"the ingraham angle" from washington. we have a big show but not from the border. we have jared kushner, senior adviser to president trump. he sat down exclusively with me today. you'll hear his first comments since the mueller probe concluded, his first reaction to a new report about his security clearance and how the president's first-step program could actually reset the entire electorate as we know it, this is ahead of 2020. of course, all of the stories of redemption on top of that. the president's pick for the fed, steve moore, is coming under increasing attack. what began as policy critiques have become far more personal. he's here to react. first, unbecoming joe biden.

that's if focus of tonight's angle. former vice president joe biden's presidential campaign is already facing a serious test. he hasn't even officially declared yet. though he has the highest poll numbers in the crowded democratic field, he has a touch and go problem. lucy flores, who ran for lieutenant governor of nevada in 2014 is accusing biden of unwanted physical contact when he came to stump for her during the campaign. back stage, flores maintained that he put his hands on her shoulders, smelled his hair and planted a slow kiss on the back of her forehead. five years later with the me too movement still in full bloom, flores said it made her feel uncomfortable. that's not all. >> i want him to acknowledge that it's wrong. we don't want you to touch us,

don't touch us. >> you think this is disqualifying for him? >> for me it's disqualifying. >> laura: talk about biting the hands that feed you or electing you. flores only claims that biden made her feel uncomfortable. i don't know. was this discomfort and forgotten if she won? i guess we'll never know. bide den issued statements. he claimed over his decades long career, never did i believe i acted inappropriate. we have developed in an important time where women should relate their experiences and men should pay attention and i will. over the weekend, several female biden allies made the rounds. they vouch for his character insisting that he was never disrespectful towards women. on cnn, just earlier this

evening, former obama com system director jen saki had her own times with joe. >> they were times he grabbed my hands, probably kissed the back of my head. i never thought anything of it. i didn't find it creepy. but i was in the administration. the experiences is one where he was trying to lift people up and make them feel comfortable and help people go through emotionally difficult times. >> all kirsten power wants is a better behavior and a better apology. >> people can look and see that this is not the same thing as sexual assault or even really sexual harassment that we've talked about so much. i wish that biden would offer a more full apology instead of treating it like i'm sorry if you felt that way apology. just say look, i see that this is inappropriate. i shouldn't do this to people. >> laura: okay.

apologies. they're pouncing. >> i believe lucy flores. and joe biden needs to give an answer. >> i believe lucy flores. we need to live in a nation where people can hear her truth. >> i have no reason not to believe lucy. i think what this speaks to is the need to fundamentally change the culture of this country. >> sean: fundamentally change the culture of this country. what was miss flores real motivation for telling her truth? are we not sick of that phrase? here she is today. >> personally, i do not believe that he should run. i'm very progressive. so i believe an agenda that takes into account the changing culture that we are experiencing right now, that women are feeling like we can speak up for ourselves. >> sean: did you see that both sanders and flores spoke of

changing the culture. again, hmmm. i wonder why their thoughts are so aligned? are we allowed to bring up that lucy flores is a huge bernie person and she has political connections that might be counter -- are we really going to do this? democrats, you have to ask yourselves, what exactly is the line? the me too line you want to draw. you will list and die by that line. >> laura: joe biden is about to politically perish on that line. democrat fanatics see him as one of the last remaining stumbling blocks to creating a socialist utopia. they need to stop him before he even enters the race. today another woman named amy lapos came out of the wood work alleging that biden touched her

inappropriately ten years ago at a fund raiser. we'll get into other comments she made later on. my prediction, the drip drip of allegations will not stop. pie den, instead of smashing back at the obvious political nature of these accusations is blaming now through his spokesman conservatives. here's a quoted. these smears have stayed in the dark recesses of the internet for a while. trolls continue to exploit them. that's not going to help, joe. it's the far left, not the right, that is devouring you now. we just thought it was funny. okay? the crazies that never left campus, they're redrawing the lines right now. a policy of speech and conduct. not just for the democratic field but for the rest of us, too. joe biden doesn't mind when the

left wing activists are hitting conservatives with allegations. when the tables are turned on him, oh, boy, we see him scramble to save himself. i kind of feel sorry for him. if he didn't enable this poisonous p.c. culture for all of these years. now it's time to wake up. or sit this one out. that's the angle. all right. joining me now with reaction, dan bongino and chris hahn, former aide to chuck schumer. dan, it's fun to watch this. but i have to share with you, really quickly, my own touch and go moments with joe biden. this was many -- this is probably ten years ago. i wrote about it in a book. a party in washington. i was at george will's house. biden saw me at the entrance way to the party. this is when jay carney was his press secretary.

so biden comes up to me or i went up to him and he put both hands on my shoulders and he said god's honest truth, laura ingraham you're my favorite of the right wing crazies. he's funny. that's who he is. but now that is being used against him by the people that want to knock him out on the left. i got to say, it's rich but probably undeserved. >> i believe it, laura. he strikes me as the close talker guy. you know the dreaded close talker. but the problem i think joe biden is going to have is the left is now married to two things. he fails on both fronts. they're made to identity politics and the me too culture. remember the obama's clean comment? i don't know what he meant by that. who talks like that? you can't go to delaware without a slight indian accent?

on the me too front, i agree with you. biden is probably socially inept frankly and awkward around people. that's obvious. the problem he's going to have is the left married itself to this women must be believed culture. the right has never accepted that. they say women should be heard and evidence should be believed. by the way, joe biden included. the problem biden will have is, these photos are everywhere. there is evidence of him being a little creepy. it's all over the place. that will hurt him. >> laura: chris, during the kavanaugh confirmation hearing, joe biden said christine blase ford should be given the benefit of the doubt 30 years later. this is five years later in the case of miss lapos, ten years later. so all is fair in love and politics, i guess. >> politics ain't bean bags.

if you want to be president, you have to go through fire to get there. if joe biden wants to be president, he's going to have to go through fire. yeah, there are a lot of things out there that show him being a close talker, a little touchy feely. something that was totally acceptable at one point and today is probably not. women are saying they might have felt uncomfortable around him and should be believed. nobody is accusing him of actually sexually assaulting anybody -- >> sean: wait a second, chris. they should be believed. i have a real problem with this whole my truth thing. any time someone says this is my truth, you can't ever question them. as if truth isn't objective. what truth -- truth according to whom on who time line? i want to say about mrs. lapos who is the individual that he claimed he made her uncomfortable in 2009. here's a quote from her in the hartford current. she said biden supports women

and gender equality, he would step aside and support one of the many talented and qualified women running. now, is that miss lapos feeling offended ten years later or she wants a woman -- >> there's no doubt whatsoever that some of these attacks are politically motivated. there's no doubt whatsoever that lucy flores, a huge bernie sanders supporter and is as you pointed out speaking the same language. so i don't have any doubt. that said, that is politics. you have to go through fire. you have to deal with it and how you push back on it determines if you're going to be president or the candidate. he has not pushed back well. not on this or other things. that speaks to his ability to get elected president of the united states. this is not an easy task for him or anybody else. whoever comes out of this primary will have to deal with this, whether they're a man or

next guest. today i sat down with the president's son-in-law, senior adviser jared kushner to talk about that law, his reaction to the mueller report and more. >> jared, great to have you with us. thanks for joining us. you don't do a lot of interviews. >> it's my pleasure. >> laura: you have a big event. the big celebration. a bipartisan celebration in the white house, which is great. i don't think we have enough of them. we'll get to that. it's a historic day in my ways. we have to get to some of the news of the day first. the left is going crazy about this security clearance issue. a whistle blower from the white house has given a private interview on capitol hill to democrats. she says 25 individuals were able to leap frog over the career people's concern about security clearances and they received security clearances in her view improperly.

what is your reaction? >> what i can say is that over the last two years that i've been here, i've been accused of all types of things. all of those things have turned out to be false. we've had a lot of crazy accusations that we colluded with russia. i complied with the investigations, the senate, the house, sat for 20 hours of interviews. when i came to washington i had a successful business career, extensive holdings. i disclosed my holdings to the office of government ethics. what i did to that, they told me what to divest, what to keep. >> laura: she said there were grave concerns. she has grave concerns about potential national security implications. do you pose a grave national security concern to the country, jared kushner? >> anymore the white house. i work with phenomenal people. the last two years, the president has done a phenomenal

job identifying the national security priorities. i hope i played a good part in pushing those objectives forward. because of the president's leadership, the world is safer today. >> laura: you get the sense that the democrats keep moving the goal posts? it strikes me as interesting as this comes out today as mueller fizzles. >> what i learned, there's people in america care about and what people in the media and washington care about. >> laura: i read on what cnn was saying about it after it passed. it was like they couldn't believe that donald trump would do something that would happen disadvantaged people, people that made big mistakes, criminal mistakes, and it's almost like they didn't want to believe it could have happened. does that disapoint you? even when something that should be bipartisan is still viewed in

a negative light? odd. >> when he was approached with this issue and he saw how a lot of people in prison didn't have the skill set and had so many obstacles preventing them got back on path, he said yeah, let's invest the resources to help them succeed. he's a very competent executive and something that he did because he has a big heart. >> laura: how much of it because of your dad and your dad went to prison, he was convicted, he served time. what does he say about these kinds of issues with you? >> that was a big part. that is why i was exposed to the issue. had i just come in as a government employee hearing from the top down and what a great job they were doing, i probably would have believe that. so much more we can be doing. my experience with my family's situation is i met a lot of different families a lot of people that a lot of them are

good people. they made a mistake. the toll that it weighed on them and their families disproportionate. >> laura: what is the president's thinking on the border closing? he is sent out a lot of tweets about closing the border. where is he on that? >> i think the president has made increased awareness to the issue. he's weighing all options, which is -- >> laura: pressuring mexico. is this to presentation sure mexico? >> no. one of the things i like about the president, when there's a problem, he makes people confront it. he's creative about ways to find a solution. >> laura: are you going to get the usta through congress? >> to craft a deal, i have to give a lot of credit to president to negotiate the deal. i have to give a lot of credit to ambassador lighthizer. he negotiated the deal and architecting what kind of deal he thought would appeal to the

constituents. what we're seeing with the deal is it's something that is a world class trade agreement, great for farmers and industry and great for technology. it's all of these things that will allow america to be independent. >> laura: we have the sound bite on msnbc, a reporter there. this is what he just said last couple days about the usmca. let's watch. >> talking about the president and his inability to see humanity. he's very easily able to see the economics of stories like this one. you look at what has happened with the u.s. mexico canada trade deal, it's falling apart. the president's twitter feed as a guide here. that may well be what spurred the president to make this threat. >> laura: he was talking about closing the border there. he brought up the close the border issue because the usmca is "falling apart." is there any truth to that? >> no. the future that i love, we built in a 16-year sunset.

if you have a great asset, we don't want to sell it. what we to here, we really lease our market access. we do that every 6 years, have a fair market value renewal to rebalance. >> laura: you were instrumental in the president's run in 2016. what do you see in this democrat field? any interesting characters, some more than others that you'd like to run against? >> we looked at 2020. we figuring out how do we keep building the best way possible. the president will have a fabulous campaign and he has the country on the right track. a lot of the different policies i see, a lot of these democrats advocating for or offering, i don't think that's where the country is. >> laura: socialism. >> i don't think that's where the country is. one statistic that i found pleasing, more of the -- in florida they passed allow where former felons can vote. we've had more ex-felons

clearance or anything, are you prepared to go to court to defense executive privilege and separation of power? >> one of the great things in working in washington, there's so many talented people. we have great lawyers in the white house. they'll answer that question. >> laura: would you testify on capitol hill if they ask you? >> i've complied with the special counsel and the congressional investigations into the russia investigation. that was a very serious accusation that goes to the core of democracy. that is one that we thought was important to go with. we were fully compliant. >> laura: the media and this administration. a lot of ink has been spilled. barrel and barrels of ink has been spilled. i've spoken a lot about it on my show and on the radio over the years. it seems now that it's almost comical in it wasn't so serious. this is something that jake tapper said over the weekend about cnn's coverage, just focus

on the mueller situation. let's watch. >> i'm not sure what you're saying the media got wrong. the media reported what was going on in the investigation. other than the people in the media on the left, not on this network, i don't know anybody that got thing wrong. yes didn't say there was conspiracy. we said mueller was investigating conspiracy. >> the media got the election wrong. they thought hillary clinton was going to win. their data was wrong. their analysis was wrong. not a single person got fired. not a single person apologized. we're in a very unique time. people let their hatred for trump overtake their rationale ability to look at things objectively. i think that when the dust settles and this whole administration is over, i think people will look back on these historic gains that have been achieved. the other hand you can say the

media is so distracted with russia, russia, russia and all of these crazy conspiracy theories, we've been able to operate under that level and just really be effective. the number of teams that cnn wrote things about me that i said that is not true, they said we have a source. it is what it is. i hope that going forward and everybody will look at it and have cooler heads and focus that we're on the same team. >> laura: you can't really defend yourself from the accusations. >> america is the greatest country in the world. when it's done, nobody will say was there a good story or bad story. they'll look back and say what did you accomplish. i accomplished a lot of things i calm to do. >> laura: jared, thank you. >> thank you, laura. >> laura: here's saul weisberg, kim strassel, columnist to the

this is very interesting. in the portion of mueller's record that barr quotes in his letter, he goes beyond criminal conspiracy. mueller says there's not even any coordination between trump campaign officials and the russians even though there were several attempts by the russians to bait them. let's she the full report. i have faith in bill par. even these broader claims by schiff will be proven to be untrue. >> laura: kim, what i noticed in talking to kushner, there's this sense of relief. i ran into emmett flood, a later working on this on the way out. an old friend. we clerked together many years ago in the second circuit. you can see like a bounce in their step. it's been a weight on this administration, i don't care what they say and now they're free to speak about it. what is your sense about that aspect of it? part of it being pulled off

their shoulders for the time being? >> kushner was right in what he said. there was vindication here. adam schiff can say what he will and continue to beat that drum. but the results in the report is there was no evidence of collusion or coordination, no conspiracy and there's not going to be any obstruction charges brought as the attorney general made clear. so they are in the clear. i think that is why you see democrats so sour and in fact making these kind of crazy allegations because they have nothing left. that's also why you now see them demanding that barr turn over and unredacted copy of this report to them first. you know why they want to do that, laura. they want to take a bit here or there, leak a juicy tidbit and try to craft a new narrative. they know the overall conclusion doesn't help. >> laura: keep it going. to that point, sol, chuck rosenberg, senior official on

the mueller report, on msnbc this afternoon. i want your comment on this. >> it's never taken me 400 pages to say nothing happened. so i imagine something happened and that something particularly with respect to obstruction was quite serious. i don't believe for a minute that if mueller had facts that exonerated the president on obstruction he would have hesitated to say so. >> laura: sol, you know about this game. tell us. >> i know chuck. i'm appalled by his comments. barr made it very clear in his four-page summary. he said mueller is not -- mueller is not -- will not reach a conclusion on obstruction. he laid out facts in support and facts against. so i think barr made it very clear, there's going to be a really detailed factual summary of what president trump did. you'll see it there. i think barr has said you'll see it. barr did make the call, he's the attorney general. next to president trump, he's

the chief law enforcement officer in the country. if mueller wasn't going to make the call, there's nobody else but bill barr that should make the call. it's clearly a correct call. the president, if all he did is fire comey and have a conversation with comey about michael flynn and try to get jeff sessions to change his mind about recusal, that cannot be obstruction of justice whoever his motive is. >> laura: kim, this idea of releasing the underlying documents or notes, you can see -- the grasping at thin air here, trying to. like kushner was getting at. always the next thing. it's not judge this administration on its merits. in a way, it's allowed them to do things like the usmca. it's allowed them to do things like the dereg movements that should help this economy move. in a perverse way, their

obsession with russia has kind of let the administration do a lot more good stuff on the economy. that's really worked. >> you just put your finger on the biggest question facing democrats in this next cycle. will they continue to beat on this? even after mueller, even after it's clear that there's no there there. knowing that this by the way has not necessarily helped them up till now. what have they gained from it? not necessarily anything. are they going to keep doing that or are they going to talk about their own policies and attempt to tell voters why they should be elected to the white house next year? that's not happening. we know from the top meetings from the top democrats, there's a sense of worry among the rank and file that the democrats have no idea what the democratic agenda is. so they have to make a choice. nancy pelosi has a tough one. she has members -- this is a

qualifications. and they got nowhere with that. so what has happened in the last week or two has been this series of personal attacks. >> laura: do you pay your taxes? >> we were owed money by the irs. >> laura: what is this 75,000 in unpaid -- >> we've been in dispute with the irs for three years. we think they way overcharged us. our accountant thinks we're in the right. we can't get an answer from the irs. what happened in the last couple days, is the reason i wanted to come on the show. it's is vile and vicious and underhanded. some reporter got ahold of midi investors settlement ten years ago. divorces are ugly things. nasty things were said. we alerted the media. my wife and i, we have reconciled. all of our disputes were settled. leave us alone. this doesn't have anything to do with whether i'm qualified to be
