tv   The Ingraham Angle  FOX News  April 1, 2019 11:00pm-12:00am PDT

11:00 pm
she's getting into a car after a night out with friends. she thought it was the uber she ordered. found dead hours later. so heart breaking. thoughts and breyers to that family. we're not the hate trumpmedia mob. laura ingraham, how are you? >> i'm all right. i was supposed to be at the border. >> sean: why didn't you go to the border? >> laura: i have the flu. >> sean: you really do? >> laura: yeah. >> sean: you're working? i will do it for her and rescue her. tamiflu, take medicine. >> laura: i did it. thursday and friday and i felt tired. i didn't feel so well. i'm like it can do it. >> sean: i can hear it. >> laura: i'm go to the doctor saturday. he's like you have type a influenza. but you haven't been working or anything? no.
11:01 pm
>> sean: everybody has to tube in. laura ingraham is playing hurt with the flu. everybody give her a hand. >> sean: thanks, hannity. awesome show. this is laura ingraham. "the ingraham angle" from washington. we have a big show but not from the border. we have jared kushner, senior adviser to president trump. he sat down exclusively with me today. you'll hear his first comments since the mueller probe concluded, his first reaction to a new report about his security clearance and how the president's first-step program could actually reset the entire electorate as we know it, this is ahead of 2020. of course, all of the stories of redemption on top of that. the president's pick for the fed, steve moore, is coming under increasing attack. what began as policy critiques have become far more personal. he's here to react. first, unbecoming joe biden.
11:02 pm
that's if focus of tonight's angle. former vice president joe biden's presidential campaign is already facing a serious test. he hasn't even officially declared yet. though he has the highest poll numbers in the crowded democratic field, he has a touch and go problem. lucy flores, who ran for lieutenant governor of nevada in 2014 is accusing biden of unwanted physical contact when he came to stump for her during the campaign. back stage, flores maintained that he put his hands on her shoulders, smelled his hair and planted a slow kiss on the back of her forehead. five years later with the me too movement still in full bloom, flores said it made her feel uncomfortable. that's not all. >> i want him to acknowledge that it's wrong. we don't want you to touch us,
11:03 pm
don't touch us. >> you think this is disqualifying for him? >> for me it's disqualifying. >> laura: talk about biting the hands that feed you or electing you. flores only claims that biden made her feel uncomfortable. i don't know. was this discomfort and forgotten if she won? i guess we'll never know. bide den issued statements. he claimed over his decades long career, never did i believe i acted inappropriate. we have developed in an important time where women should relate their experiences and men should pay attention and i will. over the weekend, several female biden allies made the rounds. they vouch for his character insisting that he was never disrespectful towards women. on cnn, just earlier this
11:04 pm
evening, former obama com system director jen saki had her own times with joe. >> they were times he grabbed my hands, probably kissed the back of my head. i never thought anything of it. i didn't find it creepy. but i was in the administration. the experiences is one where he was trying to lift people up and make them feel comfortable and help people go through emotionally difficult times. >> all kirsten power wants is a better behavior and a better apology. >> people can look and see that this is not the same thing as sexual assault or even really sexual harassment that we've talked about so much. i wish that biden would offer a more full apology instead of treating it like i'm sorry if you felt that way apology. just say look, i see that this is inappropriate. i shouldn't do this to people. >> laura: okay.
11:05 pm
this is all just really stupid. okay? regarding uncle joe's touchy feely ways. are we trying to pretend this was a state secret? >> spread your legs. you're going to be frisked. >> it's hard to forget those eyes. look at them. >> the queen of the -- >> that's not surprising. >> isn't it true? >> that's not surprising. >> laura: fast forward to 2019. what is really happening here is that the 76-year-old biden is now trying mightily to reconcile the old democrat party of bill clinton and ted kennedy with the ever-shifting liberal p.c. codes of the president. biden has made a liberal mistake. he's been apologizing in an effort to court the far left. now in the campaign trail, the candidates that would benefit the most from a joeless field, they don't care about the
11:06 pm
apologies. they're pouncing. >> i believe lucy flores. and joe biden needs to give an answer. >> i believe lucy flores. we need to live in a nation where people can hear her truth. >> i have no reason not to believe lucy. i think what this speaks to is the need to fundamentally change the culture of this country. >> sean: fundamentally change the culture of this country. what was miss flores real motivation for telling her truth? are we not sick of that phrase? here she is today. >> personally, i do not believe that he should run. i'm very progressive. so i believe an agenda that takes into account the changing culture that we are experiencing right now, that women are feeling like we can speak up for ourselves. >> sean: did you see that both sanders and flores spoke of
11:07 pm
changing the culture. again, hmmm. i wonder why their thoughts are so aligned? are we allowed to bring up that lucy flores is a huge bernie person and she has political connections that might be counter -- are we really going to do this? democrats, you have to ask yourselves, what exactly is the line? the me too line you want to draw. you will list and die by that line. >> laura: joe biden is about to politically perish on that line. democrat fanatics see him as one of the last remaining stumbling blocks to creating a socialist utopia. they need to stop him before he even enters the race. today another woman named amy lapos came out of the wood work alleging that biden touched her
11:08 pm
inappropriately ten years ago at a fund raiser. we'll get into other comments she made later on. my prediction, the drip drip of allegations will not stop. pie den, instead of smashing back at the obvious political nature of these accusations is blaming now through his spokesman conservatives. here's a quoted. these smears have stayed in the dark recesses of the internet for a while. trolls continue to exploit them. that's not going to help, joe. it's the far left, not the right, that is devouring you now. we just thought it was funny. okay? the crazies that never left campus, they're redrawing the lines right now. a policy of speech and conduct. not just for the democratic field but for the rest of us, too. joe biden doesn't mind when the
11:09 pm
left wing activists are hitting conservatives with allegations. when the tables are turned on him, oh, boy, we see him scramble to save himself. i kind of feel sorry for him. if he didn't enable this poisonous p.c. culture for all of these years. now it's time to wake up. or sit this one out. that's the angle. all right. joining me now with reaction, dan bongino and chris hahn, former aide to chuck schumer. dan, it's fun to watch this. but i have to share with you, really quickly, my own touch and go moments with joe biden. this was many -- this is probably ten years ago. i wrote about it in a book. a party in washington. i was at george will's house. biden saw me at the entrance way to the party. this is when jay carney was his press secretary.
11:10 pm
so biden comes up to me or i went up to him and he put both hands on my shoulders and he said god's honest truth, laura ingraham you're my favorite of the right wing crazies. he's funny. that's who he is. but now that is being used against him by the people that want to knock him out on the left. i got to say, it's rich but probably undeserved. >> i believe it, laura. he strikes me as the close talker guy. you know the dreaded close talker. but the problem i think joe biden is going to have is the left is now married to two things. he fails on both fronts. they're made to identity politics and the me too culture. remember the obama's clean comment? i don't know what he meant by that. who talks like that? you can't go to delaware without a slight indian accent?
11:11 pm
on the me too front, i agree with you. biden is probably socially inept frankly and awkward around people. that's obvious. the problem he's going to have is the left married itself to this women must be believed culture. the right has never accepted that. they say women should be heard and evidence should be believed. by the way, joe biden included. the problem biden will have is, these photos are everywhere. there is evidence of him being a little creepy. it's all over the place. that will hurt him. >> laura: chris, during the kavanaugh confirmation hearing, joe biden said christine blase ford should be given the benefit of the doubt 30 years later. this is five years later in the case of miss lapos, ten years later. so all is fair in love and politics, i guess. >> politics ain't bean bags.
11:12 pm
if you want to be president, you have to go through fire to get there. if joe biden wants to be president, he's going to have to go through fire. yeah, there are a lot of things out there that show him being a close talker, a little touchy feely. something that was totally acceptable at one point and today is probably not. women are saying they might have felt uncomfortable around him and should be believed. nobody is accusing him of actually sexually assaulting anybody -- >> sean: wait a second, chris. they should be believed. i have a real problem with this whole my truth thing. any time someone says this is my truth, you can't ever question them. as if truth isn't objective. what truth -- truth according to whom on who time line? i want to say about mrs. lapos who is the individual that he claimed he made her uncomfortable in 2009. here's a quote from her in the hartford current. she said biden supports women
11:13 pm
and gender equality, he would step aside and support one of the many talented and qualified women running. now, is that miss lapos feeling offended ten years later or she wants a woman -- >> there's no doubt whatsoever that some of these attacks are politically motivated. there's no doubt whatsoever that lucy flores, a huge bernie sanders supporter and is as you pointed out speaking the same language. so i don't have any doubt. that said, that is politics. you have to go through fire. you have to deal with it and how you push back on it determines if you're going to be president or the candidate. he has not pushed back well. not on this or other things. that speaks to his ability to get elected president of the united states. this is not an easy task for him or anybody else. whoever comes out of this primary will have to deal with this, whether they're a man or
11:14 pm
women. >> what they might end up doing, killing off their best shot to beat donald trump. if there's a chance to beat donald trump and i don't think it's a huge chance but if there's a chance, it's not with the far left person. it's with someone that can appeal to middle america. joe biden can appeal to that blue collar check -- electorate. joe biden has that political experience. >> i agree with you. all of them will have a tough time with trump. donald trump is chronically underestimated. let me stipulate that. agree with you again on point number 2. i agree. i think joe biden is going to be the one with the name i.d. and joe biden is the one that would give us trouble in michigan, wisconsin and pennsylvania. but i think this democrat -- rarely do i agree with my friend chris here. he's right. this is going to be a bloodbath.
11:15 pm
donald trump is going to coast on the republican side. there's no serious contender. let's be clear. the democrat side, these guys and women all want to be president. they don't care who they lay waste to when they're doing this. one more thing. it's interesting that quote though. biden taking a shot at conservatives. i heard you defend him, dana perino defend him. nobody is saying it's not creepy. this is ridiculous. the left is eating this guy alive. not us. >> could have been conservatives. they're okay with donald trump and the allegations against him including the nba. so why would we be mad at joe biden -- >> you're a clinton guy. give me a break. you accented the clinton stuff. i don't want to hear it. >> laura: all i can say is this town shut down for ted kennedy's funeral. let's take a breath on these old
11:16 pm
allegations. by the way, my next guest says that with their left lurch, 2020 dems, they went from slam dunk to trouble. so what does he think about the obvious effort to kneecap biden? joining me now, ed rendell. now, this lapos person and miss flores are far left progressives. one is a bernie sanders person and the other is any woman loving. that's fine. support whoever you want. but this idea of claiming offense five and ten years later, i think it hurts real claims of sexual harassment and other misconduct in the workplace. i think most of the country is so sick to death of this. now biden is getting hoisted on his own pitard. >> i have to say i feel
11:17 pm
terrible. i agree with almost everything you said tonight. >> no! the skies are going to open up. >> you're dead -- your ratings are going to go down dramatically. i believe you're dead right. first of all, the most important thing you said in terms of taking out of politics, we have to draw a line on this me too. we have to draw a line of what is behavior that might change but is not disqualifying in any way, shape or form and behavior that does disqualify a person from running or holding public office. a very clear line. not even a fine line. i have known joe biden since he came into the senate. i've seen him in two or three 00 public appearances. i have never seen him do anything that i thought was inappropriate towards women. he's a hugger. he's a close talker. he's hugged me a number of times. he's come up --
11:18 pm
>> sean: ed, what is your truth tonight? you have something to share about how it made you feel? >> the truth is, it made me feel nice and warm that this guy cared about me. that's part of joe biden's charm. the vast majority of the american people, as you said, are sick of this stuff. they know what is real and isn't rile. this isn't real. we should as democrats focus on finding someone that can run the country well and has the best chance to beat donald trump. for my money, that's joe biden. no ifs, ands or buts about it. he's not running against among. so i think he's in the clear. in the general election. >> laura: this is jake tapper commenting on this whole thing. i'd like your reaction. >> any of the men around this table behaved this way at our places of work, we would get reprimanded or fired.
11:19 pm
you're not allowed to touch women inappropriately. doesn't matter if your intentional is sexual or -- you can't sniff a woman's hair and kiss the back of her head. it's not appropriate. >> he's speaking for the enlightened male today. >> jake tapper used to work for one of my campaigns but he's dead wrong here. you might have hr say you shouldn't touch women without their permission, things like that. these respect serious offenses. we have to get real and focus on what is important to the country. issues, challenges that we have. some of this stuff is just borders on the ridiculous. you couldn't be more right. >> sean: ed, i want to put up really quickly -- this is from "the washington post." caught my eye. virginia leaders stay put as scandals lose steam. with legislative elections on the horizon, a stasis takes hold.
11:20 pm
referring to justin fairfax and northam. his accusers came out and gave another interview. what about those scandals? should they be swept under the rug as well? >> no. there should be hearings. al franken should have had a hearing. donald trump should have had a hearing. >> there was no hearing. justin fairfax is still lieutenant governor. >> there should be a legislative hearing to figure out what he did, if there is -- what the truth of the assertions are. i'm all for that. i agree with you. you can't just accept anything somebody says. you have to have a fact-finding mission. >> sean: governor -- >> sometimes the voters are smarter than we are. 65% of -- 55% of african americans want governor northam to stay on. >> sean: governor, i'm happy to have your truth tonight.
11:21 pm
i want to say that. thanks for joining us. >> he doesn't give a very good show. >> sean: i'll remember that. up next, an laura ingraham exclusive. jared kushner responding to breaking news that he shouldn't have received a security clearance and redemption. don't go away. >> she says she has grave concerns about potential national security implications. do you pose a grave national security concern to the country, >> tech: at safelite autoglass, we really pride ourselves on making it easy to get your windshield fixed. with safelite, you can see exactly when we'll be there. saving you time for what you love most. >> kids: whoa! >> kids vo: ♪ safelite repair, safelite replace ♪ you wouldn't accept an incomplete job from any one else. why accept it from your allergy pills? flonase sensimist relieves all your worst symptoms, including nasal congestion, which most pills don't. and all from a gentle mist
