live shot of new york city, not that cold here yet. you are watching "fox and friends first" this wednesday morning, thank you for starting the day with us. let's get to the report, the white house sending migrants back to mexico. that is not stopping three separate caravans for marching closer to the border. griff jenkins live on the ground in mexico city, hoping to make their way into the us. >> reporter: that new policy has migrants thinking twice about crossing into the us but let me show you mexico city, one of the major sports areas, they are housing 2673 migrants where the last caravan and previous caravans of come. you can see the entrance where

heather: you are watching "fox and friends first," 4:15 in the morning, democrats celebrating a big win claiming the president caved to nancy pelosi on the border wall. after the 35 day shutdown new polls show more americans in the president's corner. why did he sign this deal without the wall funding? let's talk about these polls, specifically this one. democratic congressional districts backing donald trump's walked 53% approve. does that surprise you? >> know it doesn't. there are other polls, the nbc wall street journal poll shows there was one person who suffered the most during the government shutdown, that was nancy pelosi, not donald trump.

heather: nancy pelosi of disapproval jumped during the shutdown, post shutdown the disapproval was 47% following all the negotiation that didn't go anywhere pre-shutdown, at 41%. >> her approval rating dropped 6 points during the government shutdown in january. the number i always look at as a political consultant is the unfavorable to favorable ratio, completely upside down, that is not good. the majority of people polled think she has an unfavorable rating. interesting to see why donald trump of the government back to work. i think he did it for a long-term strategy. i think he is looking ahead to see what democrats will come back to the table with. heather: americans have the same

nancy pelosi -- heather: we mentioned the president. three different plans. you hear from nancy pelosi before the president makes his official announcement. we are not going to negotiate, that is all you hear and that is on the polling. one of 3 pollsters got the 2016 elections right as got the 2018 midterms right. and congressional democrats and nancy pelosi are to blame for the shutdown. as we go on donald trump may have pulled a wise move here, giving the democrats enough rope to tangle themselves between now and february 15th.
