general has taken issue with and has a closed-door session after a public session in which they could go over redacted information in the report. now, if both stand firm you will see escalation of battle between congress and the attorney general and justice department. now, democrats certainly want to hear from attorney general barr but but both sides can't come into agreement and might turn into ugly mess. arthel: we are fighting all of the subpoenas, is the president undermining the constitutional separation of powers? >> well, you know, the president is certainly taking a path that he is spoken about before which is fighting fire with fire and democrats are going to say that he is obstructing their constitutional duty to conduct

oversight and that is definitely their argument that they are going to pursue. i believe judiciary chairman nadler recently said that this is a step towards impeachment because they are obstructing and not complying with congressional subpoenas, you can already see democrats sort of weighing out the strategy of how they will go after the white house and so some democrats are even talking about how to hold the white house or trump administration official accountable if they do not comply which they start to really stage and subpoenas that house democrats, some are talking about incarceration. arthel: the president olivia also says, quote, these are like impartial people, investigations sparked by a career white house

official having told the investigators that security clearances or white house officials by the former white house despite red flags raised in the process. is this official oversight? >> well, you know, democrats have a whistle blower who came forward and raised the issue about the process that's going on and democrats want to ask about ivanka, they want to ask about jared and how administration officials received their security clearances when issues were raised about them being granting such access and, you know, republicans, ranking member jim jordan of the judiciary committee, of the oversight committee said that he has reached agreement with the white house to bring but to talk about the processes in the securities

judiciary committee this coming thursday. the dispute apparently is over who questions him. well, one member of the committee joins us now, madeline, congresswoman, welcome to fox news channel. >> good morning, thanks for having me. eric: of course, well, the department we are told objects to both the democratic and the republican counselors of the committee question barr after the questions from you guys, members, and also apparently object to plans to go into executive session and start discussing grand jury. with all of that, do you think the attorney general will show? >> i have no idea, i know that our judiciary committee takes seriously to complete investigations and to get the facts before the american public. and i believe it is our independent decision how we run our committee hearings, i totally support our committee's

plan to have members question to have our counsel question and, of course, the purpose of going behind closed doors if there's anything that's confidential, grand jury material that he would need to be able to talk to attorney general barr about. i'm puzzled by attorney general barr at this point suggesting he will not show. and it's puzzling because you see that across this administration including the president saying he doesn't think the members of his administration should honor the subpoenas, what do they have to hide? eric: well, bar could say you guys are trying to change the rules, do counselors talk to people who are witnesses after members of congress in your committee when you have hearings? >> historically that has been one to have committee formation so it is not without precedent and also we are a coequal branch. we actually get to determine their rules for the operation of our committee and the purpose is singular, to get all of the

information, to get all of the information before the american people because let's take a look at what the mueller report shows, it shows sweeping and systematic interference by russia in our 2016 election. it shows the president and his contemporaries welcomed that public, publicly welcomed that interference and also showed multiple circumstances, more than 10 circumstances where the president instead of saying we have a serious problem here, police investigate this, where he actually obstructed justice, we have every responsibility at this grave time in our history to hold this administration accountable. eric: well, those 10 that you cite, for example, the president called to fire mueller and the president denies that he did that, they are not proven. >> we don't know that the president denies, he didn't cooperate, he didn't come in and testify, mcgann did testify, he testified not only that he was

behaviors of obstruction, again, it is about the faithful execution of his office, we do not see that in -- and the mueller report says, serious evidence of obstruction and more than that, the president himself failed to cooperate with this. it's husbandtology me why attorney general barr has mischaracterized this. why is he carrying the president's water, seems to me that the attorney general has given away, poured away his own credibility in buckets but trying to offer the president the cover of no collusion or some sort of exoneration, there is no exoneration, special counsel mueller said if he could so say he would say so but instead what said is i'm obligate today preserve for the future at a time when this president could be indicted when he is out of office the testimony, the information, the

arthel: getting a rare april snowstorm, yeah, and there could be more winter weather on the way for parts of the country, meteorologist adam klotz has the freaky forecast, hey, adam.
