border just before christmas, what was your experience and what can you share with people? >> what i know for a fact is that the border patrol agents that are working very, very hard tirelessly to make sure we are safe, they are doing a lot of humanitarian efforts, working with people who are not well and they are definitely focused on keeping our border safe and i was actually reminded of operation gate keeper which happened in 1990's during clinton administration and it was when they increased budget, increased number of border patrol agents and they -- they built the wall that's down across like the california border and what that did actually was first of all decreased the number of illegal crossings tremendously but also created a lot of development, that's why there's a big shopping mall at the border, there's housing, there's a new school, it actually did a lot of

the community in san ysidro, there's economic impact that's beneficial to the region as well. heather: earlier in the show we had someone speaking about that, how putting up a border wall does benefit people financially in terms of manufacturing jobs, that type of thing. there was something that happened over the weekend on fox news sunday, sarah sanders was on there and she was talking about in terms of the illegals who do cross the border or the people who do cross the border illegally, the numbers of those that include terrorists and she used 4,000 and chris wallace pulled back and said a lot happened at airports but we do have people crossing the borders who should not be here. >> correct. i believe the numbers base on the department of homeland security are 17,000 in fiscal year 2018 with criminal record

as well as an additional 6,000 folks who -- just overall, significant number of criminals that even within the current caravan and to be quite honest it took one person to kill an innocent -- an innocent american last week, the police officer, there was 12 high-profile cases of americans who were killed and quite frankly it is not worth one american life in order to have people with criminal records, ties with ms13 cross illegally. heather: president trump is referring to steel barrier and i know he talked about how he will use different materials and different parts of the countries that are along the border wall based on what they tell him they need there on the ground. >> right, we heard from the border patrol agent at the press conference saying how much it is needed. you have to give people the tools for them to do their job.

plans to impose taxes as high as 70%. >> but once you get to tops on your 10 millionth dollar, sometimes you see tax high rates 60 or 70%, doesn't mean the $10 million are taxed at extremely high rate but as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more. heather: so is it fair to rely on the rich to fund the tax initiatives, joining me now to debate democratic strategists raúl avilar and republican strategists holly turner. >> thank you for having me. heather: raúl, i will start with you, what do you think about her latest comments? >> i think that her comments are one -- i think she thinks there are people that are in tax bracket that need to pay their fair share, i think that's what she's referring to and i don't think she's referring to taxing

businesses or small businesses, that's something that we need to look at as country and the country goes forward. heather: holly. >> when you are taxing people that are making -- at the rate making $10 million or more, those are small business owners, yes, that's what she's talking about, they are llc owners and i can't even believe that we are still having this conversation, the american education system has obviously failed us, we are still having to talk about this, this type of socialism has never succeeded, it never will succeed, the only thing heather that i can see positive about this if you have a tax rate like that the democrats will have to support the wall because you will have to keep all the entrepreneurs here otherwise they are going to leave the country. heather: raúl that brings up the question, do young people, do they really understand what socialism is versus capitalism, let's take a look at gallup poll, back in 2010, 68 approved

capitalism compare today 51% that approved of socialism and you look at 2018, 51% approved of socialism compare today 45% that approved of capitalism, raúl. >> yeah, i mean, i think two different things, i think what's happening here is, again, people in this country feel like people need to have a fair shake and when you have 68 million americans working two and three jobs and they are not able to make a good wage to support their families, that's an issue, so i think that's what we are seeing here. now, i don't think that this issue is socialist issue, i think it's an issue about fair wages and fair tax brackets for everyone across the board. and i think that's what we are seeing. heather: when you're talking about taxings people up to 70% that's pretty close, holly. >> yeah, this is stifling innovation, it's punishing success. these people making that kind of

that i try to keep in mind, fever, chills and being tired, lethargic that tends to go with flu, you're right, if you have symptoms don't wait on it, especially with kids, a couple of days children are dying, if your child is home with fever, a lot of times you may keep them home and milk it yourself, when it's flu season, take them to the doctor and get them tested because there are medications that could help that can lesson severity. >> it's not too late, h1n1 is what we are seeing right now. it does lesson severity and if you haven't gotten flu shot, i highly, highly recommend still getting it. heather: last year they were talking about shortages but this year i haven't heard so much about that. >> not necessarily shortages of the flu shot but the antiviral the tamiflu, that tends to go real fast, if you don't have a

flu shot and you have shortage of tami flu that's the problem. it's only going to get worse, do what you can. let's talk about next topic, all u.s. hospitals to put list of prices online, what do you think about that? is this good or bad for hospitals? >> transparency is a good thing when it comes to health care, when it comes to everything. everybody should know exactly what they are paying for when they're getting services, however, hospitals posting list prices is not really a great thing that people may want to think. so your list prices, that's not necessarily what patients are paying for their care when they go to the hospital, you can't say, i'm going to get appendix removed. that's not really the case. this is my charge, insurance company will say i'm only going to pay you this percent and sometimes it's that difference is what the patient will end up paying so the real question is

maybe insurance companies need to list how much they are reimbursing hospitals and physicians for services provided. heather: that's a good idea. what's the thought process behind requiring hospitals doing this then? >> they want people, they want patients to take accountability, shop around, what's most cost efficient. to be able to see hospital down the street is charging significantly more than the one closer to and maybe you want to go closer to the one that's cost effective but the truth is you don't have a choice, you're held hostage to network, it's really a monopoly to insurance company on top and trickle down effect. i would be more interested in seeing what the insurance companies are negotiating, not necessarily what the hospitals are listing. heather: transparency but not in areas that would most be beneficial to you? >> that's my opinion. heather: thank you so much, appreciate it. well the time now is about 7 minutes until the top of the hour, let's say, a bizarre
