a statement offered after that it was never serious, it was sarcastic. but mccabe in our interview said no. it came up more than once and it was so serious he took it to the lawyers at the f.b.i. to discuss it. >> brian: wow! now through, now andrew mccabe trying to walk back the comments to a degree, claiming his 25th amendment talk was taken out of context. dan bongino not buying it. author of "spay gate: the attempted sabotage of donald trump." he joins us now. does andrew mccabe not remember the last time we saw him, being fired because he lied? >> he has a credibility problem, brian. according to the multiple reports out there he is investigated by grand jury for lying about leaks to the media. he has a credibility problem. this is the same guy whose wife ran for office as democrat, took substantial money from people connected to the democrat and the clinton machine and refused to recuse himself from that case investigating mrs. clinton until the end of the year.
2:31 am
the most important take-away from this is of course andy mccabe is trying to walk this back. this guy is not that bright. he just admitted in a "60 minutes" interview to taking part in a coup attempt. that is the hard facts. there is no way to weasel out of this. >> we'll see sunday. but this is the walk-back. ready? he was present and participated in a discussion that included a comment by deputy director rod rosenstein, attorney general, regarding the 25th amendment. it wasn't a big mention but mentioned once. rosenstein said i said i would overthrow the government but i said it sarcastically i'd wear a wire. i don't like either side. >> when i go to dinner with my friends i don't casually bring up, you want to rob a bank? don't worry, i'm just kidding. some things the dep tu of the director of the f.b.i. give him a pro tim. not a good idea from a former
