through with a fine tooth comb before it is eventually handed out to congress. there's also a fight on the road the white house is expecting as congress already is saying, we need to see the entire mueller report and maybe they will ask on top of that, we need to see all of the investigative materials that led to the mueller report. in includes a lot of classified information, a lot of executive privilege and a lot of conversations with white house officials. they may disclose conversations the president has had. that really goes to the core of the idea of executive privilege pair then of course the democrats will continue to investigate the trump administration on a number of different fronts. a law enforcement source tells fox news earlier today that they do not have the power to have a grand jury also do not have a lot of other powers so if robert mueller with all the investigative tools at his disposal, could find nothing to charge the president with, what are the democrats going to

dershowitz knows what is in the mueller report. but at the moment, none of us still does. we have not seen it. we do not know what the special counsel is going to conclude or what he is recommended to others who are investigating the president or people around him. what we do know is that despite what i call the mueller mania among so many of our colleagues in the media, we have had several facts. and the facts are, since robert mueller began his investigations, two years ago, we've had more than 35 indictments. we have had five of the presidents advisors either pleading or being convicted of crimes. we know that there are many other investigations already underway. of course, republican and those sympathetic to them will say it is over, it was not -- it was

that there are many other venues of investigation. many other paths. i'm not willing to say at this point that no one else will be indicted by any other panel or any other prosecutor in the united states. we just don't know that yet. and i think the media has made a mistake is jumping to conclusions about what is illegal about what people around the president or the president has done. let's wait until we see some of the facts. and let's continue trying to establish facts. many of the investigations -- sorry. many of the investigations into the presidents finances, the inaugural committee.there are many other venues but i don't want to jump ahead of the mueller report which i really want to wait to see and read. jon: jackie kingston is a georgia republican who is saying that the white house can celebrate but ought to be muted. listen. >> the white house is absently

they're not satisfied with what general attorney releases they can subpoena the report itself. and frankly, i think they'll one on that. because the investigative powers of congress are very broad, and the courts will likely uphold that power as long as it is related to some legislative purpose. however, what i've heard reported in, and seen more recently, is the house democrats are now talking about trying to get even all of the underlying documents e-mails possibly even grand jury testimony, that should not be released for a number of about ares and that i think they'll lose on, but the report itself if they're not happy with how much is released congress can subpoena it both senate and the house could issue a subpoena if they wanted to see whole report. >> you say that you think that the courts would agree with that. but congress -- passed this law congress is one that created special counsel so if congress, i mean, wouldn't court look at it say if congress wanted to see everything they should have written that into

lawmakers in just about everybody in washington are awaiting for a letter from attorney general william barr briefing them on the principle conclusions of the just completed mueller report. we're being told those could arrive as early as tomorrow. joining us now republican congressman from new york, peter king he's a member of the house homeland security committee. so we know there will be no further indictments coming from robert mueller what is that say to you? >> to me makes it pretty clear that there were no findings of collusion of conspiracy, between president trump and his campaign and russia. and that was the entire purpose of this investigation. and none of the indictments brought pride to this set with conspiracy, collusion with russia, or obstruction of justice, with anybody in the trump campaign, and now the fact that these closing his investigation ending so your investigation with no further indictments means as far as i'm concerned no basis for investigation in the first place

appearing but i would be surprised if that wasn't the case. >> what do you think about the idea of subpoenaing roberts mueller to appear before congress? >> i understand what he's saying if there aren't questions about findings to ask bob mueller about them that's not asking them to reopen the investigation but starting to investigation -- but it would be to clarify or add more substance to his findings and it is inclusions, and i think that's appropriate. i mean, there's no -- i think, though, i'm afraid it would turn into a show but having said that on its face there's no problem with that at all bob mol kier handle himself. he will be a professional and ironic for two years all of the democrats in media saying wait for mueller report. wait for mueller report now it come out to bring in bob muller to find out why he didn't indict prurp and why didn't he find sphears. i mean, these guys are never going end. after bob mueller and be something else. they want to run are out the clock. between now and election day, 2020 just having investigation

after investigation, of president trump and they want to try to keep mueller investigation open. fact is the report is in, i expects almost all of it if not all of it to be released to be made public except for certain, certain legal restrictions but other than that, it is gibing to going to be out there to find a sentence or paragraph or semicolon as excuse to have offchute of investigation but i think from political perspective, this is a tie president trump out but i think it will backfire on democrats they continue to do this. look as if they are obstructionist they have their best shot and best prosecutor in the country with all of the money, all of the material l all of the support, all of the powers of a prosecutor and it has not been one finding of collusion so to me i'm not sure how it all began so if that doesn't end and american people say let the president do his job. >> but some democrats say look we want to subpoena robert mueller but we want to subpoena his documents. we want to subpoena the e-mails
4:49 pm
we want to -- find out you know sources and methods that he used to conduct this investigation. is that going a bit too far? >> i think it is also means they don't trust bob mol or after telling us for two years to wait for bob mueller report now saying they don't trust him and a real issue about how much to give a grand jury testimony but suppose there's evidence that was obtained from a source that we have who is in an intelligence agency and another country. you certainly can't give that up but i would say that unless it is something like that. it would be given out but again you may have had grand jury testimony that was salacious and entirely untrue about about somebody who is collateral to this investigation. hysterically they don't make that public amidst idea of it if it isn't proven it shouldn't be made public and a rumor coming out there but i think it is done responsibly no one has ever questioned attorney general's attorney general barr's integrity, or his great -- legal ability. but again as i say i don't think
