washington with more on today's touching tributes. >> reporter: a spokesperson for the former president says when he was briefed on funeral preparations in 2011, george hw bush asked if he thought anyone would come, they have come in droves and are still coming. the line outside the capitol building is hours long, to get inside to pay respects to the 41st president. politicians and celebrities, regular people are paying respects to a man who gave so much to this country. bob dole rose from his wheelchair to salute is another member of the greatest generation. >> what a powerful moment for bob dole, former political opponents, gave great patriot who served at the age of 95, got up and saluted the casket.

that speaks to this powerful moment for our country to come together despite our differences. >> reporter: former president bush has been lying in state at the capital since monday, his casket will leave a little later this morning at 10:00. a motorcade will carry the former president of the national cathedral. donald trump will attend the funeral as will the prince of wales and former us presidents. george w. bush is set to speak at the national cathedral. the casket of the 41st president will travel to joint base andrews, he then lies in repose at saint martins a piscopo cathedral with the funeral taking place at that church tomorrow. 's final resting place will be next to his wife barbara and their daughter robin with texas a&m behind the presidential library. >> two things gave him purpose. one was giving back to others. this is a time to celebrate george hw bush, not to grieve

reportedly turning over documents related to the clinton foundation and the uranium one deal. that senate judiciary committee, grassley wants to know why kane was not protected as whistleblower. more to come on that story. let's take you to wall street. wall street shuts down for a national day of mourning in honor of president george hw bush. this comes one day after the dow jones industrial average thinks by 800 points. investors are nervous about a potential economic slowdown and according to experts nervous about uncertainty over china. the downturn marks the market's worst selloff since october. avoiding the shutdown showdown on capitol hill. lawmakers are expected to vote on a short-term spending bill to keep the government running another two weeks. they have until friday to approve the extension. if past it would fund the government until december 21st.

more about fleeing turkey and trump russia. this is another in a long series of nothing burger is the left has gotten extremely excited about hoping they were going to bring down trump on nonexistent collusion. flynn's big problems he and his son had a consulting firm that took a big pile of money to turkey to do sketchy things. when that came to light and he didn't come clean about it mueller has leverage against him and used that to get a guilty plea to lying under oath and used that as a way to intimidate other reluctant witnesses into talking to him. heather: this is 6 pages long, the majority is rejected, this portion right here references unknown criminal investigation and talks about cooperating in terms of questions regarding russia collusion investigation and another investigation. what do you make of this

criminal investigation that we don't know what this is? >> that is much more likely to be related to turkey operations than anything related to transition or talks with the russians during the transition. those were all things the national security adviser is perfectly authorized to do. the lying under oath about that and the fact that mueller has leverage on him due to the nature of what he is doing or promises to do for turkey because i don't think they delivered the work. it is a lot more intimidation by mueller that enabled him to make this into something. shannon: rudy giuliani agrees with you and here's what he had to say, always colorful. he likened the offense in the flynn guilty plea to spitting on the sidewalk with major repercussions for many. he said there was nothing in the sentencing memo to suggest

collusion which it doesn't and as you said, the mueller team has been overzealous and the left overzealous in looking at this memo as it came out. >> reporter: if that is the case we will have a whole lot of fire and fury from the left, democrats and the media trying to make this into trump is going down, we finally caught him. i don't think there was anything that is collusion in the sense normal people think of. heather: if there was collusion with all the leaks that have come out and continue to come out and will come out today in regards to what this redacted information is, if there was anything tied to collusion do you think that will be leaked? >> i am pretty sure the new york times headline would be running that instead of the fact that it is all rejected. trump is going to have to face

>> we are not going to remove him through impeachment. the only way to remove donald trump is to beat him at the election box, democrats should investigate whether there is evidence of problems in his administration so make it harder for them to get reelected in 2020. if they tried to impeach him we have republicans coming on board to remove him. it is a waste of time, a waste of political capital and democrats losing their majority. heather: democrats lining up to get on the house judiciary committee which presides over impeachment proceedings. meantime michael bloomberg takes a tour of iowa with an eye toward 2020. then former new york city mayor visiting a new documentary on climate change but bloomberg took some shots at donald trump. >> they do not think he is suitable for the job of being president. it is a temperament issue and inquisitiveness issue,

but a smoking saw. you have to be willfully blind not to come to the conclusion this was orchestrated and organized by people under the command of mbs and he was involved in the demise of jamal khashoggi. heather: he denies knowing about the murder in istanbul in october. donald trump is cast doubt on whether the prince was involved. a federal appeals court determines it is legal to encourage illegal immigration. the ninth circuit court of appeals striking down a law which made it a crime saying it violates the first amendment. this particular law went into effect before donald trump took office, the ninth circuit has ruled against those policies. ♪

james hampton cook. thank you for joining us on this day, appreciate it. >> reporter: thank for having me. heather: you have personal experience with the bush family. you worked for president george w. bush, correct? >> that is correct. i wouldn't be talking to you today if not for george hw bush because the end of his presidency launched my life in a different direction. i worked at texas a and m and planned events for the university and the opening of the bush school, the opening of the bush international center. i met the senior bushes and that took us to the decision to work in government and we popped over to austin and started working for george w. bush when he was governor and came up here when he was in the white house. heather: what are your favorite memories of him? >> what stands out to me is he had a simple life philosophy. it was all about serving the public.

it was that simple. he talked in his inaugural address about being a good citizen and loyal friend and loving parents and a good citizen was someone who left his home and neighborhood and town better than he found it and as we remember him today it is that simple. president george hw bush left his home and his nation better than he found it. heather: as a historian you have some interesting notes. one of which was george bush became president 200 years after george washington. >> that is right. 1789, 1989. what, comparing those two both of them prioritized manners and being polite, civility was important to george washington and it was very important to george hw bush and how he developed such good relationships with people with civility.

that is going to be remembered about him in decades to come. heather: you can see the relationship with people that played out as he never met as they lined up for hours. peter doocy said the line was 21/2 hours long to get into the rotunda to pay your final respects. he is also the youngest fighter pilot from world war ii, the oldest and last of the world war ii presidents. >> he signed up for world war ii as soon as he could, at 18, delay going to college to fight. he is the last of our world war ii presidents. we had several presidents who served in world war ii and he was the last to serve as president. heather: how does he tie in with president john adams? >> he and john adams will forever have a linked legacy. they are both the only presidents whose sons also became president and that says a

social justice, politics and environment. that is the response. let's move on to this. how in the world a little mermaid song could be inoffensive to anyone but this princeton archipelago pooled it from their repertoire. >> the university decided it was too offensive to have the a cappella group singing students should not be encouraging this type of behavior, it is misogynist, plays into hetero normative culture, they bring up a man and woman on stage. let's remove the entire the mermaid scene, if we are going to remove the song remove it because it wasn't the best disney movie in my opinion, let's do beauty and the beast but this is another example of the snowflake culture of saying we can't have anything nice

eastern. this precious photo of president hw bush's service dog sully lying next to his casket was slammed by magazine writer and she is getting slammed online. in a column titled don't spend your emotional energy on sully hw bush, she points out sully has only been with bush for six months. she writes, quote, the photograph, in other words, is not proof that sully is a good boy or that he -- it is a photograph of a dog doing something dogs love to do, lie down. it captures something humans love to do too, project their emotional needs on 2 animals. the article really unreal spiking major back lash online with comments pouring in, laurel writing and instagram said, sully was a partner and no one should make light of the devotion between the two of them. on facebook ellen says touching, loyal until the end.
