william rick singer. he's cooperating with federal authorities, apparently naming names. laurie laughlin appeared in court. she wasmo released on a $1 milln bond. the same as r. kelly. they were abuse caused -- accused of paying $1 million so their kids could get into stanford. they never played on the rowing team once. fellow actress was arrested at gun point during a raid by multiple fbi agents after she was accused of paying thousands of daughters to -- thousands of dollars to take her daughter's a.s.a.t. scores. students may get kicked out of the college. that should be the least of theirhe worries.

the parents will be facing up to 20 years behind bars. 50 people have been charge, including multiple college athletic coaches, a school administerrer, and they claim to have successfully serviced over 800 clients who paid him tens and tens of thousands and inso some cases millions of dollars. unbelievable. why? i guess foror status and braggig rights to tell their friends their privileged children got into the best schools, even though in reality they weren't good enough academically or athleteically to do so. they stumped on the futures of other people. there's only so many spots at each school. kids whoal had to work for everything, kids who put in the time academically or athletically talking about thousands and thousands of hours, studying, training, and earning their grades or a position in their sport.

kids who spent all of the time on and off of the field to better themselves and enrich the school with hair incredible athletic i ability. kids who played sports competitively. most kids now focus on one sport since about the time they are seven. i know. because i've lived through it. if found guilty, those in the scandal are the new faces of greed, corruption, and selfishness. even fake news cnn don lemon summed it up like this this. >> this is an american that can be deeply unfair. if you have money, you can buy anything. just about everything is for sale. including integrity for sale. a lot of people have reasons to believe them. system is rigged against them. this is what donald trump tapped into.

bring that charge. they needed a new standard. congress pan radcliffe asked quote you are making it sound like it was the department that told you you are not going to charge gross negligence which is in the statute because the prosecutors were telling you we're notot going to. paige said that's correct. it was headed by attorney general lynch. yes, the same attorney general that met days before the decision on a tarmac in phoenix with bill clinton supposedly 45 minutes talking about grandchildren. this was in the final days of the investigation. the same person that asked james comey, don't call this an investigation. we call it a matter. really? that was an investigation. should have been. the same person who reports directly to barack obama. tonight we now add a very important new component to the

entire deep state issue. what did barack obama know and when did he know it? this now takes it straight to the former president and the oval office, barack obama. thanks to paige, we also know that the top fbi investigation, her boyfriend, viewed the investigation into trump russia collusion. that was the influence policy that we knew they talked about. and they join the russian investigation in order to build the case to impugn and potentially impeach the dually elected new president of the united states assuming that all their work in theni release of l of those lies and all of that propaganda and the dossier they disseminated to influence the american people before the vote in 2016. only problem here is there was collusion. it wasn't trump russian collusion. according to paige, the fbi had absolutely no evidence after they started an investigation after exonerating hillary.

it began in july of 2016. trump russia collusion. by the way, they went through may of the next year. they found no evidence. this is before bob mueller was ever appointed. they found nothing. here we are 665 days later into what is mueller's intensive investigation, still zero signs of collusion. rand paul said today this should never happen to an american president in the country. this is the biggest abuse of power corruption scandal that we've ever seen. also the conclusion of the house intel committee, devin nunes' committee. the bipartisan senate investigation. no russia collusion. for months some people they've been trying to tell me mueller is a good and honorable person. he served the country, sempri

fi. why would he hire a former collin toy lawyer? you have to wonderan if mueller has paid attention to all of the abuse of power. soon we'll know the answer. it is not a good sign that mueller appoints a guy like andrew wiseman. remember enron and the accounting case. tens of thousands of people lost their job. this guy withheld evidence. then he put four executives in jail for a full year. that was over turned by the fifth circuit. why would -- why would he ever be hired by mueller?

committee. did they taint the clinton e-mail investigation because they are afraid if they indicted her she would lose an election they wanted her to win. you are going to get answers to that the best i can give them to you. >> sean: that was brought to a higher level. does she need her text and e-mails? does she need to be put under oath? whatat information did she giveo the former president of the united states? what did obama know and when did he know it as to all of this. >> here's the question that i've got: why would you decide not to charge her before you even talk to her? the point is it seems to me they were going to make sure it didn't go too far. that the department of justice underh loretta lynch was never going to let the e-mail investigation go too far. before they talked to her, apparently they decided not to charge her.

when they did talk to her, they talked to her without being under oath. they gave a lot of people immunity in the clinton e-mail investigation for no good reason. what i think happened. i think the clinton e-mail investigation was short circuited because they didn't want to compromise her ability to win the election. they started the beginning of the russian investigation before he won as an insurance policy in case he did win. >> sean: here's another problem. this is why releasing the fisa which i believe, -- i don't know why the president hasn't signed off. i guessss that's forthcoming. >> he might. >> sean: i hope he did. in bruce orr's testimony, we thought we knew. now we know. he warned everybody in 2016. hillary paid for it. it is tainted. nobody hasor verified it. nobody has corroborated it.

scandal. your thoughts? >> you know, sean, when i look at the breaks newsing i approach it as a journalist. what do we know? then i start to ask questions. one is about the role of charity. that's interesting because it is something that i've seen come up in other stories and scandals; right? this is a very well used method of hiding money or disguiding money. that's very interesting to me. that aspect of this is particularly interesting. then, of course, i really wonder as a journalist, my other question is how big is this? who are the other people in the colleges that knewth about this? and how far does this extend?

unfortunately, you know, the next question for me is i know the law enforcement has indicated many of the kids didn't know what their parents were doing. what about the t ones who did? what about the ones who were given more time to take a test when they didn't have a learning disability? what about the ones who were given the answers to an s.a.t. test or, you know, who knew that someone else was taking the test for them. if those things did happen which, you know, the fbi has said they did, then it raises thee question as to whether or not those children will be charged. there are other college students who have been charged with other crimes in the past. once they sign the forms, there's a question of responsibility and consequences there.

>> that's right. i agree. you know as a parent, sean, these parents did no favors to their children. what they did was just set them up for failure. it also told them that they weren't worth it. that they -- you know, working hard wasn't necessary. they weren't good enough to actually make it. i t think there's a new frustration around the country with each looking at this and saying we worked so hard. it was completely rigged. it is rigged for people who had the money and who had the access. like lara said, i wonder how many more of these establishments like william singer had. >> sean: let me ask you both about legacy? if mom and dad and grandma and grandpa gave enough money, they helped the kids all the time. >> that's true. not just legacy.

also politics. there are people so famous that their children walk into any college and don't get there on their own merit. this is part of the much bigger system of privilege and favor with college kids all over the country listening to the story and they are going, yeah, like everybody knows this; right? true. this k has been going on for so long. >> i don't think we're going to be able to fix everything; right? that's just a part of the human makeup. we know things like this happen. we know things like legacies happen or people get in because their families have a particular name or particulare status. i think what is so significant here is what the fbi did. the fbi is holding these people accountable. >> sean: then you could pass -- if you've worked hard academically and worked hard to enrich the school with some athletic ability or you don't. if you need to -- you'll find out this in two seconds if the kids played the border or if the
