tv   Justice With Judge Jeanine  FOX News  January 12, 2019 9:00pm-10:00pm PST

9:00 pm
. >> president donald trump about to join me life tonight. hello and welcome to justice thanks for being with us. and thanks to all of you for once again making justice number one last weekend. coming up in just a moment the president of the united states donald trump will be calling in to justice president trump will headline the all-star panel tonight with house minority leader mccarthy and jim jordan and my exclusive sitdown that first my open.
9:01 pm
the issue is border security. the wedges the partial government shutdown. the collateral damage? federal employees who did not get a paycheck yesterday. if you refuse to negotiate or work for the safety and the security of the american people their mantra? there is no crisis at the open borders. their goal is to destroy donald trump. yes they have an even larger caravan and honduras about to cause a greater burden on the border patrol and the system at large. the president has shown he is capable of negotiating he has gone from a concrete wall to a steel slat barrier. willing to go with any barrier for any physical barrier that you cannot climb over or call
9:02 pm
enter rappel or shoot yourself out of a cannon over. he has made concessions from 25 billion down a 5 billion from a concrete barrier to steal. promising more personnel, detention beds , using technology and electronics. and money to address the humanitarian need. in spite of his negotiating the democrats refused to budge. curiously some democrats are peeling away from the nonnegotiable stance of nancy pelosi. >> i can tell you a wall make sense and places there are a lot of places it doesn't seem ask him say - - some say barriers are useful. >> if we have a partial wall, if we have fencing, if
9:03 pm
we have technologies to keep the border save all of that is fine. >> see what you are talking about. does it contribute in a smart way to security quick certain physical barriers can make sense along the border and in a lot of places you already have that. judge: i have a solution. there is no question president trump has the authority to declare a national emergency. the critical operational issue is that only money already authorized and appropriate he can be spent the only serious source of funds are the military construction build this week some debate of that comes from the line item of 13.$1 billion of every housing
9:04 pm
in afghanistan and iraq for 13.$9 billion going for disaster relief. clearly 13.1 billion should be used since i doubt we need to build homes in afghanistan and iraq. but now expect them - - expecting democrats to go shopping if the appeal goes to the liberal circuit if the president declares in emergency using military construction funds. on an appeal to the supreme court of united states they will lose under youngstown so the only question now is whether or not this is a national emergency if you don't think another caravan on moving similar to a military convoy with the advanced and
9:05 pm
we are party with eminence - - imminent violence along the way from africa or pakistan and yemen afghanistan, india, bangladesh,l and more is a national emergency and you are out and out crazy. the president has been sitting in the oval office since christmas eve he is ready for if the democrats are coming to the table the time to declare a national emergency is now. and that's my open. if you like my statement you will like my "new york times" best seller. joining me now by phone as the president of united states.
9:06 pm
good evening is there an emergency at the southern border? should be not now use the emergency fund and the power that you have in your possessio possession? president: we have a humanitarian crisis to put it mildly people try to get in by the tens of thousands rushing the border right now we pay money to honduras foolishly because they don't help us but now we have another caravan forming it will be the biggest one yet. we stopped the last one in tijuana they could not get through because we hobble wall there the military has been fantastic the border patrol has been incredible and these are brave people doing a great job. there is another one forming whether a steel barrier or a wall we need a strong structure. judge: but using those funds
9:07 pm
that our available to you at a national emergency don't you negate the point of the emergency itself? . >> i have the absolute right to call a national emergency other presidents have called national emergencies for things of lesser importance than this and i have the right to do it. i would rather see the democrats come back from their vacation and act. they are holding it up. it would take me 15 minutes to get a deal done everybody could go back to work but i would like to see them act responsibly and they are not. i'm in the white house and most of them are in different locations watching a certain musical at a very nice location and frankly it's ridiculous. we have a very important thing to do with border security to get people paid again very
9:08 pm
quickly. judge: when you were in the white house during the christmas holiday and you have been there ever since nancy pelosi is in hawaii now she's in puerto rico with democrats and lobbyists enjoying the sun and partying down there so what makes you think these people are willing to cut a deal? if you have showed your ability to negotiate to all of their demands as it relates to technology, electronics, fencing , and all the other things the humanitarian aid, they don't even look even di. what makes you think in any way cave? because if they said 13 then six years ago we need a wall but now you're the president says i don't want to wall what makes you think they're coming
9:09 pm
back? . >> they may not frankly i was willing to do something we are asking five.6 billion which is way less what other presidents were talking about. looking back this should have been done 30 or 20 or ten years ago this should have been done by others if you look at jerusalem. if you look at the embass embassy, every president promise that i never did that but i did it if you look at so many other things i have done we are doing well with china, north korea, i was left a very tough hand but this was one of the problems of the southern border. thousands and thousands of people are coming in. we have human smuggler smugglers, traffickers, the biggest drug dealers in the world but they don't go through the areas where you have a port of entry, they go
9:10 pm
through the areas with no protection whatsoever. it's very sad and dangerous and bad for the country a lot of crime comes from that location. judge: i interviewed the director of i.c.e. he said there is enough fentanyl seized last year to kill every american in this country. 90 percent of heroine comes through the southern border. but what we also know is there are 800,000 federal employees who did not get a check yesterday. you are sitting there waiting for a deal the democrats are not sitting with you. this is an emergency i don't know what is. >> i haven't left the white house in months and in all fairness i'm doing a lot of other work that is a very important element i have been her virtually every night
9:11 pm
other than one day i flew to iraq and to germany to see the troops and it was great to see them. the level of love i have for this country is incredible then i came back. i'm not sure i even missed a night but i've been here for many months and i'm a worker frankly i am ready and willing and able to get a deal done but they think it's politics. i think it's bad politics this country wants to have protection at the border. many crimes, ms 13 comes through the border, drugs a big proportion that we have from this country come through the border. the human trafficking with a tie women up and put deck tape over their mouth and they traffic in women and children and they come through the border, the areas i'm talking about putting wall then it can
9:12 pm
happen anymore it is only politics that's the game they are playing i actually think it's bad politics for the them. judge: when nancy pelosi one you very warmly congratulated her in november are you still confident you can get a deal done with her or has that ship sailed? president: i have no idea. we also one. we won the senate and those would say the senate is more important and i campaign for the senate for the most part. we got very little credit for that even you. we actually picked up additional seats we beat incumbents and almost everywhere i went we won. but i'm one person in the house had many races but yet we won some great races. we won the senate with two additional seats 53 / 47.
9:13 pm
judge: so given that they don't want to come to the table, you have done all the negotiating, why not declare? . >>. president: that might happen i want them to give them a chance to see if they can act responsibly they should with the border. and i have to say a lot of people that are not getting their checks they are letting us know you have to solve the crisis it is a humanitarian crisis and it is national security is very important. judge: that's what i heard yesterday from some border patrol agents. moving on to another subject "the new york times" reported the fbi opened a counterintelligence investigation the day after you fired james comay. the investigation is if you are actively working for russia or unwittingly so are you now or have you ever worked for russia mister
9:14 pm
president? president: it's the most insulting thing i've ever been asked the most insulting article that has ever been written if you read the article you can see there is absolutely nothing but the headline is called the failing "new york times" for a reason they have gotten me wrong for many years before this but look at what's going on i call him lying james because he is a terrible liar and he did a terrible job as the fbi director look it with hillary clinton and her e-mail investigation. one of the biggest screw ups anybody has ever seen. what happened after i fired him? his lover and peter struck they did it. many people from the top ranks of the fbi have been fired
9:15 pm
where they had to leave. they are gone this is what they are talking about obviously nothing was found. if you ask the folks in russia i have been tougher on russia than anybody else or probably any other president. but certainly the last three or four modern-day president presidents, nobody has been as tough as i have from any standpoint including the fact like we are setting records with oil and exporting oil which is obviously not great for them because that's where they get their money for the most part. it was a great insult "the new york times" as a disastrous newspaper it is very horrible thing that they said. they got so far those that were not necessarily believers were big believers it was a step too far they are disaster. judge: talk about the people that were involved in that have since been fired or gone
9:16 pm
whether page or struck or others and also the dossier "the washington post" is following up reporting that you went to usual links to keep your conversations under wraps. so why not release the conversation you had with president putin in helsinki along with other stuff that might involve fisa or a lot of them? . >> i would. i don't care i had a conversation like every president does. use it with the president of various countries we had a great conversation. we were talking about israel and securing israel and other things i'm not keeping anything under wraps i could care less. it is a ridiculous "the washington post" that's basically the lobbyist for amazon. he has bigger problems than
9:17 pm
anybody right now but he use that is his lobbyist as far as i am concerned in "the washington post" is almost as bad as "the new york times". think about it i have a one-on-one meeting like every other leader, many one-on-one nobody ever says anything but with putin they say what do they talk about? we talked about very positive things because we are beating everybody. our economy is the strongest right now in the world nobody even close china is down 30 percent russia is not doing well. we are doing phenomenal even interest rates because we are normalizing. obama has zero interest anybody can do that our economy is better than ever we are almost at the high with the stock market again. can you imagine when they said that with putin? i met with every leader just
9:18 pm
about individually. japan, all of them. but nobody says anything but i meet with putin they make a big deal about it anybody can listen to the meeting it is open for grabs. the whole russia thing is a hoa hoax. it is a terrible hoax you probably know it better. people to look at it is a total hoax and it is really a shame because it takes time and effort and everybody knows there was no collusion whatsoever they have found no collusion and they won't because i had nothing to do with that i was a better candidate than hillary clinton she was a terrible candidate and i was obviously a good candidat candidate. when we debate i want and i won easily. 306 / 223 that is a big difference in the electoral college but it really is a shame it's a waste of time.
9:19 pm
judge: it is a waste of time and a waste of energy. people have to say to themselves, how can you deal with all of this? with "the new york times" article it just seems to be a rehash with the same arguments with the same dossier just to keep it going as long as they can. what keeps you going? you have so much fight inuit is unbelievable. president: i guess i have good genes somebody said the other day no president should have to go through what you are going through mister president. i am going through all of this nonsense. it is nonsense because i have to be careful because they are dirty players they are no good. the mueller investigation and all of this nonsense and they say that should never happen again. and that's a story but despite that we have done more than any other administration by
9:20 pm
far in the first two years to have tremendous success. judge: and now to be dragging in michael coleman and already proven convicted liar to congress. are you worried? . >> i was a client of his you are supposed to have lawyer client privilege but it doesn't matter i am an honest person so he is in trouble for loans and fraud in taxicabs but i don't know about so to get the sentence we produced he said i have an idea i will give you information on the president. there is no information but he should give information on his father-in-law because that's the one that people want to look at. where does the money go? i guess he doesn't want to talk about his father-in-law he is trying to get his sentence reduced it is very
9:21 pm
sad to watch that i could not care less. judge: what is his father-in-law's name? i don't know but you will find out i was a client. they broke into his law firm early in the morning and this could happen to anybody except you are dealing with the remnants of james call me and wait until you see how this ends up. lisa page and peter struck wait until you see how this ends up. judge: i cannot wait we are all waiting for the fisa. >> we will probably do that if it is necessary. that is very important stuff. as you know, a lot of bad things happened with a lot of elements of what we're talking about and at the right time we will probably do that. that's right.
9:22 pm
judge: are your lawyers working to keep the mueller report from being made public? president: i can tell you i don't devote too much time there was no collusion. there was no extortion. there was no anything. no calls to russia. know nothing. it is all nonsense. it's a hoax it is called the russian hoax for a reason. it is a witchhunt and it is a shame. despite that we are exposing people that are corrupt. people are being exposed by this that are totally corrupt. a lot of the people that don't get mentioned even in that article today in "the new york times" there is a lot of corruption and we are exposing it and i will put that down someday as one of my greatest achievements. judge: i look forward to hearing that and just one last question mister president, when will you get out of the white house? washington after a while gets
9:23 pm
very depressing. president: i love it i love this building i do a lot of work in the building if you look at the deal with china which nobody could take on and we are doing it with it for the country. ending the iran nuclear deal it's a different country than two years ago. all of the trade deals with mexico by the way mexico is paying for the wall because the trade deal is billions and billions of dollars better than nafta so absolutely they are paying for the wall. so we are doing a great job and i like doing it then we get involved with the russian hoax it's one of those things but i love doing it. but this will turn out to be very important because people will be exposed that nobody ever thought possible. judge: and one more post last
9:24 pm
question hearing all these people that will run against you in 2020? . >> i'm not worried so far i love the competition i love what i see. a couple are not running that i hoping that they would then announce that they are not i was looking forward to that the i'm thinking close to 30 people maybe 32. i see nobody maybe bruce springsteen? they are saying we will not beat him again. we are doing too well we have the greatest unemployment and employment numbers we have ever had is a country. hispanic americans asian americans african-americans the overall number historically better the economy is the best economy we have ever had. more people are working today in our country than have ever worked in our country before.
9:25 pm
how does somebody beat that? we have great tree trade deals i cut taxes bigger than the ronald reagan tax cuts. we got rid of the individual mandate on the horrible obama care which we will take care of. so we are doing a good job and people see it. judge: who was the one person you would really like to run against? . >> i don't want to pick anyone out but a lot of people say biden is doing okay but he was always 1 percent he ran two or three times he never got above 1 percent then obama came along and took them off the trash heap and become a vat - - vice president but he is weak so we will see what happens with him but i think he is leading from what i understand but i will be watching. whoever it is i think we will do just fine. judge: mister president i hope you get out of the white house. you deserve a vacation.
9:26 pm
>> i like the symbol of being here to be totally honest. your audience knows i am a straight shooter i like the symbol of me being here and them being at a play in a nice location having a good time. i like that symbol because i am ready to sign and they are not. so we will see what happens if they don't do it they don't come to their sentences - - senses i will do a national emergency but honestly we should not have to but they will want something from me someday. very important because i have to sign everything everything has to go through the white house mitch mcconnell has done an incredible job to stick together like glue. we have tremendous support. but they are going to want something from us and all of a sudden they will find out it will be very tough for them.
9:27 pm
we need security at the southern border for our country. judge: i will tell you mister president when you reference the justice viewers, they are behind you 100 percent. president: thank you very much. judge: thanks for being with us tonight we are very grateful. president: thank you very much. judge: so much to discuss. congressman jim jordan and also mccarthy here to react my interview with the president and next we will talk live with house minority leader mccarthy over the president's comments. congressman. you heard the interview with the president. >> yes i did. judge: what is your take on the issue of the border and how democrats are handling this especially schumer has voted for a border nancy has voted for a border way they are behaving in these meetings what is your opinion? . >> i have been in all of these meetingsim he was calm answering the question. he made offer after offer the only people in these meetings who have not made a counter offer are the democrats. they say they are for border security but who believes that doesn't believe some form of a barrier? you know, who else says there is a crisis? barack obama who is voted for fencing and hillary clintonbi and biden nancy pelosi twice.
9:34 pm
but now because it ist president trump? they are allowing their own political bias to enter into this for those extreme levels of the democratic party to stop anything s from moving there are 800,000 americans who did not get a paycheck because nancy pelosi will not compromise she will not even put an offer on the table. what have they done every week they adjourn instead of staying here to solve the problem. judge: the amazing part it is almost as though the illegals are more important to them than the american citizens with the safety and sovereignty of this country. >> it is concerning to me. they'd rather have open borders they had an open government we have sat inside
9:35 pm
this room when we had our first meeting just to get the facts the minute secretary nielsen went to speak, speaker pelosi interrupted will not let her talk because they don't want to hear the facts that we finally get the facts after four meetings she says i don't believe it she says those are just the facts. what is most interesting speaker pelosi actually could not discuss it she was not elected speaker yet then when she was in the last meeting offered her what she wanted and said okay nancy, if i open the governmentay in 30 days could we have border security? she said not at all that's why he got up and left because they will not even compromise and from the concreten, wall two was steel slats you have heard
9:36 pm
democrats say they would support part of the wall. judge: absolutely. but theth amazing part is that the american people, 800,000 are not getting a paycheck and if 90 percent of the heroine and i don't know what percentage of fentanyl is coming from the southern border and we know there are gang members coming through, why isn't the american publico onto the fact they don't care about the american people? if chuck schumer cannot eyeball the president and cannot even look in hisnd eyes then the american people need to see what's going on. >> the american people understand because of the rules of the senate you need 60 votes the shutdown never would have taken placenl until senator schumer decided he would not provide the. vote when the republicans the house

were in the majority toha compromise they gave five.6 billion of border security so chuck schumer said no so they went into a shutdowne so they don't want to come back to the table. we could solve this in 15 minutes it would bebe over i will work with any american that wants to move america forward to secure the border and open the government. judge: how does this and? . >> how it should. to find compromise on both sides to secure the border just as president obama said it was a crisis it is a crisis you have to have border security. yes. we have seen it work in san diego, we know that w it works
