thing because of his background and experience, jack keane, i served with both. general david petraeus and jack keane in the 82nd airborne division, both great americans, would do an excellent job. general keane said he does not want the job and has differences with the president on syria. heather: he has been vocal against syria. >> senator cotton is mostly in line with the president, not sure he wants to whittle away at his advantage in the senate even though there will probably be an appointment that is a republican to that position from arkansas. senator cotton would be a good choice, he is a young man who served in iraq as a captain and lieutenant, he would be a reasonable choice. shanahan is in the job of owning an executive, a career with boeing, he is with the defense

we mentioned this once again in the headlines every day, the border wall. you expect that to continue? >> absolutely, obviously, it shut down the government this year and it will continue into next year and it is one of the big issues for donald trump. will he fight and get his wall and deal with reforming our immigration system? desperately needed. the question is are democrats going to budge? i'm not sure they are going to budge. this will be an ongoing debate, massive issue, trump needs to continue making the argument, he is for law and order, democrats are not, democrats prioritize noncitizens, it is interesting debate in 2019 in 2020. heather: interesting to see in terms of the debate in terms of what he will except in terms of money because he asked for $5 billion and there are talks of moving it to $2 billion. let's talk about democrats

is about satisfying their base, the hard left has taken over the democratic party and they do not want the border wall. heather: we have seen it out, the roller coaster ride it has been on. the trade war with china, you expect that to continue? >> we saw right before christmas china started to blink a little bit, tariffs on 700 goods but this is the right fight for us. we have to understand china is coming forth, they want to displace us economically, this is about controlling technology of the future. this is the right fight for trump, who we are as a people 1015 or 20 years from now and we have to get china to agree to better trade deal, they have to stop stealing our intellectual property but on another front it is about hitting china's work with us on north korea and making sure we solve that problem as well. there's a lot of work to go and china has to play significant role as well. >> donald trump left open the door to meet with north korea in january so we will see if that happens.

this ties into economics, that will continue as well. >> one of the things we've got to figure out, a lot of people are not happy with jerome powell. there are a couple things that have to happen. i would love to see mister powell resign. if he doesn't do that come together with the last rate hike and not nearly as aggressive on this coming into 2019. heather: going through our notes, what is happening for the day, he has opened the door to meeting with donald trump. we will see if that makes any difference. >> i saw that as well. heather: the the democrats in the far left agenda taking over. >> alexandria ocasio-cortez is one of the big stories. she's going to be a pain in nancy pelosi's side. you saw her show up at protests. this will be problematic for the

democrats. she has a huge platform. it will be hard for democrats, especially when nancy pelosi and chuck schumer will be about resisting trump. i think the left will be pushing for that. alexandria ocasio-cortez will be there quite a bit. i think the hard left has taken over the party far more than people understand and you will see a far left candidate win the presidential nomination in 2020 because they have to swear fealty to the far left, their issues because of power and donor base, we start to see the tip of the iceberg and how much the left is taken over the democratic party. uma: left presidential candidate for the democrats, how do you think that will play? >> you are seeing elizabeth warren saying abolish ice, medicare for all, a myriad of

heather: welcome back. look at this terrifying video showing the moment a toddler is drawn from a father's motorcycle as the 3-year-old girl falling off and rolling through an intersection near her florida home. her father also falling off moments later trying to stop the bike. police say the girl started it after they got back from grocery shopping. the father rushing to pick her up after she had a wall, the girl taken to the hospital with severe head injury. she is expected to be okay. more shocking video out of florida. watch as this teenager tries to ram officers with a stolen car outside a restaurant, one of them jumping out of the way before officer shoots at the car. the vehicle then rammed into a poll before hitting a parked car. the 17-year-old driver died at the hospital, 3 officers are on administrative leave.

premiums, stabilizing the market, based on a bipartisan agreement reached last year by senators lamar alexander and patty murray. what do you think of this? >> this is a bad idea. the whole idea of obamacare has been a failed social experiment. two significant development occurred in the last year. number one, donald trump refused to share cost-sharing reductions, defunding any repair to obamacare by shoring up the deficit it created by not having enough money in the system. this caused premiums to increase and deductibles are high too so you can't get any healthcare at all. not only are you paying more for healthcare but the whole cost of getting any services increased because deductibles are up. heather: the texas legislation

determined the individual mandate was unconstitutional, basically obamacare is in a ditch and they need to get rid of it and start over. >> i was going to mention the ruling on december 14th. do you think they will get out of the ditch? >> he can pitch all day long but nobody is catching. at the end of the day this is a political move. it is unfortunate because it is hurting a lot of people. when i talk about healthcare i talk from a personal standpoint, a purpose and standpoint. 300 employees, had to shut down my business due to healthcare reform, lost we to parents, one while on the campaign trail. my mom didn't want to stay in the hospital, not to incur costs. and suspended a camping trip comport the plug. i don't say that for people to bring attention that this is a real issue so any democrat or republican who does not want to repair, how they do it how they fix it or anybody who put on hold for their own political agenda it saddens me and it is unfortunate.
