carley: we will answer your questions. todd: she is an official person. send us an email if you can post on all our social media pages, we can get you the answers you need in time. carley: a fox news alert, new plan could force migrant caravan members to stay in mexico until there asylum cases are processed. rob: the president fires back at those trying to halt his agenda. >> reporter: the new plan is called remain in mexico. asylum-seekers will now have to prove a reasonable fear of persecution in mexico in order to enter the us while their cases are processed. this as a new order from the white house allows the military expanded powers on the border if the department of homeland security allows it, those powers could include troops protecting

border patrol agent and detain migrants, james mattis describes the detention this way saying, quote, i would put it in terms of minutes. if someone is beating on the border patrolmen and we are in position to have to do something about it would you stop them from beating on them and take them over and deliver him to a border patrolmen who would then arrest him, and in that case mattis said troops would only be armed with batons and shields. donald trump is getting rare public pushback from the chief justice of the supreme court for his attacks on a federal judge that overruled his van on asylum for those crossing the border illegally, in a statement chief justice roberts said, quote, we do not have obama judges or trump judges, bush judges are clinton judges. we have extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their best for those appearing before them. the independent judiciary is something we should be thankful for. that prompted the president to reply on twitter writing in part

sorry, chief justice john roberts but you do indeed have obama judges and they have a much different point of view than the people charged with the safety of our country. this is significant because it is the first time a member of the supreme court directly criticized the president over his attacks on the judiciary system. todd: certainly something to monitor. carley: chief justice roberts wants to prove the supreme court as above politics but he felt himself in the middle of the political fight. todd: this proves bias exists in the judicial system. >> justice roberts wanted to demonstrate the supreme court as above politics, getting into a political tussle with the president is a funny way of showing it. the reality is of course there's a difference between obama judges and trump judges. if they are no different why did democrats filibuster merrick

garland, why did they filibuster corsets or anthony kennedy wait until there was a republican president, white tried to destroy brett cavanagh to keep him from taking the court? why doesn't ruth bader ginsburg resignedly trump replacer? a preposterous idea there's no difference between obama judges and trump judges? most voters a lot of voters voted in this election specifically because they wanted to make sure there were trump judges and not obama judges. the chief justice should stick to running the supreme court and not get in fights with the president. >> justice roberts was appointed by president bush in 2005. rob: a massive anti-terror operation underway in london after two suspected bombs are found hidden in an apartment, people living in surrounding homes forced to evacuate as investigators search the building that is under renovation. police say the bombs appeared to be improvised explosive devices, no arrests have been made.

300,000 pounds of turkey around the world with 81,000 pies, 12 times as many as last year and they can wash it down with 7800 gallons of eggnog. todd: speaking of thanksgiving this is the best interlude ever. the 97, 92nd annual macy's thanksgiving day parade will to take off in just hours. carley: 3 million people bracing for one of the coldest thanksgivings in a century. todd: a big wrench in the big day. >> good morning. it is absolutely frigid early this morning but it might not be the record-breaking temperatures that will be the biggest story. it could be the wind.

there are 16 giant floats you can see behind me. the nypd has devices set up along the parade route. of the winds get too high consistent winds of 23 miles an hour, gusting winds of 34 miles an hour that might be enough to not allow these to fly. that will be a gametime decision as the winds picking up as i speak to you off and on, incredibly windy. let's look at forecast and talk about if these will end up seeing these. that will be a gametime decision but at laguardia looking at wind gusts of 31 miles an hour getting to 32 miles an hour at jfk so it will be right in that region. that is where these wind gusts are going to be. the forecast on the entire day completely cold in the northeast. a little warmer in the middle of the country so not everywhere. there is the current wind gusts. when you add the winds to the current temperature the reason

the trump administration has a new plan aiming to keep asylum-seekers out of the us while they await hearings. carley: john roberts over the ninth circuit court. todd: david mcintosh, happy thanksgiving to you. explain what this is all about.s would think makes complete sense, take care of the problem there and not have this cross over the border. what you have are judges we call activist judges, taking the law into their own hands and using this rare tool of equity that says we will stop this from going into effect and it applies across the nation so one judge in california or washington state can block the whole thing in texas arizona and the rest of

the country and what donald trump is complaining about, legitimately, is those injunctions have gone up 3 or 4 times in his administration as these activist judges view it as their mission to stop donald trump. what i hope chief justice roberts would do is review these and put a stop to the abuse of that procedure. it is his job to police the lower courts so they don't abuse their power. carley: with his potentially new remain in mexico plan, the deal is the trump administration may send asylum-seekers back to mexico while their processes, claims are being processed unless they fear being persecuted in mexico. what are your thoughts on that

potential plan? >> that is our standard in the law, people can't just walk across the border but we give asylum to people who have a reasonable expectation of being prosecuted unfairly in their home country and the president is saying we will decide that before they get to america with a large caravan adding to our country. we will process anybody who says they are subject to religious or any other prosecution in their home but we are not going to bring them to texas or arizona or one of those dates. we will do it in mexico and sent them home if they don't qualify. rob: the supreme court will have a busy term from one branch to another. the legislature, the house dems will be investigating rather than legislating, planning a slew of potential investigations. ivanka's emails, presidential pardons and all that good stuff. what do you expect to happen

coming up when nancy pelosi takes over the house? >> he is completely opposed to donald trump's administration so she will turn lose the most liberal chairman we have ever seen, look at maxine waters who will chair the financial services committee and adam schiff who is going after the president on the russia probe and jerry nadler in the judiciary will be fighting to impeach the president. i think you will see all their time spent on those investigations, very little time on passing laws that we need because they are not interested in that. they want to stop the president. i think it will backfire. most people who voted for democrats were frustrated that

revenue from those sales and from one higher authority to another, here is carly. carley: thanks giving, a day for people to show gratitude but could giving thanks only be reserved to just one day a year or should it? our next guest says if we do it every day it can lead to a better life. joining me as senior pastor of the first baptist church, fox news contributor and author of the new book choosing the extraordinary life, pastor robert jeffers, thank you for being with us today. it is human nature to want what you can't have or always look at somebody else and think they have more than you. but you say we make a conscious effort to remain grateful and thankful, that could lead to a happier healthier life. >> the bible says our lives ought to be overflowing with thanksgiving not just one day a year when we stuff ourselves

with turkey but it out to be a way of life and it does have positive benefits in our life to regularly express gratitude to god and others for the good things in our lives. study session people who express gratitude regularly experience 35% less symptoms of depression, they enjoy 25% better quality of sleep, they were even motivated to exercise an average of 40 minutes more a week which is helpful after a day like today so there are some very positive benefits of having lives marked by gratitude. >> 25% better quality of sleep seems appealing to me. exercise not so much. but you are healthier person if you remain grateful all year round. any tips on how we can remember how to do this on a day-to-day basis? >> two suggestions. the basis of gratitude is recognition that every day of our life is ultimately because of what god or others have done

for us and i encourage people before you drift to sleep at night think about a couple positive things that happened to you and thank god for them. the study showing people who focused on positive things rather than negative things before they went to bed enjoyed a better quality of life and secondly nobody writes letters anymore. when somebody does something nice for you make a habit, send a text or email to somebody who has done something great for you. when the bible says our lives ought to be overflowing with gratitude that refers to a river that overflows its banks and splashes those around it. our lives to be so overflowing with thanksgiving that when people get near as they are splashed with gratitude and are encouraged themselves. carley: you have not only one or 2 but three new grandbabies, triplets.

>> an amazing story. my daughter and her husband suffered 3 miscarriages, praying to god that he would give them triplets, one life to replace every life that was lost. we don't have it put in our family but almost a year ago god blessed our daughter and son-in-law with triplets. shannon: they are beautiful. one girl and two boys, right? amazing. congratulations on that and happy thanksgiving, thanks for being with us today. todd: 26 after they are. dramatic video parking building bursting into flames, a baby tossed out of the window. >> drive by and kiss the baby. todd: hero bystander stepped up to help.

manhattan, drying 3.5 million people and in today's world safety is a major concern so there's a ton of added security. the police department screened the balloon inflation ceremony during the parade and counterterrorism resources, on the lookout for little for tax using checkpoints, barricades and bomb sniffing dogs, nypd says dogs can pick up the scent of explosives from hundreds of feet away. new york's police commissioner says there is nothing to worry about. >> there are no credible threats or specific threats against the parade or the city. so many police officers of law enforcement, it will be a safe day. >> blended in with all those performers and balloon handlers there will be thousands of unicorns and plainclothes officers and the streets block any vehicles from getting into the parade and bundle up because it is going to be bitterly cold

charged with security and safety of the country. >> the mystery of the fire deepens in new jersey, police finding keith can narrow shot to death outside his burning home, the bodies of his wife and children found inside miles away, police arresting his brother paul accused of setting his own home on fire with his family inside. his wife and kids escape. the brother has not been named as a suspect. >> god, i don't want to die, but showing last words written by an american missionary hours before being killed by an isolated tribe. according to journalists, his mother, shared with the washington post. john allen chow tried making contact with the tribesmen on the remote indian island. when he arrived field, quote, my name is john, i love you and jesus loves you.

happy thanksgiving. butterball turkey, everybody, we have lots of questions from your viewers. should we dive right in? janine from fort collins, colorado, asked, my turkey is still frozen. what can i do? this is a question we get a lot on thanksgiving morning and it is not a problem. there is a method called coldwater that is really fast and actually food safe so you don't have to worry about getting anybody sick with your turkey. you want to allow 30 minutes per pound, place your turkey still wrapped in cold water and rotate the coldwater, change it every 30 minutes and your turkey will be thawed. russell turkey like a 12 pounder it takes 6 hours. if you can't do all 6 hours it is okay, do as much as you can until you need to get the turkey in the oven and it will cook faster.

rob: get moving now. it is almost 5:00 am, thanksgiving is here. carley: any more questions? >> john asked how do i know when my turkey is done? are some questions and the best way to know when your turkey is done and the only real way to know is to use a meat thermometer to make sure your turkey is cooked to the temperature it needs to be to be safe but also still moist and juicy so you use a meat thermometer to check the temperature of your breast meat, the biggest part and the thigh. you look for the fire to read 180. if you stuff your turkey take the temperature of the stuffing itself and look for that to be 165. todd: one more question. >> gina in miami, much warmer.
