fire. donald trump vowing us support to help rebuild the 850-year-old landmark as priceless relics are found in the rubble. amy kellogg joins us from paris with a miraculous discovery to tell us about. >> the leading theory that a short-circuit in a service elevator used to reach the fire may have been the cause of the fire. the fire actually first, the first item to actually catch fire in notre dame cathedral. the problem is growing concerns about the integrity and security of the cathedral and the water and fire damage inside. investigators have not been able to go inside and begin their work, the next 24 to 48 hours are going to be crucial in terms

of ascertaining the integrity of the structure and we are learning more about the sequence of eventss. the first fire alarm went off at 6:20 in the evening and concluded there was no fire at all in the second alarm sounded at 6:43 at which point the cathedral was engaged in flames. it contains a couple of relics within and not sure if they are intact. a statue of jesus and mary seen intact and fragments of the cross and a male from the crucifixion are intact. the greatest are the beams that held the ceiling, the roof, they were derived from enormous trees that no longer exist in france or europe. there was a solemn procession, the president repeated his bow to rebuild notre dame.

>> translator: we will build the cathedral of notre dame even more beautiful. and want this to be done in the next 5 years. >> reporter: architects casting doubt on that 5-year window saying it will probably take much longer than that. 800 million have done to the reconstruction effort, most of that from private donors. >> that would be really something if they manage to do that in that time. thank you. back at home some republicans pushing back against the mueller probe ahead of the redacted release and the ranking member of the house intelligence committee vowing to investigate the investigators. griff jenkins live in washington as the moment we have been waiting for draws closer. looks like it is going to happen.

>> the investigation led by devon nunez into the origin of mueller's investigation appears to be growing, sources telling fox news 2 dozen individuals may be implicated in the referrals into attorney general william barr. nunez wants questions answered around the anti-trump dossier used to secure surveillance warrants as a member of the trump campaign. >> ever set up involved. if mueller can't get to the bottom of this i don't know what the report was worth. >> chuck grassley and lindsey graham are demanding in a letter to the attorney general more information by the fbi's clinton email investigation included access to classified materials. it is in a press release seeking doj permission. it is necessary to complete the investigation.

critics call one of the most extreme in the nation that would make performing an abortion a felony punishable up to 99 years in prison was a woman would not be charged for having the procedure. the new york city board of health could extend mandatory vaccination order as cases of measles are confirmed in the city this week. rockland county is banning vaccinated people for 21 days including houses of worship and the large jewish community prepares for passover. violators can face $2000 fines and 39 cases of measles confirmed in michigan. a man who traveled to that state after getting sick in new york. donald trump will hold a rally in wisconsin instead of attending the white house correspondents dinner. he has been a vocal critic of the event.

julie: before tomorrow's release of the mueller report the fbi is being sued. judicial watch demanding christopher steele's records, what could this reveal? here to discuss is jenna ellis. thank you for joining us this morning. so let's bring this up for people at home to see what this lawsuit entails against the fbi from judicial the fbi but subsequently fired in 2017. what do we expect this to show

us? >> we need to know how and why the fbi paid christopher steele who is being funded by the clinton campaign and dnc through fusion gps. we need to know whether or not the fbi used this as a manufactured basis in communication with christopher steele as a manufactured basis to obtain fisa warrants to spy on the trump campaign. the timing of this is fascinating with the mueller report showing no collusion, no wrongdoing and so many open questions that judicial watch had to sue under the freedom of information act that the american people are obligated to see what happened in 2016-17. >> they requested this information before but had not gotten into this. >> yes.

judicial watch said they denied that request. they filed a lawsuit under the freedom of information act to push this information given to them which is absurd. foia requests are very common and exist so the american people can be assured the legitimacy of our government that it doesn't operate in the dark and they spy on american citizens illegally and in this case donald trump. >> this falls into the realm of investigating the investigators which we hear about now. >> everything that has come out with the fbi and doj under president clinton or president obama and the clinton campaign and everything going on in 2016 even though the fbi, investigating, supposedly doing

their job, so much information it seems they are trying to hide and that is why judicial watch is going after this lawsuit to bring that to light and say what else happened during the campaign that we don't know from the democratic side, the mueller report has only been investigating donald trump the last two years, we deserve legitimacy in our law enforcement and deserve to know what happened with the fbi on the democratic side under president obama. heather: will there be information in the mueller report scheduled to come out tomorrow? that is not rejected? >> the rejections will not be as significant as what is in there and depends on the scope of the investigation. it seems from the report so far that it looks like the investigation was targeted just

>> you are so excited, 6 years old and then got to give it up. ridiculous. heather: keep your opinions coming in. take a look at this picture taken in front of notre dame a couple hours before the fire broke out. take a look at that picture, the woman who took it is on a mission to try to find the two people, i took this photo as we were leaving notre dame an hour before it caught fire. i almost went up to the dad and asked if he wanted it. if you have any magic, help him find this photo. i hope they see it, laura says it won't stop. someone on instagram says magnificent picture. the people in the photo have yet to be found, whether it is a father or daughter or niece, but we hope they see it. i was looking online. a lot of french journalists have seen the picture and broadcasting it.

overwhelmingly they said fox should take consequences. joyce writes she shouldn't have a future in prosecuting, she should go to jail and so should jussie smollett. that might be a little -- on instagram, there should be a future in the legal profession in any office whatsoever. mike writes on facebook, lose her law license at least. if i may put my lawyer hat on those consequences seem draconian but there should be some consequences, maybe citing her as officer of the private sector. heather: people say jussie smollett should -- how do we get this text messages? >> public records requests. the law is pretty clear. heather: be careful what you put in text messages these days. another story.

heather: joining me is matthew munson. thank you for joining us, we appreciate your time. what do you think of what the french president is saying? they think they can rebuild it within five years. construction took 200 years. probably the french president is perhaps optimistic. anyone looking toward the reconstruction of notre dame after the fire looks at this and think if we can accomplish this let's do it. it will require a massive amount of cooperation from a lot of directions including the church, the state and the public sector. it is worth noting that $700 million has already been raised toward reconstruction. heather: when you talk about the reconstruction effort at all the parties that have to be involved not the least of which would be historians, members of catholic faith that going to talk about many of the artifacts that are

still in the rubble. >> you are right. one of the most important first tasks is assessing the level of structural damage to notre dame and we have to sift through the rubble, what has been damaged, what can be salvaged. many of the most important relics, the crown of thorns we were just seeing, have been saved but we are not sure what is missing, what might be recovered in massive amounts of ruin still strewn on the floor of the cathedral. we are discovering that the cathedral itself, the way it was built demonstrates the skill of the medieval artisans, that massive vault saved the interior from the fire above when the roof caught fire. we are beginning to appreciate the genius of the design and in some ways that may hasten the reconstruction. if we can appreciate what went into the construction, now apply

the most modern methods to protect into this ever happening again. heather: how do you rebuild it but at the same time give credence to the beautiful architecture and what they were able to do 800 years ago with that roof? >> the artisans who worked on the original notre dame cathedral new when they were going into stonemasons and woodcarvers, knew this would be a project they would never see completed in their lifetime. we are talking about construction that took two centuries. with the technology and application of the skills, the pace can be picked up but the big question is are we going to reconstruct it exactly as it was? there is a growing movement to reconstruct, get us back to where notre dame was a few days ago. with the best of ways to prevent this from happening again but

also to construct it for another 850 years. heather: a very strong message as we are here in the easter season as well. heather: this is a reminder that cathedrals are supposed to be epicenters of life and that is what notre dame has emerged once again in the life of france but for people all over the world, it is a place workings were crowned, peasants could learn about eternity and notre dame is sending the message again around the world. here we are in holy week in the darkness and easter is coming in the reconstruction of nostradamus -- notre dame, is -- heather: the images just remarkable. images of hope. heather: thank you for joining us. the time is 20 minutes until the top of the hour.
