if the abortion is necessary to protect the patient's life or health, but it gets worse, because health is broadly defined by the u.s. supreme court as all factors, physical, emotional, psychological, familial, a woman's age. now if the last part sounds ambiguous and open-ended, it is because it is. cardinal timothy dolan laid out just how gruesome this is writing the law, "to drop all charges against an abortionist who allows an aborted baby to somehow survive the scissors, scalpel, saline, dismemberment, to die before his eyes" before adding that the law even authorize nondoctors to perform the procedure. make no mistake about it, and at its core, this is about on demand abortion up until the birth when the child is viable outside a mother's womb. and look at how the new york legislature reacted when they passed the law. take a look. >> [applause]
