eastern and corey lewandowski and a whole host and sean is back monday, live from washington, d.c., ahead of the president and the state of the union address on tuesday. as always, thanks for watching and have a great night. >> laura: i'm laura ingraham and this is the ingraham angle and live from florida, sarah paul for the democratic ralph northam to step down tonight not because of his outrageous comments endorsing earlier this week if you can believe it, but over this photo. discovered from his past late today. it is a yearbook photo from school. and on a conference call right now at this moment to discuss northam's fate and it hangs in the balance. he is offering an apology, but no resignation. health eta king denise

martin luther king jr. to tell us if that is enough. plus a remarkable job's report said the economic pessimist back on their heels, oh, boy is a good and president trump chief, with a message for all of them. i can't wait, nfl gearing up for the super bowl ongoing commit will be be fun. so why is colin kaepernick back and giving everybody headaches? breaks it down friday paul lays before four nfl quarterback lege theismann with me tonight reacting, but first, trump forces the democrats and media to show their real card. that is the focus of tonight's angle. you know the economic news, stunningly good, when even the anti-trump media has to concede the point. it's a really good report, starting this year a lot of hiring across the board, just

shredding off the government shutdown and privacy -- private industry hiring, 100 months of job creation, guys, that is remarkable. >> laura: that with a backdrop of another astounding jobs report, it made it a little tougher for cory booker's big announcement which was big, on doom and gloom. >> what my neighbors are concerned with and i hurt all around the country is that people in america are losing faith and that this nation will work for them. they are forgetting to believe that too many folks are going to get left out or left behind. >> laura: what? what country does he live in? has cory booker not been following the economic news the past 24 months, the past month or how about just today? well, let's help him get to speed, shall we? 340,000 jobs created january smashing all forecast, health care, leisure,

construction are all up, up, up. and also remember obama outed that trump can bring back manufacturing jobs but with today's new numbers, cnn had to concede this, manufacturing, especially in durable goods continued and now a two year long stretch of healthy growth. by the way, how does corey and the rest of the democratic field explain away that whole rise, compensation more in 2018 then it has since 2008. wages are up a whopping 3.2% year-over-year, wow. now, seems like yesterday, doesn't it, "the washington post" posting pieces like this. "be skeptical of trump's claim that wages will soar after he cuts taxes." and last year think tanks churning out papers morning,

economy. right now the trump economy is the envy of the world. so democrats like booker, it kind of an interesting guy. i will have to say that, he's an interesting person. they are in a strange position because trump has kind of taken a lot of issues excited dependents and blue-collar workers off of the table. because, look, the democrats will not outdo trump on border enforcement, trade, wages and certainly not the economy or manufacturing jobs. two years into the trump economy, most americans have more opportunity and more money in their pocket and so, the they should be less anxious and they should be happier, right? but democrats can't have that. no happy voters are allowed going into the 2020 election because happy voters means a trump reelection. so democrats are basically left with this. pay no attention to this booming economy because of racism and

thinking about, it's pulling the curtain back on the media, isn't it? we knew they were biased, but now we see them actively covering for the left radicalism. they don't really report on the virginia governor ralph northa northam's comments rationalizing and pants -- fantasizing but cover conservative pouncing on s comments. and judging by tonight's coverage, they are not able to do the same with yearbook photos that just surfaced. by the way, as long as we are talking about pouncing, it is reporters themselves who pounce any time any information services that could be bad for trump. it doesn't matter if it's on cooperated and complete them anonymously sourced or speculation, just go with it. donald trump knew about the infamous trump tower meeting. >> mvc news has come from michael cohen willing to come fm
7:08 pm
donald trump as a canada knew about that 2015 meeting between russians and top campaign aide at trump tower. >> laura: pulse come false, totally false. how about this, a blocked call don jr. received before the trump tower meeting must have been to his father. >> trump jr. said he didn't tell his father, but there was a mysterious phone call that trump jr. made to a blocked number right after he learned more about the meeting. >> laura: false, they find out today it never happened. how about this? the catholic boy provoked a fight with a poor, indian elder. >> indigenous elder and build a wall exposes it has nothing to do with border security and it seems like an issue of race and white supremacy. >> laura: false, completely defamatory. now, sure, trump prays the enemy

know, we are already rising. that was his big statement today, we are all going to rise. we just heard even your imaginary friend t-bone has found a job. maybe that is why he wasn't at your big announcement today. very sad. and that is the angle. >> are right joining me now howie kurtz fox news analyst and media buzz sunday here on fox news and u.s. attorney joseph digenova, how way, let me start with you. i feel like we say this way too much but it's not a good week for the media on a number of fronts. what stood out for you? >> clore by far the most egregious case has to do with late-term abortion bills in virginia and new york and i say this whether pro-life, pro-choice, reservation, this is a dramatic shift yet "new york times," "washington post" framing as only a case of partisan republican's objection to abortion rights even though instead of having a debate on
7:11 pm
the morality of allowing abortions even up to the day of birth as ralph northam says in a taped interview that we have all looked at. rather than allowing for that possibility and by the way, cnn, msnbc and major nate networks have barely touched the story, blatantly biased to be nonnews. >> laura: yeah, what about the latest news, joe, when we see a yearbook photo of ralph northam who just came off of this partial birth abortion controversy come allowed to skate away from that by the press? but then we find red school yearbook and we don't know if he is the kk guy or the black race guy but nevertheless an embarrassing photo for him. the double standard had this been a republican with that photo, he would never be seen again and probably have to change his name and moved to south america. there is a big tall going on in virginia about his fate.
7:12 pm
how about the media and what they will do the coverage of this, joe. >> joseph: well, let's remember ralph northam called it... be a racist and a bigot. ask yourself this question, how does a person like ralph northam live with himself knowing that he was either that guy in the clan outfit or black face he was an adult in medical school. this is not some youthful indiscretion. this is an adult acting as a racist. this is the governor of virginia. he is a racist and he needs to resign and if the democratic party in virginia can't figure that out, they don't deserve to govern, where is terry mcauliffe the great former governor. has terry ever been in blackface or worry ku klux klan outfit? this is an abomination after claiming killing a baby after birth is not murder, he then
7:13 pm
comes up with blackface break ku klux klan outfit, ralph northam needs to be gone and "the washington post" and all the richmond papers and "the new york times" will figure out a way to excuse it, but the american people know a racist when they see one. ralph -- ralph northam is a racist. >> laura: well, howie, it is beyond obvious that there is a wild double standard. somebody has subject to these kind of attacks unfairly. branded all sorts of horrible names. i mean, i deal with it everyday and i would say let's debate the idea and stop with the majority up. but in this case, you have a man who aired that very controversial ad and i know joe, you will remember it during the campaign. >> joe: i can't forget it, can't forget it. >> laura: where you have a pickup truck with a confederate flag flying over it and chasing,
7:14 pm
i believe, and african-american and that ad, muslim. it was the import of fact, this guy is either racist or racist like him so you have to vote for me. so they played the cynical game, and it is a trap that they set and they got caught in it. and i think a lot of it is unfair. i'm not going to say ralph northam is a racist, i'm not going to do that, because i think that word is thrown around. but i think that photo is obviously not a good photo. >> joe: if you are blackface or clan outfit you are a racist. >> laura: i don't know, i don't know what it is, but i do know this. the media has got to be cold on this. it is 25 years old, by the way -- >> howie: northam needs to say he was in the kk or blackface and it shouldn't be a whole another debate. >> laura: we don't know which
7:15 pm
one. well, it was 35 years ago, but compare that to some of the unsubstantiated allegations rolled at greg when he was in high school, did he have a beard, spiked the punch. i have heard a couple of commentators say since this broke he should resign and it is a dilemma for 2020 democratic presidential candidate cory booker, connell o'hara's because if they give him a pass very hypocritical because they have thrown around words like racism at the incumbent president and so come i think 2020 politics may force some democrats to be a little hardern the governor of virginia than otherwise might be. >> laura: joe, i also have to play thinking of where the media is going. all of these conspiracy theories and trump in russia. this is rache rachel mehta withd snap in the midwest. could russia and maybe trump be
7:16 pm
involved they are? i don't know, let's watch. what would happen if russia killed the power in fargo today? what would happen if all the natural gas lines that serve sioux falls just spoofed in recent memory and it wasn't in our tower to turn them back on? what would you do if you lost heat indefinitely as the act of a foreign power on the same day the temperature in your front yard match the temperature in antarctica? what would you and your family do? >> laura: i mean, pretty much anyone with a sophisticated person could hack into various power grids and do horrible things to countries including our own. we hope that doesn't happen. china can do it, ran can do it, russia can do it. that was an interesting way to pull in meteorological challenges we have had this week, joe. >> joe: rachel maddow is a loon, let's underscore loon,
7:17 pm
that rant that you just saw from the so-called intellectual msnbc was an example of how deranged the left has become over the president of the united states. let's remember that rachel maddow spent 30 minutes criticizing me, personally, on her show for claiming that susan rice had outed, unmasked a number of people. and she said it never happened. and of course, within 48 hours susan rice admitted that she had unmasked a number of people in the interest of national security. rachel maddow is a loon. what you saw, is an example of what happens when lunacy's or plans journalism. that was an abomination. but of course, nbc has tom brokaw as their senior person who apologizes regularly for saying the obvious. >> laura: all right, gentlemen, thank you so much.
7:18 pm
joining me reaction to all these developments and the government northam case, al vida king, niece of martin luther king jr. and she is a staunch pro-life advocate for so many years, al vida, the conversation we just had that someone like ralph northam deserves at this point to remain in office with both fantasized comments in the decade old photo from his yearbook. >> alveda: there is a serious question about the integrity of the governor who would say that if a child is born, there will be a conversation with the muslim -- mother and doctor to decide whether the child should live. we are talking every child in the womb or outside of the womb is a human being established by science, philosophy, religion and we know that. however, when the child is born to still deny that that is a
7:19 pm
human being is just very questionable, very serious, and that is a moral issue they are. morality is definitely an issue. so i believe the people of virginia needs to rise up and challenge that. and we all around america must challenge him as well. >> laura: well, i'll vida, we see this trend across the united states, new york, virginia, but still it will come back, you know it will, rhode island up in vermont, this is going to be sweeping the country. but at the same time, there is a photo that emerges after the democrats have lacerated conservatives for indiscretions of their use or statements taken out of context, branded trump a racist because he wants a wall. now we have a photo come again, it is many years ago, 1984, 25 years old, a picture of someone
7:20 pm
and him wearing a clan outfit and blackface, halloween or something like that, i have no idea. for you, what does that picture say, if anything come about his fitness for office? >> alveda: we might ask right now why that picture has emerged now at this time in history. and if we ask that question, there is definitely a problem with morality, the heart of the leader that can still demonstrate that their heart has not changed. let me say while we know the heart has not changed because the governor is now supporting legislation that would allow an infant baby to be killed in a decision of a doctor and a mother or whatever. >> laura: we know that, alveda but does that photo bother you? >> alveda: let me tell you why the photo bothers me. margaret the founder of planned parenthood was a consultant for
7:21 pm
planned parenthood. so no, she planned it planned parenthood but a consultant to the ku klux klan. now the governor inlaid with planned parenthood and other politicians that you just mentioned, and so they are fantasizing and abortions today. so it does not matter how old the photo is, but what is happening today that is still happening in that photo and again, happening right now. that is why the photo bothers me. ku klux klan is still in league with planned parenthood and anybody in planned parenthood is in league with ku klux klan. >> laura: alveda come i can say this i never thought we would get to this place so fast. speak >> alveda: we have to stop this, we are one blood andt separate races. killing our babies is wrong. president trump says we need to fight for the lives of the babies. >> laura: we have to do it. we have to do it.

it was not a shocker to me. the country is doing well. we have the strongest economy in the world by far. and with a strong in the world, so that was good, but those numbers were very, very impressive. >> laura: those impressive numbers included 304,000 on farm jobs added feeding the estimate of 170,000 and adding to the payroll for the 102nd on the label. wages up 3.2% as i said during the angle, labor participation rate highest in six years and the good news keeps rolling in but that was not enough for some of the said. >> new number show job growth picked up 100s consecutive month but all the news is good on this. >> this number 4,000 number is actually inflated due to the amount of part-time jobs that workers during the government

7:28 pm
unbound, okay. innovators, entrepreneurs, call it the face of the new trump economy. look at these numbers, for heaven sakes, we are not making this stuff up. it keeps going on. i want to make this point. i hear this all the time. the tax cuts are going to wear off. no, they are not. this is not a one time spending stimulus, okay? it's a supply side and we lowered the marginal rates. we created new incentives to work, to invest, to take risks, to start your own business, and guess what, the business tax cuts are permanent. okay, the business tax cuts are permanent. the individual tax cuts will go on for another five years or more. six years. so i just don't get this idea that they were going to wear off. nothing is wearing off. what is happening -- >> laura: larry -- >> policies are working. >> laura: but larry, they can't have happy boaters. i said this during the angle,
7:29 pm
they can't have happy voters in 2020. i need to convince voters and ignore the extra money in their pockets, ignore the opportunities and all of the competence and all of that, and ignore it all because racist and sexist around every corner because trump is into that. it is the victim apology grievance industry. that is what they are peddling but meanwhile, meanwhile you have people like poor old cory booker coming out today and says, well people just don't think this economy works for them. it only works for the upper income earners. is he not watching the news purposely? i don't even get that. >> larry: by the way, that is such an important point with respect to his misinformation. if you actually look inside the numbers, during the last two years when trump policies are in place, it is the blue-collar workers, it is the mainstream, mainline workers who are doing
7:30 pm
the best, okay? blue-collar employment is now running at the fastest pace since i was here the first time under reagan in the mid-80s. wages, wages, okay, for blue-collar workers, two income workers, wages are rising for them faster than they are for white-collar workers. so that is just completely false. this is benefiting the entire country. auto workers, manufacture workers, farmers, we have a really good trade deal. the usda will help farmers, ranchers, people that own their own business who don't have to fill out all the paperwork. clear out the debris and let americans take a look at the bowl and let them be entrepreneurs and let capitalism go. and i guess they don't want -- >> laura: capitalism, no, no. >> larry: it is working. >> laura: oh, no, that's the four-letter word.
7:31 pm
how does the administration feel about the new policy description from the far left? let's watch. >> larry: yeah. >> i want billionaires to stopping freeloaders. i want them to pick up their fair share. that is how we make a system that works not just for the rich and powerful but works for all of us. >> all i'm asking for is a little slice from the tippy tippy top. >> we could increase the taxes that people are paying who are the extremely wealthy in our community with 70%, 80%, as high as 90%. >> the 1% is paid their fair share of. >> laura: remember, larry, talking about asset seizure basically. this is a forfeiture of wealth made by others and bringing the government conference to do what they want. so making decision for other people taking their power away from them.
7:32 pm
70% to 90% taxation. >> larry: you know, i mean, you start taxing wealth like this, capital gains and inheritance taxes, all you are going to do is stop, stop the momentum of new investments in new risk taking and new companies and new businesses and new technologies. is that really what we want? the taxes in this country the lower 50% pay 3% of the income taxes. the top 1%, laura, they pay almost 40%. the top 10% pay about 80%. they are already paying the freight. how much do you want to unload on them? i would like to see a tax reform in years ahead. we can do better on that. and it would be like venezuela. a handful of military generals.

controversy from years past. we are fortunate enough to have an nfl legend here to help us break it all down. why are we still struggling with this? former redskins quarterback joe theismann joins us from atlanta, joe, it is great to have you on as always. i know where you were earlier tonight, by the way. i have evidence but i will not share that with the viewers, but i know where you were earlier tonight. the nfl -- [laughter] we have pathetic politicians in atlanta. i know they are all climbing on you tonight. having spent all this time this week dealing with what most of us thought was now an issue that was kind of put in the backseat. >> joe: well, i don't think the issue is going to be put on the back burner or in the backseat or anywhere out of people's minds until possibly the entire occlusion case is settled. and i think there is always

going to be an issue. we know that they are social injustices that need to be worked on in this country. that is no question. we are trying to move forward in an era to try to handle those things. and i stink as colin kaepernick made the decision and a choice to do what he did, i think we have to honor and respect that maroon 5 made a choice to decide what they wanted to do. and if we say colin kaepernick the flag has represented this country and the people in this country to be able to have the freedoms to save and do the things they want to do, i don't understand why that wouldn't apply to the guys who want to perform at halftime. you know, it is sort of amazing to me. i'm not surprised that the issue continues to go on because, not being a part of the league, colin kaepernick but the quality of play he had when he played, now it's almost three years ago. was of a better quality than what we see -- >> laura: yeah, yeah, but

people come i mean, people don't want politics in football. they don't want it. they have politics every minute of the day in the society through social media. this is a time for all of us to enjoy a game, see that sheer athleticism and all of the hard work these players, both teams have put in. and watch this amazing game. and i think that is part of it. nothing against colin kaepernick and i'm sure he is a nice person and nothing against what he believes in or any player believes in, but there has to be some moment where people take a breath and say, we are americans. let's all get together and root for whoever we want to root for and have a good time. i think the exhaustion with politics as part of what's going on here. >> joe: i think it is too. i think athletics has been a place to escape. you can get emotional. you can scream. you can yell. you can let all those frustrations out when you are at a ball game. and i think that is what is

going to happen as we move forward. here we are on this particular day 48 hours away and the conversation has come up come i think once we roll around to sunday and the game starts, it will be about the game of footb. we have two great teams playing in this football game. there were four great teams in the afc championship game. >> laura: with got to talk about it. >> joe: yeah -- >> laura: we have to talk about the saints, the heartburn moment, they agree just missed call, joe, i know. it was a tearjerker. how did they handle this? i'm going to play it for the viewers if everybody is on board of what we are talking about. commissioner goodale with horrific pass interference call. let's watch. >> whenever officiating is part of any kind of discussion postgame, it is never a good outcome for us. technology is not going to solve all those issues. the game is not officiated by

robots. >> laura: well, that is leadership for you, joe. i think a lot of people watching goodale said this is what a leader is required to do is step up at a time like this and give people a sense that that kind of travesty doesn't happen again. i happen to be a big saints fan, but it doesn't matter. that is about right and wrong in football. what are your thoughts on this? >> joe: it was deathly wrong. it was egregious. as a matter of fact there is a pass interference and helmet to helmet. but in the playoffs, they let him play a little bit more. i really believe they should. in this case, it was definitely wrong. we saw the hit on tom brady kansas city/patriots game. was that really roughing the passer? there are always these questionable calls. this one was so obvious and that to me though her break up this whole situation, as a coach as a mistake you live with it but as a player to make a mistake you live with it. but when you do everything that you do right to create the opportunity for yourself to be

able to advance and something out of your control happens it exacerbates the situation monumentally. and i can understand why the saints fans are upset. i can understand they want something to happen. there will be a change. i think what was roger really going to say? what i found interesting he talked about coaches argument come officials are human, well, if they were human why do we have technology in the game? let's just go back and let the humans do with the way they did ten, 20 years ago. i believe they will do something different. i have a real quick solution to that. you keep the two challenges that coaches have. if they were successful, they get a third. don't change that. but give them one more. outside the realm of challenge a bowl plays, you have one in your pocket just in case something like this comes up. all right -- >> laura: joe, joe this is my first super bowl and i've never been but i'm going and i'm very excited. maybe i will see you there.
