and let that area take care of it whether it a state or whatever it might be. california says they want more people and want more people in their sanctuary cities. we can give them more people. we can give them an unlimited supply and let's see if they are so happy. they say we have open arms. they always say they have open arms. let's see if they have open arms. pete: i don't just love this idea i'm in love with this idea. jedediah: i saw you tweet about it right away you are like yeah. pete: your logic is no person is illegal that's the mantra of the democrat party. if you want open borders. then bring them into sanctuary cities. if this is your mantra and what you love and what you want. then have more of it. you should welcome it with open arms. there are 27 states with sanctuary cities or counties. this is just a brief list. the map is mostly yellow as you can see. those states, if that's what you are all about, if this

is where we are, if congress won't fix this, if we don't have laws that make sense. if we don't have a border wall. if we can't parole the border. then deliver illegals to these. jedediah: i don't understand sanctuary cities. i don't understand how you say you violate federal law and that's okay. i struggled with how sinner districts and states get away with it. listen, we are not going to support the federal law. we are not going to contact ice. we're going to do catch and release. i don't understand that whole, i think a lot of people with common sense sitting at home don't necessarily follow immigration policy day-to-day. does this make any sense at all? i hear you. if you are are going to endorse it, be willing to accept it you can't be out there pounding the pavement saying we don't have an issue. there is no problem at the border. i support sanctuary cities and when someone turns around and says all right we will let all these people come across illegally into your sanctuary. oh no, you are outraged. which is it?

really? ed: started with supports that emerged on thursday evening suggesting that the president back maybe in november, the white house, the president, other white house officials were pressuring allegedly officials at the department of homeland security to issue some political pay back, if you will. second illegal immigrants to nancy pelosi's hometown. her district. in san francisco. pete: maybe her house. jedediah: her how fast has a wall, pete. don't be silly. ed: initially pushed back saying it was considered and shut down. it's not going to ham. then the president on friday tweeted and said hey maybe i will do it. made public comments as we heard a moment ago. i will double down on this. maybe i will send illegals to nancy pelosi's backyard and elsewhere. democrats and some in the media had a meltdown. >> his administration is saying we're not interested in real solutions. what we're interested in is continuing to demonize migrants. >> it represents a sociopatty. >> trying to create fear

among people throughout the united states about these migrants. >> president trump wants to use immigration and wants to use the border as a political weapon. >> the dehumanization of people here illegally. >> i don't know anything about it, but, again, it's just another notion that is unone way or the other of the presidency of the united states and disrespectful of the challenges that we faces a a country, as a people to address who we are, a nation of immigrants. ed: it's also disrespectful not to enforce the laws of the country. jedediah: how is sanctuary city not disrespectful. hey, look if you support sanctuary cities send people over illegally. how is that disrespectful but the sanctuary city itself is not. i don't understand how they say this stuff with a straight face. pete: as i wear my kashmir scarf around my neck he is unone way or the other of a presidency. people look at that and see how undetached i guess it's not undetached -- attached she is to real life.

lawmakers. lawmakers say they are spending this much money. if you want to send it to towns beyond the border. pete: if you are in texas and california you have to deal with this but none of us do? ed: sure. pete: refugees as i know in minneapolis with somalis there they are placed all over the country. why can't illegals be placed anywhere in the country. ed: you would have to change the law. jedediah: while you two debate this out. let's hear what some folks in sanctuary cities are saying. "the washington post" op-ed called mr. president we aren't afraid of migrants by seattle mayor jenny durkin. seattle is not afraid of immigrants and refugee he is. in fact we have always welcomed people who have faced tremendous hardship around the world. what does scare us a president and federal government seek to weaponize a law enforcement agency to punish perceived political enemies. that's how one person is responding. i'm curious to see if other

mayors of sanctuary cities will come out and say it's not a problem or stand by it. pete: mayor de blasio is running to a microphone say same thing. mayor jenny should pay for bus tickets for all of that bring illegals to your city because you love it so much. jedediah: this would face annual enormous amount of legal challenges. his point is, listen. ed: you would follow the law, right. pete: if it defendants. jedediah: i will follow the law. i understand your point. i think he has to say something and his way of saying listen, stand by what you are say. he is pointing out the hypocrisy more than anything. i don't know that he is saying we're going to actually do this. we're going to follow listen, you say you support it do it. ed: should the president call out the president's hypocrisy on this friends@foxnews.com. the president and his legal team still waiting as are democrats. they have been pressuring william barr the attorney general. pete: are we going to get it this weekend? ed: early next weekend. probably not this weekend.

♪ ♪ ed: welcom pete: welcome back. president trump calling out democrats over sanctuary city proposal. if the radical left democrats all of a sudden don't want the illegal migrants in their sanctuary cities, no more open arms, i guess, why should others be expected to take them into their communities.

go home and come into our country legally and through a system of merit. here to react to that and a couple of other things, mark morgan, border patrol chief under former president obama. former fbi assistant director as well. mark, thanks for being here this morning. >> you bet. pete: your reaction to the president's proposal that if these borders are open and these policies are what they are. let's deliver folks to sanctuary cities? >> look, the president is clearly frustrated and so am i. every time the president tries to do the right thing to protect these borders, what happens? congress goes against him. bad judicial activism to go against him. so he is just -- you know, i think this is really being born out of frustration. is he trying to send a clear message. make mistakes, sanctuary cities are part of this crisis. they are signaling and telling immigrants, come here illegally. exploit our laws and generosity. not only will we take you in. we will protect you. we will reward you. and we will thwart the law enforcement from trying to do their job. it's truly unbelievable.

ed: mark, i understand the president is frustrated. on the other hand is, this legal, a, you have been in the job before and you understand this better than we do. b, we understand there are folks at the department of homeland security who say wait a second, this will create a new burden on the very ice agents that we applaud for their efforts to try to help the president and the nation enforce immigration laws. so will this be bad for ice? >> ed, i think you are right. i think you bring up good points. one a logistical kind of nightmare as i see this to be able to do this. but, you know, the mayor of chicago. the new mayor of chicago said it best. she said, you know, weervel welcoming illegal immigrants for a long time. so the american people need to understand sanctuary cities have been a pull factor a good chunk of illegal aliens they are self-deploying themselves to shows sanctuary cities. that's where they want to go. you could argue the government would be

expediting the process of getting them to where they want to end up anyway. jedediah: mark, we actually have that sound from the chicago mayor elect. i want to listen to what she said and get your reaction specifically. >> we are a city that is a sanctuary city. we have immigrants from all over the world who call chicago their home. they will continue to do that and continue to make sure that this is true lay welcoming community for those immigrants and we want them to come to the city of chicago. jedediah: i give those mayor's sanctuary cities turn around and say sure, send them on in. give them some credit. at least you are standing by what you preach. >> right there. is a couple things we need to dissect in that statement. first of all, a confusion between immigrants and illegal immigrants. we're talking about illegal immigrants. we're talking about they are part of the problem when they are telling illegal immigrants come here, we will protect you and reward you. that is wrong. and any time that our elected leaders through their own political ideology or their own moral personal

beliefs selectively decide which laws to enforce, that's a slippery slope and that's what we are talking about. we need to remember we are talking about illegal immigrants. pete: absolutely. mark, you talked about the courts. usually the courts have ruled against this president. there was a ruling in the ninth circuit. a stay of ruling that was a win for the president. ultimately temporarily those seeking asylum in mexico will stay in mexico as their case is being adjudicated it seems that the court has upheld their ability to do so. your reaction? >> i was somewhat surprised in the ninth circuit of appeals but not really. the immigration naturalization act section 235 is very clear on this. the american government absolutely has a right to require asylum seekers to remain in mexico. it's there this lower court, again, another example of horrible judicial activism. this action is going to absolutely reduce the american resources of being overwhelmed. it's going to force mexico to get off the sidelines and

senator sanders 1.6 trillion. actual estimates 3.4 trillion. the u.s. government just to-to-put that in perspective through tax revenues today takes in 3.6. we would need to double the taxes just to even attempt to pay for this program. jedediah: okay. thought second issue, of course, is the impact on jobs. jobs in the healthcare industry. "new york times" article, quote we have for you. i want to get your reaction, everyone would eventually get insurance from medicare, private insurance companies would essentially be eliminated. the bill does establish a program to help the industry's workers transition to new careers. i'm just sitting here and wondering how would that even be possible you? are talking about hundreds of thousands of workers. what does that transition look like? what happens when all these people lose jobs? where is the accountability going to be on this issue? >> that's right. you are not even taking into account the ripple effect of those jobs. so you have got to remember that healthcare system itself is a sixth of the u.s. economy. and so, you are talking about roughly 3 million

direct jobs through insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, administrative companies. also the indirect jobs. janitorial services and all those companies that support the current system as it sits now. those jobs would be eliminated as well. and if we're talking about a transition. a transition to what? you are literally adding 2% unemployment rate day one. jedediah: of course, we are always wondering what do americans think? will they support it? will they not. new poll medicare for all 71% support it when it guarantees insurance for all. that number shifts down to 37% when people are required most of them to pay more taxes. this is the idea of oh these policies sound really great. rainbows and unicorns and everyone gets insurance. when you realize how it impacts your way of life and how much money people have suddenly people say wait a second. >> this is a marketing ploy from democrats. you heard it on the sound bite front end.

korea. the president tweeting i agree with kim jong un of north korea that our personal relationship remains very good. perhaps the term exselect would be accurate. a third summit may be good and we clearly understand where each the standards. north korea has potential for growth and riches under the leadership of chairman kim. i look forward to the day, which could be soon, when nuclear weapons and sanctions can be removed and then watching north korea become one of the most successful nations of the world. your reaction? >> well, i think that for president trump, his focus has been the denuclearization of the korean peninsula. obviously what we do know is that they have not launched any missiles since the president has engaged in having these discussions with the north korean president. the key here is we want to continue making progress. that is the goal. as we know this is incredibly complicated issue that the presidents in the past haven't been able to manage correctly. we know under president trump's leadership we are going to be moving in the right direction.

hacks they are. you know, women start to realize these magazines are not representing them and probably not worth their time or money spending reading them or visiting them online. jedediah: what's your advice to conservative women out there who see this double standard and get enraged? my advice is don't buy the magazines because your pocketbook will speak volumes. do you have any advice of how to deal with this when you feel odds are stacked against you from second one? >> absolutely. don't buy the magazine. also, let's not play victim here. conservative women aren't victims. we are women in the freest country in the world. we have every opportunity to succeed and make our voices heard. let's get creative and find a way to get our message out there instead of just complaining about the many ways that our perspectives are being overlooked and ignored. jedediah: i agree with you about that victim comment. i do think it's very hard when you are, for example, a sarah palin who came out and was picked on from top to

management believe won't work as hard as millennials. millennials got a bad wrap, they are entitled and expect everything. now you are seeing genz come out maybe millennials weren't so bad when it came to being hard workers? >> i always get entertained when i see these date to points. this is about leadership. if you -- it doesn't matter what generation that you are talking about, if you lead them well and if you train them and show them a vision for the future, they all want to do work that matters and all want to feel good about their work. i don't get too worried about the next generation. i'm more concerned about are we leading them well? ed: we can pick on millennials and generation z. what is the positive part of it? what do you think moving forward are some lessons that you have learned that you think that the next generation should think about as they enter the workforce? >> well, there is three things. if you want to move up the ladder and we all do. there is three things you have to do. certainly somebody who is young i in the workforce, the first thing is you need to

know your role. make sure you sat down with your leader and both on the same page about what it is that you are expected to do. what does a win look like for me? this is what i have got to do. that's clarity. second thing is you need to make sure that you have a great attitude about this. and that is accepting your role. so, now is the time for me to prove myself. and so i'm going to be grateful for my role, knowing that if i win in the now, then and only then does the next present itself. that's an attitude issue. then the third thing is maximize your role. so you are clear on what a win looks like. go above and beyond. be a great teammate. help somebody else that has nothing to do with your job. if you do those three things. know your role, accept your role and maximize your role. opportunities to be promoted and move up could consistently going to be coming your way. pete: i hear the word gratitude and i think that's central to all of that something we have been talking about as a country decriminalization of drugs.

pete: listen i don't just love this policy i'm in love with it. this is exactly what the left deserves. if you say that's what you want then live up to your values of no human is illegal come to our sanctuary city. there may be some bureaucratic loopholes as to why they don't do it now. ed: the law of the constitution things like that. jedediah: legal challenges. pete: but the point of that right now is most of these illegals are left in those border states right, texas, arizona, california why are they the only states that bear the burden just because they are closer to that border. ed: another good question is what the heck is happening in the state of new york. just recently they voted to give $27 million, this is at the state level, in financial aid, to illegal immigrants. we're not making that up. $27 million, financial aid, illegal immigrants, wanted to go to college. meanwhile, they do not want to expand a fund that provides college education to gold star families. we had a state lawmaker a republican on the program earlier saying this is lunacy.

found to be in that state illegally your local law enforcement can actually coordinate with i.c.e. and the federal government to deal with that? >> correct so what would happen is if state or local law enforcement arrests someone for a crime they've committed in florida, then that law enforcement agency would contact federal immigration authorities, advise them they have this person in custody, and allow the federal immigration authorities to take custody if necessary. pete: well you know illegal immigrants is not a small problem in florida. in fact based on our statistics 77 5,000 illegal immigrants in florida, third highest in the u.s. , so when would you hope, you'd hope this would take effect quickly and as it pertains to illegal immigrants are they brought to florida or oftentimes, they go to themselves looking for work or other opportunities? >> both. i mean, florida is a gateway to central and south america so some of them come here for work, some of them come here on visas and overstay, so you know, florida many people want to be

they were expecting to get and being disappointed and all. a lot of that has to do with your w4 withholdings. the rates change so a lot of the rules change. see your employer and redo your w4 form that way you can get your withholdings in line with the taxes. ed: what about had 401 (k)? >> put as much money as you can into your 401 (k). if your employer has one you can put up to $18,000 if you've got your own ira, or you want to open one you could put 7,000 dollars away, we have a retirement crisis in this country and the government would like to help you out so put that money away it's a great tax move jedediah: what about a 529 account? >> i love these accounts. i had three little kids, that were all in college when they got to college at the same time and thank god for a 529 plan. you guys can take a 529 plan get it setup easily. it's after tax money you put it in but then it grows tax-free, and then you can take it out without any penalty or taxes at the time as long as you pay for

not only higher education but for private school tuition and religious school tuition as well and by the way you don't need a 529 plan for just your kids if you're a grandparent, uncle, aunt get a 529 plan for your grandkids nieces or nephews. ed: what about health savings account in the political debate let's take out the politics as a tax man does it work? >> oh, they're fantastic so if your employer doesn't offer one ask your employer to get one setup they're very easy to do and very popular among employees and that way you could put money away pre-tax your employers can also do that for you, and then you could take the money out to pay for your deductibles and out of pocket expenses so it's a great tax advantage way in 2019 to save some money and help cut your health care costs. jedediah: finally, something i just did, meet with your accountant now! >> please, guys, right? it's april, its been a very busy busy season but meet with us now , plan out the rest of the year and do you know what? get together with us again maybe in september and october. i'll buy you a cup of coffee
