force. part of that is also the canines. this is three and a half-year-old eddy. this is an explosive odor pursuit dog. he's brand new to the force. these are the types of dogs that can smell a bomb from about 100 yards away up to at least 70 yards away. we spent some time with him exclusively as to how they train and operate. take a look. 6-year-old canine officer franky is finding which boxes have explosive devices inside. it is basic training, but the german shepherd is no average bomb-sniffing dog. he's an explosive odor pursuit canine, the nypd's newest weapon. >> nothing works better. all of the technology we have in the city, the topline technology, the dogs are at forefront. >> new york city's counterterrorism chief is a big believer in the new canines, capable of finding explosives 70 plus yards away.

the most important are the ten commandments and jesus christ who is the king of my heart. at this point the lieutenant was surprised and frankly impressed. he said that's not all. there's four suits. there's hearts, clubs, suedes, diamonds, and four seasons in the year. if you were to add up all of the cards, 52 cards in the deck, 52 weeks in the year. check this out. if you were to add up every spot in the deck of cards, it equals 365 the days in the year. you see, lieutenant, if you were to spread the deck of cards in front of me, i would see all of the thing i'm thankful for. as a magician, i take it further. as a deck of cards, i can see all that i have to be thankful for. just maybe it is a young man or woman overseas fighting for the freedom that i can even tell this story.
