their beloved trump heater, james comey. that was despite his testimony that there was no evidence of collusion. for nine months they have looked into this and trump was not the target of the investigation. remember, even comey admitted the president could fire him for any reason. congressman john ratcliffe told our own catherine herridge, political bias infected senior fbi leadership and emotion, not evidence, drove their decision-making. now his closed-door interview with the former fbi council james baker revealed this. fbi senior leadership could not accept that comey was fired for cause, and the president had the constitutional authority to terminate comey. now president trump's former attorney john dowd has called

president declaring a national emergency is sidestepping the central problem which we will have for the next two years with speaker pelosi. you have a hard-line left-wing democratic party whose radical wing as well to the left of bernie sanders. they have no interest in governing, no interest in working with the president of the united states and frankly, what he ought to do is go back and look at the reagan playbook. when i was a junior congressman, we never got to o'neil's suppor support. we got a large block of the democrats who decided to vote for us and we pass things like that through your tax cut. now if you thought of kevin mccarthy, they said they want to legislate. well, let's give them a chance to legislate. but i think that the reagan model which is to go to the

model and find individual democrats, leadership will never cut a deal. de>> what about the shutdown aspect of it? indefinite? >> it's indefinite but i would frankly urged the leader mccarthy to m put together a discharge petition in the house every single republican to sign it that says, we are going to fund of the southern border and we are going to fund the government and we are ready to vote to do both.ts then start looking at other democrats the last four days came out individual individual, i can vote for the southern border. i can vote for the wall. he they say, they ought to stat looking at, what's the procedure

you look at that "new york times" story, it talks about the president. it's also what they are not covering. he pointed out earlier the lack of coverage, they have worked effectively with congress to get so many bills passed and so many pieces of legislation. and so little credit and acknowledgment is going right along with it. studies show anywhere from 80-90% of the coverage is negative and that doesn't jibe with reality. it's gotten worse under trump. consistently worst, with this attempt not just to cover the ndtruth and that stories but to find the negative narrative wherever they can. >> sean: any doubt, ari fleischer, that the media is working, hoping towards everything they can to destroy

the president? that's every second hour of every day. print, broadcast, cable. >> i think what you generally will see is, what did donald trump do today? not only the president but, as we are taking a look at racial issues, why isn't the press raising a stink about democrats that have been elevated to the leadership of the house democratic organization who met with a violent and racist lewis fair camp? you don't see the follow-up questions for reporters, why won't you distance herself? yourself? you don't see the pressure from the press on republicans that they do on democrats. >> those are just a small minor
