active duty personnel from fort reilly, fort campbell, fort knox and fort hood are heading toward the u.s. mexican border. ainsley: 800 yesterday. by saturday 1700. by mid december there will be 5200 soldiers there. brian: what they're going to be doing is not arresting but aiding, aiding our border guards. everything that they need. beare going to be supporting them. but most importantly, they are going to be setting up not structures but setting up tent cities. just to give you the numbers if you are listening on radio. 5200 overall. they will be using helicopter companies. c-130 cargo planes. 22 miles of barbed wire. instead of the president waiting for the wall and funding. he is going to have a lot of barrier built by the men and women on our border to repel some who might want to come here. i hope this: we have 1,000 people coming anyway a week.

the country, you have to apply like other people. we have millions of people coming. in they are applying. we have a very strong border. they are wasting their time. we will build tent cities. we are not going to build structures and spend hundreds of millions of dollars. we are not letting them into this country. steve: the message is clear. also on axios. they have an item today. apparently on axios on hbo the president has announced that he plans to sign an executive order that would remove the right for citizenship of babies of non-citizens who are born here on american soil. essentially that's what they refer to sometimes as anchor babies. so the president through executive order is going to try to end that. expect some sort of a legal fight as well. the president told axios that apparently thought there had to be a constitutional amendment. not the case. he says he can do it. brian: a guy like bill

federal police guatemala mexico border yesterday and the day before. let me give you a look at what's happening here. we are in a small town in the state state as they make their way hometown opening doors and city hall to let people in. what you are seeing now is the line, mostly women and children. they are trying to put in front because the local state and the local human rights organization is allowing 11 buses to come in this morning and move them to their next location which is about 30 miles away. a little bit of some of the discussion going on back and forth is the men aren't necessarily always happy about the women and children first. that's caused problems in the past. they are trying to orderly do it. we will see when you the buses get here. we will show you. one of the migrants who spoke english. elvis yesterday. i asked him about the president's efforts to stop him. here's what he had to say. >> i got deported because i got an accidental. >> you got arrested?

brian: great job. appreciate it, griff. meanwhile today the president of the united states with the first lady. go down to pittsburgh. he says he is going to visit the site of the synagogue. go to the hospital to visit the first responders and everybody else that was in the line of fire on saturday. said i would have been down sooner but i don't want to get in the way early with what was taking place. steve: in fact, the mayor of pittsburgh asked him not to come because of security concerns. myers who survived the attack said he would be honored to meet president trump. he said i welcome him as an american. he is the president. and so that is the back drop. of course, today, they start the first funerals. of 11 coming up in the next couple of days. the rhetoric continues about the president's rhetoric. a number of people on the political left who said that the president's rhetoric was responsible for this attack. ainsley: not a time to get political. you see it on both sides.

the president is going there and saying i'm going to meet with the people who want to meet with me. i didn't go earlier because i didn't want to disrupt things. some saying don't come. some are saying to come. is he criticized no matter what he does. on some other networks though, the media hats just ramped up the rhetoric. they are connecting, some of them are connecting the president to violence around the country. there is one correspondent in particular that compared him to isis saying that the president -- saying that he has radicalized more people than isis has. listen to this. >> i think, you know, this president, one of the things that he really launched his presidential run on is talking about islamic radicalization and this president hats radicalized so many more people than isis ever did. >> isis has like 10,000 mexico the president has far more supporters who espouse an equally hateful ideology. brian: she went on to say realizing she the backlash she got and ridiculous

truth. here's the problem. we have a lot of supporters. those supporters know that they are lying. steve: so there he is talking about his term enemy of the people,. brian: i really wish he would lose that term. it doesn't help anybody. it doesn't push back on the media that he wants to push back on. and i think that it gets too many other people shrapnel against that statement. the president isn't the enemy of the people. some of the things they say and the way they stack their shows. the president could look as though they are targeting him and he has a case. that broad statement does a lot of damage. steve: i think he probably feels like they are not doing him any favors and he doesn't likely ultimately. are they the enemy of the people? i don't think so, either. steve: meanwhile, let's talk a little bit down in florida florida volusia county the republican party headquarters somebody between sunday and monday as it drove by or stood in front of the building and shot up the windows.

steve: 5200 troops are going to be sent to the southern border to stop them from crossing into the united states. ainsley: joining us is army veteran pete hegseth pete, thanks for joining us is it going to help? pete: it's the right move. more a statement of priority. more of a show of force than a policy solution. and the reality is you talk to guys on the border. folks in the military, which i have. these troops are going to be very limited in what they can do at the border. they won the fight to actually have them armed. a lot of these troops, the national guard guys on the border are not even armed. they are away from the border. providing logistical assistance. intelligence, surveillance, transaction. transportation. supplies, meals. they are helping the border agents do their jobs. there is not going to be a single member of our military interacting with maybe of the caravan. that won't happen. they will be in the back

helping the border patrol agents too long their job. steve: sure. one of the things we heard from the president yesterday was if they try to come into the country, whether it's asylum or cross into the country illegally, they are going to be held at the border in tents. he said there are going to be a lot of tents right there. if they don't make asylum, send them back. pete: which is the way it should be insane if you come through a port of entry and claim asylum. the first move the idea can you claim asylum is what is in question at this point. that is part of what this move is meant to interdict and change. brian: what i also think is pretty cool is the barrier. they are getting all this wire. i guess the term is raiser wire. steve: constantine wire. brian: go all the way down. and you will be able to push people in a certain way. funnel them in a certain direction rather than just have chaos. pete: the army has always been able to do that. reinforce and build new

jews. steve: killer made his first court appearance yesterday in a wheelchair. he appeared coherent. and said yes, when the judge asked if he wanted a public defender because he could not afford an attorney. more on that story a little later on tomorrow right here on fox news. ainsley: yeah. meanwhile, the president had an interview last night with laura ingraham talking about operation faithful patriot where is he sending 5200 soldiers down to the border. active duty troops before thmiddle of december. 1700 deploying them to south texas, arizona and california. steve: this is the largest u.s. active duty mobilization along the u.s.-mexican border in decades. of course, they will join the 2,000 national guard troop to harden our southern border. apparently there are two caravans. one the one we have been talking about for over a week. that totals something they are estimating about 3500.

some have dropped off, many have gone home. some have actually sought asylum in the country of mexico where they have offered people work permits. look, if you want to go somewhere, come here the president of mexico has said. most of those are continuing on. and then there is a second caravan about 3,000 down near the guatemalaen border. brian: i know our military is the best in the world. general mattis is a fine commander but it's going to be so hard, i imagine, and challenging and important to get the coordination down between the national guard that's there. between the regular army -- the regular military that's reporting. and now the border guards that are actually on the front line. i think most importantly, it sends a message, the whole problem with taking the kids away at the border was not we wanted to take kids away. send a message that our borders are not open. we have a system to apply for asylum. what they want to do is get the message to central and south america serious there

stops. we heard kellyanne say he is not leaving anything on the table is he going anywhere. ainsley: in a matter of week is he going to hit 11 spots. doing two a days indianapolis and. then on the third montana and florida. on the 4th georgia and tennessee. on the 5th ohio, indianapolis, and missouri. so three a day. brian: ohio is key. because he is really going to bat for the replacement for mr. divine former congressman divine. he wants to be the next governor of ohio and the president wants to make sure in that key battle ground state he has a republican on the ground. steve: what's extraordinary about that particular race is john kasich, who is a republican, did not endorse president trump and did not even go to the republican convention when it was in ohio. he is set to actually endorse republican mr. divine who used to be a u.s. senator, later on this week on friday. so, very, very busy. a lot going on. ainsley: a lot of rhetoric being ramped up around the country.

you. it's a strong message. 70% of people polled and it's a cbs poll said the economy is good. that's the highest number ever right before the election and if you walked down any main street in america you can see the help wanted signs all over the place. you can see prosperity. the numbers on economic growth, employment, wages, they speak for themselves. ainsley: in the ad they say things are getting better. how far have we come in the last two years? >> it's like day and night. in the last six months of the obama administration, the economy was growing just over 1.5%. fast forward to today, and you've got 3.5, 4% growth. you have at least doubled the rate of growth. cut the unemployment rate way down to historic lows. things are definitely improving. steve: stuart, when the president is out at these almost a dozen rallies between now and the midterm, he talks about the economy. he talks about taxes. he talks about immigration. and so that bolsters the

ed: it may have been also on the tax cut i was surprised when you go back to late last year you didn't have democratic votes as well. someone like manchin was expected to vote for it. ainsley: what do you make of early voting? when we look at early voting republicans are up, democrats are down. >> ed: yeah. ainsley: is that because a lot of people do support this administration and they don't want to say it. ed: i want to be careful with that one. you simply don't know what the trends are. steve: hard to exit poll. ed: you are not exit polling them. what could be good for republicans in that scenario if there is going to be a blue wave, you would assume there are democrats lining up in ohio and nevada and maryland to say i'm going out there i wanted to flip some of these seats. we are not seeing that yet. that could be worrisome for democrats. i want to caution they may just be waiting until election day and maybe there will be a blue wave. we simply don't know. >> in missouri we see senator claire mccaskill i don't like democrats. elizabeth warren. so she had a whole bunch of negative things to say about

republicans. i think it is going to be intense. part of it is because republicans have something to lose and part of it is because, it might be the most fun day they have experienced since 2016. you know if you go to the dentist and have actually cavities you don't want to go back so much the next time. that is what democrats experienced in the last election. like a horrible experience. so if they were rational, they would try harder to get-out-the-vote but people are not that rational. you do more what feels good and less of what feels bad. i think republicans are sort of a high action to talk ratio and they may be underrepresented in the polls and maybe far more likely to turn out because it is going to be fun if they win. brian: wow. do you think also a little bit because of the whole i'm voting for donald trump and not tell anybody i'm voting for donald trump because of so much angst with certain people? >> there is absolutely suppress feeling talking about it even to

pollsters. i imagine. that you will get a little surprise that way. probably a lot of energy. brian: you can tell scott, by the gloves, you live in california. it has to be hard for somebody who is such a trump supporter to live out there. what doesn't the political left understand about the president? >> they don't understand, first of all, when he criticizes the press he talking about fake news. people have thought past the sale. if the fake news so bad it should be criticized by everybody including the president? they have made us think past that to, a president shouldn't criticize the press. steve: do you think there is fake news? >> clear i, clearly. my favorite example charlottesville, when there was a protest about pro-and anti-statues and president said there were fine people on both sides, that was reported as he says there are fine people in the racist group, the white supremacist. that wasn't really the context.
