say that to start talks with the presidents now would be a reward for president trump after the government shutdown. president trump says the democrats are the ones who weren't allowing people to go back to work and shouldn't have rejected its offer before he made it yesterday. >> thank you so much. arthel: here's the fox news extreme weather alert. a massive and deadly snowstorm moving across new england after burying parts of the midwest causing thousands of flight cancellations and hundreds of crashes on the road. at least five people are dead from weather-related accidents. jacqui heinrich joins us in the newsroom at rfk. reporter: winter storm warnings and advisories were in effect for 15 days for misery to main as the storm pushed a spirit massachusetts is not just now, but extreme cold temperatures making things dangerous. the state's emergency management agency warns windchills could

fall to 30 degrees below zero. parts of vermont as 16 inches as now with snow falling two inches an hour. visibility was reduced to a half mile at times. the storm is pulling a lot of mild air into the mid-atlantic in a wintry mix of snow and rain. temperatures to sharply dropped this afternoon creating a flash for use in some treacherous road conditions. new jersey, pennsylvania, kansas and virginia declared a state of emergency in connecticut governor ned lamont told them to stay home with 27,000 people out of power. >> this could be a scary part right now is we think about the freezing wind and make sure we do everything we can to keep our go in and do everything we can to make sure major roads don't freeze over because that could be dangerous. >> airports are full of unhappy passengers dealing with cancellations and delays. tsa report ties to call some of the partial government shutdown. six major airlines have waived

on speaker pelosi because it would change the dynamics around the issue. but of course the question as you know is can mcconnell get these votes? can he get seven democrats to cross party lines? >> you think is fair? you think democrats represent the state that he won would go on? >> that isn't even a partisan opinion. i was doing my own reporting on the issue this week in steve banning of all people was saying democrats have no intention of giving a penny for the border while because even someone like gannon has become such a signature reissue that the democrats just don't feel there were political incentives for them to go along with it. >> and start or what you just said. democrats don't want to give a penny for a border wall. can you explain this? i ask a lot of people on the air about this. this is the office of the president for the border wall at

eric: the situation is again ramping up at the southern border. thousands of migrant and central america heading north again. the new caravan on its way towards the u.s. border after hundreds of central american migrants enter mexico from guatemala. griff jenkins is traveling with this caravan and is in southern mexico. >> the road to tijuana is hot in southern mexico just over 50 miles north of the border. you can see here many of the migrants cross over illegally on thursday as the band goes by. this is how so many migrants are

traveling. the unbelievable harsh conditions out here. there were some buses we saw earlier that were provided by the local government, seven or eight of them that the migrants 150 miles north to the next town. what were talking about now is a numbers game. you've got the 2000 migrants here we are marching with in san pedro to honduras. anyone darted today a thousand or more that started back to make the same trip and we are hearing there are according to officials 3000 ex hundred 91 at the migrants took up mexico's software to get temporary work visas registered at the port of entry. they will have one year to work and freely travel across mexico whether or not they also pursue a path towards tijuana or the united states where it is yet to be seen. one thing we are learning it
