caravan has arrived. but here's the funny part, it didn't arrive in our country, it arrived in mexico in the border city of tijuana. the people of tijuana or mexican citizens so by definition they are good people come up much better than you are. they are more welcoming and compassionate, less selfish and less american. they will grow the economy and add richmond new diversity to the culture. so are the people of tijuana grateful for this caravan from honduras? fox's william la jeunesse went there to find out firsthand and here's what he discovered. >> should this caravan have been stopped at the guatemala border? >> of course, i agree with that 100%. you have to be aware of these people because, they don't belong here, they are just

migrants but in the same case, it's like mexican migrants going to the u.s. are undocumented. >> do you know of incidences here in tijuana and other cities that some of these people that are coming into these caravans are committing crimes? this is not about racism. we don't dislike a certain group of people because they are from one country or another. we are here because our government has not taken control of these, what we call, invasions. >> tucker: wait a second, that's not the script that we expected at all. the migrants are disruptive? they "don't belong here?" some of them are criminals? it sounds like what they are saying in tijuana is, when honduras sends its people, they are not sending their best. and that's a racist statement because donald trump said something like that in mexico once and the geniuses on cable news never forgot it and are still talking about that line years later. and yet, here you have nonwhite

>> tucker: an avalanche? a tsunami? notice the humanizing terms he uses. if this were a liberal arts college in america the mayor could be suspended for saying that, he definitely could be in some kind of diversity reeducation class by now. if you worked at google, he would be fired instantly. but he's not a student or tech drone, he's the mayor of tijuana and people can still say what they think without fear of being denounced by don lamont on cnn as a white supremacist. in tijuana, what they think is that a massive and abrupt demographic change is a destabilizing to a society, no matter what the color of the people involved might be. it is particularly destabilizing if you are not rich and most people in tijuana are not. even in mexico, they are wary of ignoring the law completely and treating borders like they don't exist. they know that doesn't end well. in mexico they can say that out

loud. henrique azevedo was an anchor at univision who was just in tijuana and he joins us tonight. thanks for coming on. i'm confused. we just saw a group of mexican citizens in tijuana saying basically the same things that president trump says almost to the word, endorsing trump. are they white supremacists? >> you have to understand that unlike human beings, intoleranc intolerance, hate and even racists flow freely across the borders and that is what you saw in those interviews. they are not running for president. they are not running for president of united states either. they are part of a group of around 300 protesters in a city of 1.3 million who, like many others are along the way are opposed to that in tijuana, and the majority of people in tijuana welcome immigrants.

it's a city of -- >> tucker: is a big city for sure. hold on, you just said that they are racist, but they are latino, spanish-speaking latinos, attacking other spanish speaking at latinos. so where is the racism? >> we are not a monolithic community. we have people from venezuela, colombia, different backgrounds and initiatives. racism exists in mexico toward central america. we want but how is it racist? >> when they go across mexico, violence, extortion and racism. >> tucker: i don't know how it's racism if they appear to be the same race. but moreover, and i think i said quoting one of the protests, it's not about racism. we want our governments to enforce our borders which is what a lot of people including me stay frequently in the united states. as it occurred to you that maybe it's not just racism, maybe it's okay to want your government to

keep your border intact? >> i think we should stop framing the immigration debate about absolutes. the border as you saw, it's in forest. border security through border patrol, through military, and through things like drones and atvs and high-tech surveillance equipment. we are enforcing the border. that's not a crisis or invasion, that's just a group of immigrants wanting to -- >> tucker: i know the talking points, but what is so interesting about these interviews as they seem to contradict the talking points. so the people of tijuana, we both agree they are probably not white supremacists, we can take that as a matter of faith. they seem to think this is a crisis, and if they are city and the mayor agrees with them, and i assume he's not a racist either, maybe he is. >> i'm very familiar last week.

we'll figured out how to fix honduras and make it such a thriving country and how would you do that. >> i'm not coming up with a new idea. we just need more resources. >> and so which program -- let's get specific. which program specifically would have made the economy of honduras so strong that no one would want to leave and come to the united states? >> so usa for examples working on two of the communities with the highest murder rate in honduras. throughout the last two or three years, with this program, they've been able to reduce violence and therefore reduce the amount of people who were leaving that town. the one so why do we have a caravan of hondurans coming?

i hear that a lot from dumb people on television, i think don lamont said that on cnn. we should spend more money in these countries. has there ever been a program that change a country in the third world that made it so appealing that no one wanted to come to the united states? i don't think there's a program like that. >> it's impossible to have a program for everyone. violence is a factor, poverty is a factor and even violence. we have a caravan and they were tracking their journey of a group of immigrants from honduras were 90% of crops have collapsed. the correspondent was telling me how the guatemalan region's famine to. >> tucker: i feel sorry for the people in the caravan and i understand why they want to come to the united states, i love this country. i appreciate their good tasting countries. but what about everybody else? >> we should start worrying when people don't want to come to the

we are watching on the screen in tijuana indicates that this kind of caravan can destabilize society pretty quickly? >> they are absolutely correct. all you have to do is look at what just happened in our port of entry. today this migrate caravan, they were tired of waiting -- properly waiting in line, waiting for their turn to claim asylum, and they tried to shut down the entire port of entry by rushing the port of entry. if it wasn't for president trump, and him sending the troops to the border and doing what he did, we would have ultimately shut down a port of entry that generates millions of dollars for the american economy per year. and we just can't have that. that's the lawlessness that we are facing. tucker, i just walked out of a meeting with the president and to see him and see the things he's trying to do to secure our

are feeling newly emboldened about rolling back the second amendment. eric swalwell talked about bringing criminal charges against anyone who resisted. we are not misquoting that, he wrote it and then op-ed. then one critic said it this would provoke armed resistance against the government because obviously it would. so while well responded this way "it would be a short war, my friend. the government has nukes." in other words, obey or we will kill you. mr. williams, thanks for coming on. so there's something admirable about the straightforwardness from our old friend, congressman swallow well. if you don't obey, we will just kill you. what do you think of that? >> we have to get to a place where we can have a conversation about what's happening in this country and have respect. as we want do you think threatening people with guidance is a good way to get to it?

here's my confusion and i have no problem trying to disarm people who are threatening. the problem i have with gun confiscation is it punishes people like me who pose no threat at all, and you and many millions of other americans with no criminal record and no intent to harm anybody, and it's makes you sound like a criminal now. >> eric swalwell was a member of the intel committee. >> we could have a conversation about one, isn't there an issue with guns in this country and what do we do with that? the actionable items are quite clear. we could address loopholes in the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. number two, we can deal with dealers who have been unscrupulous and number three we can begin to treat guns like we do cars. >> one congressman is saying, we will take your guns away by force.

millions upon millions of so-called high-capacity magazines out there. what do we do with those? >> i mention three things. dealing with high-capacity magazines and assault weapons. i mentioned with the loophole of magazines and treating guns like we treat vehicles. that's just on on the supply s. >> what this is what you do, let me impress you. there are tens of millions of magazines that fit more than ten rounds. in circulation. what do we do with them? >> new york city was a safest city of guns since 1951. i have a leading voice in dealing with gun violence in new york city. >> a gun again is part of the gun violence problem. and we have to all agree. and i want to start, you are not

have less than 5% of the population and we own half civilian guns. but thank you for agreeing that guns are part of the gun violence problems in america. >> tucker: i always say what i think, in contrast to you, i will say that. thank you for joining us. >> thanks for having me. >> calling nor is a tv host and he joins us tonight. i'm starting to get the sense that confiscation is clearly the goal because there is no other goal that makes sense. if there are tens of millions of so-called assault rifles in circulation and many tens of millions of these so-called high-capacity magazines, you will never solve the problem that the left believes is responsible for gun violence unless you take those away. right? >> it's the only logical conclusion because if you think about it, if you start with gun control based on the idea of restricting or taking something away, let's say we get rid of the ar-15. the account for less than 3% of gun deaths in this country so let's say we get an assault

weapons ban. at that point another shooting happens like the one i have been recently where he was a handgun. then we think, that didn't work. we need to do something more strict. it's always a race took total and complete confiscation but they never want to admit that. they want to act as if they are being reasonable. but it's like, the big scary guns aren't the problem because they account for less than 3% of gun deaths. if you honestly believe the tool isn't the issue then why aren't you addressing the handgun? >> tucker: that's a really smart point and when i plan to bring up next time we speak to someone on the other side. but my question is even broader than that. why in an increasingly chaotic world would you want to disarm normal law-abiding people? what threat do they pose? >> i think there is one dynamic which is composed of people who are just generally ignorant about firearms and then another

dynamic of people who are generally have an agenda to gain more control and to push the idea of reliance on the government. it sounds -- if i'm relying on my ability to protect myself, my natural and inclination is not to rely on the government to be there when something goes wrong. you can't push the government if you have a populace of people who understand and embrace the idea of self-reliance. >> tucker: that's a compliment. you are saying that many people on the periphery of the conversation hasn't really thought about it, but the people who drive in the conversation who have thought about it, do have an agenda. >> absolutely. it's one of those things where -- go ahead. >> tucker: that's it, i'm just impressed. nancy pelosi led the democrats back to a majority in the house, almost 40 seats.
