy who just got fed up with it all and take it out on innocent jewish people in a house of worship -- >> i do think -- that this recently rhetoric is very high and former highest lot was an officer in lansing when they're down we can them and when you have maxine waters and other saying if you see them in restaurant, get in their face go after them. that is intolerable. we've now seen exactly what is taking place by this visceral, rhetoric on both sides heatedly. one individual is sending bombs to individuals and that's a tragedy now we see this disgusting display today.

we got to days before an election and i fight every day started again for my team to win but i want to do it fairly and in a manner that allows us to have conversations when it is over and believe me, judge, i want to win the election. i fight to elections will not fight to the point where were seen people being killed over. we need to do a better job and come together and have a conversation when the selection is done or before to allow us to remember we are the greatest country in the world and work together to keep it that way. judge jeanine: remember when these police were shot on the baseball field, shooter goes over and says are they from opiates or democrats get the answer and shoots them so when he hears the answer that were republican. we said we come together and would get better but we did not. >> i saw steve squeeze right and he still walking with a cane and made a remarkable recovery but you have to remember not only was he shot and other staff

there and other [inaudible] but we also saw -- look at what happened to vanessa trump she talked about. the letters that she opened had white powder in front of her family where she had her face her body she wrote in a letter this week about the horror and scare that she had to endure for two weeks because some lunatic realtor a package. we see this now on both sides and what we need to do is remember what is important where our priorities are in the country. there should be homeland security, national security, economic security and our families. that's our priorities as a nation and not taking out our visceral hatred on one another. judge jeanine: it was pretty bad, corey, for me in particular and i for he cry. i saw a lot of anti- semitic behavior and you wish that was behind us in our history but it's almost like a legacy that you continue to go after the jewish people. why they are targeted so much, sometimes by the right and left, i mean, it is just

mind-boggling. corey, thank you so much for being with us tonight. good to see you. >> thank you, judge. judge jeanine: for now on the investigation into the pits for shooting plus 11 bill said, six injured nat shooter robert bauer is now charged with 29 federal accounts. let's get more perspective now on what investigators in pittsburgh are up against. i'm joined by the man who led the invitation into another mass shooting, the mandalay bay master in las vegas just over one year ago. retired las vegas assistant sheriff tom roberts is on the phone. , thank you for calling in and if i am corrected it is almost a year to the day, it was in october of 17 that the mandalay shooting in las vegas occurred, and my right? >> yes, ma'am. it was october 1, over a year ago. judge jeanine: all right. that crime in particular sector since domination and i don't

know that we've even come to grips with what it was about and why it was done and what was the message and do we have any clear understanding of the sky? to the act alone? that i want to go into what you learned that we could use here. >> i don't think we'll ever know. what motivated the gentleman all the people in the concert in las vegas. we dug and dug and we never really found the motive and i don't know if we ever will. quite different than what you had in pittsburgh. we knew exactly what motivated the gentleman today when you and corey were talking earlier is important when they pick up or see this behavior whether social media that they say something so that you do have an opportunity before they do act.

judge jeanine: sheriff i must tell you remind me of parkland where the fbi got a call from people who said this kid niclas cruz is definitely going to kill kids and he said this and this and fbi comes out and said we could do anything first minute which is a bunch of hogwash because it was specific as to the name of the person, what the school was, how he was going to do it in the could've checked if he had the guns but this guy says, i'm going in. i'm tired of the jews bringing these immigrants and. this is a guy who's blaming the left and actually did not like trump either. what can we do when we read these messages? law-enforcement do anything? >> of course we can. it's important when you do see these messages, report them. local authorities can open these cases. in las vegas we did on multiple

occasions anytime we had the people spewing rhetoric we picked up a social media post fermentable that told us about individuals that were spewing all types of rhetoric and we went and intervened and once we intervened you continue to monitor those people and you we received several examples on the country when we did intervene but failed to keep the monitor on them and check up on them with a regular basis. we won't know until we dig further into it or find out what exactly what was done but you look at these in retrospect, a lot of times we could've intervened and maybe stopped something from happening. judge jeanine: i must tell you, sheriff, it's always good to hear when someone says we can act on that and i absolutely agree with you. there's a lot of follow-up that can be done in these cases. thank you he did in las vegas.

times -- yesterday someone arrested for sending pipe bombs to several people and then today the individual shooting up in a place of worship and killing 11 people, six injured -- is this a sign of the rhetoric and outrage the people are hearing and is there any correlation between the two? >> it might be in it might not be. at the end of the day it's a sick, deranged human, subhuman he should not even be called a human. resect, deranged person to do this. it seems like we've gotten to a point in life and society writing is to be politicized -- someone has to point a political figure to everything. at the end of the day this guy is sick, sick, sick person.

he did the most unthinkable thing imaginable. went to a place of worship and shot it up and 11 men are dead now because of the sky. we should try to pull politics out of this. he does not represent the left or the right. the person was sick, deranged and i truly truly hope -- if he's found guilty and get the penalty. judge jeanine: certainly, a good point. not doing everything through the political lenses the people look to these days. let me ask you about your dad. your dad indicated today that he thought about canceling the rally but he said something interesting and said we don't want to let those crazies control what we do and it reminds me or you were in new york and new york city in 2001, 911 as was i where we all that will not let these crazy people stop us from connecting or ordinary, everyday affairs. do you think your dad should've gone through with that rally?

>> i do i thought he said it beautifully but you can't let evil change your life. i think that's one 100% right. if every time the evil lashes out, it is our patterns or lives or society or society stopped, you live in a much different world and it's always instances like this whether 911 or tragic shooting like the one we had today that bring america together. clearly the person is trying to tear our country apart, community apart, do massive evil and it's amazing how the world works that sometimes it does the exact opposite once you get past the horrible act it brings society together. you have an entire country that is mourning for a small town in pennsylvania and for us in the synagogues and a group of people whose lives were offended. this does bring america together in a time where you can say that america can also be fractured because of so many different

variables. judge jeanine: i think the sad part -- it is always sad but the selection of a particular group based upon their religion in a place of worship on shabbat, it is a particularly heinous act but let's talk about what will happen in the next eight, nine days. the midterms. how does america turn from its focus on some of these horrific things that we are seen daily in the news to focusing on what is important in terms of the country continuing on the force or course that is on getting people to focus on real politics as opposed to the rhetoric that is making up politics? >> you do hope they focus on the real issues as opposed to frederick. this, aside, this is horrible

and you have other tragedies. look at the hurricane that hit florida panhandle so hard but obviously those are on the couple things for you to think people can get past those in other rhetoric they see in the media. judge, america is money. we are winning our economy, military is winning, veterans are winning, just about everything is winning. fastest-growing gdp and history of the country, lowest on implement, manufacturing is going back in stock markets are at a record high, 401k is done to men as well i can go on and on price for prescription jobs is coming down my father made a big focus on that last week. come to country is starting. were no longer getting ripped off by china and mexico -- we are the envy of the world right now. it is hard to stay on a day like today when something tragic like

this happens our economy is doing great, countries doing great and where the number one economy on earth -- you hope a lot of the rhetoric gets put aside in the hope people focus on all the positive attributes and the many great things that happened in our country. judge jeanine: when you talk about it, eric, it's almost as if there isn't only one metric that improved under your father and yet the left is so dug and so angry when you see the rhetoric of people who are congresswomen, commerce men you wonder how you can get people to take their sites offer that anger and turn it toward something positive. >> is almost amazing when you do the best it's almost like people are the most angry and interesting and i have seen it personally where you see a lot of the left lashing out they don't have [inaudible] right now. they want to double tax and

judge jeanine: a community in the state of shock in pittsburgh after mass shooting inside a thicker place of worship it let's go live to fox news reporter who is at the vigil for the 11 people murdered in cold blood in the synagogue. matt? reporter: judge, i'm in the heart of this neighborhood of the jewish committee center. right now the feeling is real. unfathomable that hours ago 11 people were murdered in the synagogue a few blocks from here. at tonight vigil people of all faiths came together, thousands of people, a state to be seen as a stood in silence in the cold rain carried on the vigil with music and speakers. what is so disturbing is that the majority of the people we talked to in the neighborhood that is still don't know the names of the people murdered in the synagogue and on edge because tomorrow morning they would likely find out if one of their colleagues or friends were

or one of their own was one of those killed inside the synagogue. we spoke to those people in his what they had to say. >> first, i thought was to pray and i was very angry that in america on our soil that this type of massacre can occur in a place of worship. probably the worst ever. >> everyone cares for everybody here. you don't have to be jewish. everybody respects everybody. as the world should be and again, i just can't express the sadness for all of us. reporter: a lot of good energy and prayers coming in tonight but people we talked to say they now fear or know that this neighborhood will forever be known as the place of a site of terror in a shooting like columbine and parkland or tomorrow morning we expect to get the names of the 11 people

murdered here in the neighborhood of pittsburgh. judge jeanine: matt, i have a question. i understand the mayor is not willing to release the names of the victims were not able to until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for those individuals -- i guess the fear is that you're not able to get the names of the mexican and i understand that those people who were there and think that their mother or father or sister is in their, why can't you answer that question now? if the closest family members are there? do now? reporter: judge, perhaps the people we were talking to were next of kin or maybe they have been notified but some people individual say i know someone who goes to the synagogue much or if they were in there today. maybe they're not direct family members but friends or colleagues or coworkers or neighbor. judge jeanine: all right. matt, thank you so much for being with us tonight.

judge jeanine: the suspect is in custody but the investigation into today's mass murder inside of pittsburgh synagogue is only just beginning. bernard is a professor of the school of criminology and coronal justice at arizona state university. also a former special agent in charge of the atf. bernard, good evening. >> good evening. judge jeanine: i understand in your experience in 2012 when you are with the atf there were 13 murders inside a temple. you see anything or did you learn anything from that they think needs to be applied in the investigation into the synagogue shooting in pittsburgh? >> yes, judgment one of the big takeaways is the bottomless depravity that we have of human beings against each other. it was demonstrated today there

is no ceiling to the goodness of people like these officers who put themselves at risk to say more members of the community. take away from these massacre is that when you are in church or place worship your body is there for your mind and spirit is elsewhere. it's that much more of a disadvantage or of advantage of someone who commit an act for someone to have that millisecond of a chance to gather themselves to perhaps run, hide or fight. judge jeanine: it is interesting because when you're in a church or a temple or synagogue or wherever your back is to the door, isn't it? >> i think of the horrific texas church shooting after the las vegas massacre were those poor people were in a box and were facing forward and the shooter came in with his assault weapon and harvested innocent people,
