everyone has graduated from college and they kept the same employer and i am there. i want what they want. and i am all drunk with mafia buddy were jumping out of an

airplane and doing all these things that were true i wanted what they had. there was a lot of pain then i got into cocaine 20 years functioning cocaine addict and then i went to crack cocaine. mark: you are lucky to be alive. >> 20 years of addiction. how did you get out? >> you can get out of it for quite don't believe it is a disease it either comes from as trauma or things that happen as a child. and then it can manifest and for me i lost a 20 year marriage and all of these things happened in the two

thousands but in 2083 things happened. seeds were planted for me. there was an intervention. mark: why would drug dealers do an intervention? >> i was staying downtown in minneapolis half an hour i had a warrant out for my arrest and would be found innocent the following tuesday so i was hiding out the three of the biggest dealers and i didn't even know they knew each other. they said he's been up for 14 days and we are shutting him off and he said what is the matter with you. mark: you are up for 14 days so you were using even they said that's enough.

>> here is what he said actually. i was a good customer but one guyto left he went down the street to shut off his people that this dealer finally went to sleep. i headed down to the streets at 3:00 o'clock in the morning and could not get drugs anywhere. i was very resourceful and nothing he was standing there waiting and he said get that phone i'm going to need a picture for that book you were bragging to write you saying my pillow is a platform for god and were not going to let you die on us. i would always tell them this pillow is a platform.

mark: so this singular event that turned your life around? >> no. that was just one then six months later my son came back from a hunting trip is that i can't stay here anymore. i will go live with my brother. and that hit home. mark: he must have known you were addicted. >> yes. from the kids 16 and younger they don't remember they said we are distant dysfunctional family i said i don't know what that means but don't say it again. [laughter] and then december 2008 my friend came to me and dig cocaine at the same time in the eighties and were both

functioning addicts through the nineties and into thousand we both switch to crack i heard he found the lord and had been clear of addictions for three years. i was all by myself when he came walkinghe in. they said what are you doing here? you said the lord has led me here paraguay said as long as you are here i have some questions for you. i said is that boring? being clean or being with god i was asking both. so we went into one hour of questions because i was in treatment in the eighties and i had counselors that he was my equal. whatever he said i trusted him because he had been right had been.

he said no. he was telling me like how do you feel inside now? so all different questions. but then one month later january 16, 2009 i knew that day people say was that your bottom? sure, i didn't have any money left but something bad would happen and that should be in my book someday. that was weird thinking but that day god had chosen me for this with the addiction and everything. mark: but you meet with him, did he turn you want.

mark: did he give you the jumpstart? >> yes but if you go back to the days i owned a bar for 13 years after the bar would close we would go back and sit and do cocaine and i would tell the kids that drugs were bad but in the revelation in the i bible they would quit and find jesus and i would wake up and realize i'm losing friends but that was me wanting to convince myself. so i will talk m to people and i want what i tell them. almost trying to convince myself so my whole life god was chasing me. mark: when did he catch you? >> february 182017. two years ago. full surrender. now i can go speak for jesus

like i couldn't with the same passion before paraguay went to the stadium in minneapolis a couple months after my born-again experience. i played with 50000 millennial's and told a story of my life. but i was able to do it. three weeks later at the amusement park all of these millennial's and teenagers say we heard you. you change my life. we are born again. they were so hopeful my grand daughter had to say we need to go write some rides. [laughter] mark: what is thatri like? to be known everywhere? you are ubiquitouswa on

tv, radio. does that have an effect on your ego or your ability to stay straight? >> no. i drive a pickup truck so for me i always wanted to help people. but you get that feeling back because i had such a feeling of worthiness back in the day but if i have to be somewhere i will stop and talk to the policeman if they want to talk. [laughter] mark: you are very compelling. but i love it because i love helping people and hearing the stories. when people come up to me, it is not about that but they say

wow your transformation and this is amazing. mark: you have a good relationship with your kids? >> yes. live in the same town and all my kids work for me. it's amazing that they came through. they have all played a part. mark: when we come back i want to ask you because this is part of your life. as an entrepreneur and you turn to basic product into a huge business.

mark: mike, as the trump supporter showing up at his events were you? what is it to say that's my guy? come hell or high water? >> part of that is when i came out of those addiction i was a little kid from a clean slate i didn't know what a republican from a democrat. i had no clue but i knew what was going on in this country. everything was chaos and there

is this thing called isis? it's like waking up out of a coma. and i had a dream i get these sometimes but me being in a room with him and a couple days later he comes down for escalator and running for president and then the same dream it was like a reoccurring dream and my sister called me and she said. mark: so she knew? >> yes. she is a born-again christia christian, actually i don't know she said he would win but she said that i ended up going to israel that fall and i

asked what is a conservative? but my values were all over here. are you kidding me? and then leading up to the summer of 16 and then met me in new york city and coming to fruition. i was actually in the board meeting and then i was mad and then she said you're not listening to god and then i

went back and said all that. so though corporate lawyers to stay out of the. >> yes and a couple of others berkeley will hurt business. so now i went into new york with high hopes and just him and i and he looked up and said are you a christian? i said yes but this is the point mister trump and we started to talk about it. that i was the next cracked addict and he talked about how he would bring jobs back and the inner cities and made in the usa. and it was like he is the most

common sense he will be the greatest president in history i was just blown away and i walked out of the office i didn't stop there but i talked to so many employees it was like talking to my children i've never had that happen with any other person that passion that they have for him. that loyalty. like he had done something personal to help them and he cares so much about people. i was so excited i went all in. mark: the man that you met in the van you come to love is that the man portrayed by the media? >> no. it is so shameful. i don't understand it. i can say to everyone i have talked to i told you so.

and i spoke to days before the election in minnesota and i ended my speech i was so scared to get up there and i pointed to the media and said he would be the greatest president in history but what's funny is they don't know what to say one-on-one. i was just out in california in aggressive areas and said you are aligning yourself with this president? what do you mean? high stock market, low gas, now i see my friends employed

it's just amazing to me. and for the media i just thought the other day like 57 percent approval rating i have said it before everybody loves our president some just don't know what yet. then they say i guess they are right pretty soon it will be down to just a few people to down to just a few people to say we give up

cannot get rejected if you don't talk to people so the first infomercial i ever did it was a revival of the producer called me up to say like all over the country i did that for seven years i was going show to show and fair to fair all over the country but i remember the night before but the producer was brought in and he said he is the worst i have ever seen. he will never make it why did you bring me and then we go to do this infomercial i walk out reading my lions. i was so scared. i said we have to pull away the teleprompter october 7 my

sister's basement and i was attacked but i done a complete surrender to jesus christ but to be in a personal relationship so show me more no i was invited to the white house and now all of a sudden they said the president wants to sit by you and now here is me and the president and all my friends a jesus israel. [laughter] that god cap showing me more and more things. i was on the treat - - a retreat actually for veterans. and i went in there with hope

and she had that relationship but i knew she was right so i showed up and did a full surrender and now i can proactively pray but now i can actively pray and it's god's work as well. >> so people know who you are you trying to use that for good and to reach out to people who are as low as you have been at one point? >> absolute the. on november 82016 when donald

trump was elected this ties in with my faith. i believe it was spiritual warfare in our country and then to tell the story of hope. and if i sit here and told you the stories you would say while. i could get to the third one if you knew it was true you would say yes there is a god. but then to help people out of addiction. i have been there. and then to help the president and anyway i can those conservative things that have been done in the things doing in our country to me they all

tie together. mark: what do you do when an addict comes up to say i need help? >> i have the recovery network as an opioid addict and relating to a meth addict now we have thousands of stories of these addicts saying what they didn't like about that specific drug. now they say this guy knew just like my friend who came at me three years later. so we have all these hope matches and here is your help so the salvation army and i

will be there for you. >> it is interactive so people go on that site and then they can connect to somebody this isn't shaming the family with all your vitriolic talk of addictions and to monetize this industry give us 50 grand and insurance will pay for it or tap into your four o one k and spend all of your money and then to say no they are not.

so they trust me because i have been there and here is the key thing. i'm selling to the addict not the family once you get out i will be there for you. that would be a career and that is all be will do. let say they didn't get the [leaf blower]

mark: you are known to the american people of the face that everybody uses in one

form or another but you have been through all of these challenges and an entrepreneur and now you are very successful. a lot of people are wondering how you did that. how did you do it quick. >> i have always been an entrepreneur out of necessity my sister had an apartment complex i became a carpet cleaner. each manifested a solution. but i will say having the passion and faith when i would tell any entrepreneurs out there i didn't have a safety net right now with all of these jobs and wages rising i have 1600 employees but a lot of them are taking the chances

but then they can go back to do their job. it is an amazing time. everybody, don't be afraid there are so many good ideas left on the shelf that i have a great idea but out of fear, it blocks all of that. all the things that happened to me with those deviations and in my company i have 16 employees and of those that have my direct number i only get a call if there is a deviation. if there's peace i can put that out of my head that is amazing. if you watch those deviations and that includes failure and

i have a friend of mine who has been working for four years and he wanted to be perfect if you have that great idea and you don't do it that's a shame. get out there and failed. what's the worst that can happen? i had a bar for 13 years it was devastating when i had to sell it through a series of events but i look back now that if that did not happen we wouldn't be sitting here. look back at failures of the time 99.99 percent people worry about never comes to fruition. mark: so stop worrying. >> if you look back at your own life one in a million or

one in a billion this never happens. so most people say they are entrepreneurs, if something did not happen here you would not be here. i took in tens of millions are $100 million and at the end i owe 5 million. everything was done wrong but i learned from that. then i learned so much. another thing to mention , learn from someone that you trust in the business. so what have you done? so don't waste all this time on learning what they have done. mark:'s or anything you would

have done differently quick. >> i would not have done one thing different if i wasn't sitting right here. do i have regrets? a 20 year marriage and my kids that needed me, they were affected and i look back to say did i lose time? i think a lot of addicts say we wasted the time but no. trust in the lord with all your heart but if you acknowledge he will guide your path. and not to say through god all things are possible that there is no regrets. mark: don't forget to three

[laughter] but i just remember and this actually happened, i was in a very bad place in the city and held captive. and all these different things

in the next day they all pulled me away and said would have you do don't tell them you don't have money i felt safer with them. they were trying to carve up my company they had tried to take it so many times. they were all shysters trying to carve this up but i felt safer in the head with a gun. i did not understand that corruption. mark: that you have led different lives and then to different places i know you think god but it is a lot of work to say i have to pinch

myself. >> here is a defining moment. when the president was elected i was invited to the white house them are 2017 and there are manufacturers there are 20 people there was no name tag and said the president wanted to sit by you. what? now my life was flashing back. my friends have stayed not 20 of them said jesus is real. so that's what i say it is like living inside of a movie. it's like all these near-death experiences and what happens to normal people that one of
