study we're learning right now doing a beth moore bible study called breaking free. we have homework tonight and i think five homer concessions every week and you don't have to do it every day but we need to sit down in your one-on-one with god and go through the workbook pages and beth moore tells you to look up scripture and answer questions you dive into it and she tells personal stories about her people she met on the road and you just have that alone time with god. then we get together at the bible study and watch a video that corresponds with what we learned. beth moore is standing at the pulpit talking to group a women talks about how she loves girls and women and have a heart for all of us and were all precious in mind and she feels like god has asked her to talk to women and so she is an amazing bible teacher. learning about the bible and there for your fans if you have a problem you can ask us to pray for you and we have a text and

bend with each other for a long time, most of us. when you are in the depths of despair and you need faith you can pray to god on your own but sometimes you just need to pick up the phone to talk to a friend some of those girls have been there for me and i hope i've been there for them and just love each other so much. abby: strength in numbers and got through when we gather. how did you choose which bible study workbook to select? >> we've done priscilla scheier and beth moore and you were about to do experiencing god and there were three or four of us going through things in our relationship and problems in our relationship and we decided to do breaking free because we needed to break free of the strongholds that were holding us back to making us feel like we cannot breathe and some day feeling like you don't even want to be here anymore because you

just want jesus to come back. there has been people experiences we've gone through and felt like a bible study was breaking free from the shackles that hold us down and being able to go deeper with god. abby: ainslie, why do you want people to watch the show? >> i hope people can watch this bible study and have a little bit of hope if you go through a hard time or even if you're not maybe you can learn something about the lord and how much he loves you and in our bible study we talk about how much his love will never change for you. it's an unconditional love and so many people are going through hard times and just need to know god is there so hopefully this will be an uplifting message matter where you are in your life and i hope people walk away knowing the hope and love of jesus christ. abby: ainslie, thank you for letting me be a part bible study because it was an incredible experience and thank you for joining us. >> thank you.

abby: ed joins me right now. ed thank you for joining me. >> thank you, great to see a. abby: this is based off your book, 42 favorite what inspired you? >> every april 15 we have jackie robinson day because every team has number 42 retired and that was something but did back on the 50th anniversary of jackie's first game. april 15, 1947. we have this ritual and i'm a big baseball fan and i always wondered how did jackie really do it? he broke the color barrier. the first black player in the game the first minority got out there and tell with this hate that it was not just people starting the and word but people with death threats and most file, discussing things and this is america in 1947. i went on this journey, frankly, to dig out what is the real story and i was turned down by publisher after publisher because we saw the movie, 42.

they saw the hollywood version which is very sanitized when i presented to them the fact that i had gone through jackie's personal writings at the library of congress for example which people have not done and found how he himself in an unpublished miniskirt had said that the power of prayer and his faith in god talk to him by his mother at an early educate from a broken home is what got him through and pulled him up by his bootstraps. it made it very clear to me there was something more than just the white general manager, branch rickey picking the black player, jackie robinson. ricky was also someone with a strong christian faith from his own mother growing up in ohio and jackie goes up in california so white man, but man, ohio, california, young, old these two are different generations, different races but they both had he deep shared faith in god. i think that was the secret ingredient not just about baseball and civil rights but all important but it was their joint deep faith in god they got them through it. in the documentary we explain it

point by point and it's awe-inspiring. abby: you are right. such a special angle to the story because jackie robinson is a story that will stand the test of time so what was your favorite part about making this documentary? >> may be going to new hampshire and sitting down with ken burns was done these wonderful documentaries about civil war, vietnam war, baseball, he did the epic documentary on baseball and did one was powerful and jackie robinson so sitting down and talking about the cutting room floor for him and getting him to cooperate with fox nation was remarkable because the stories he told as well -- after jackie breaks the color barrier in 47 the next 11 most valuable players in the national league, nine of the next 11 are black. you got willie mays, ernie banks, monte irvin and now today there's not as many black bears
