foundation mike gonzalez joins us. what can the president do to push the envelope? >> this is an international problem, cuba put in hugo chavez, and trained them how to win elections and then cuba has 25,000 security officers in venezuela. obviously russia is involved in china is involved because china, on social media tuesday. we have to have a serious conversation with china and say i know you learned billions to venezuela but you will not get maduro and we have to put real pressure on havana, the fountain head of all the evil in the hemisphere and donald trump took the right step by threatening the cuban government with sanctions, complete embargo

unless we understand the intelligence, cuban security forces are no longer taking part in oppression of the venezuelan people. jillian: you say maduro's days are numbered but he has key military support, dropping up his regime right now so if he is able to withstand this uprising, what happens to juan guaido? >> maduro is relying on supporting key generals who make a lot of money that goes through venezuela and north america. cannot feel very good about maduro at this point because they were on the tarmac taking him to havana with his family so he's willing to go in the only reason he stayed is they said you are not going anywhere. at the same time, trying to

strike a negotiation with a legitimate government and lopez. what you have is a bunch of scorpions in a bottle. john bolton said they are not trusting each other. the situation is unsustainable. how can i trust maduro? how can he trust generals? he can only trust the cubans. that is the source of the problem. rob: your position as we need to convince the bad actors like cuba, china, russia, they will not get what they want out of this and need to stop supporting him. if they did work and power was transferred from maduro, how does that impact the us? >> they have the largest oil reserves. the monroe doctrine is alive and says the us will support the democratic republics in the

bench? the only thing i miss is not having a bailiff to shut people up when they should be shut up. we could have used a bailiff in the hearing yesterday. what became clear, barr was being set up. it was not a summary. he tried to get conclusions out there. they had the whole report. they refused to look at an unredacted report. jillian: let's talk about the letter. on march 27th robert mueller wrote william barr a letter complaining about his 4-page summary. and a phone call later on where mueller said he didn't have an issue with the bottom line conclusions. he just felt william barr should have released more information.

should william barr have been candid about that letter or the conversations when lawmakers asked him about mueller's opinion on his conclusion? >> he was candid. he was honest about it. it was made clear the real problem mueller had was not with what he said. he said the letter was not inadequate. he was upset the way the media was portraying the report but he got the report out as quickly as he could. the only reason they are sniping at william barr is to set him up and i think the appropriate way to proceed would be to have mueller come forward and testify about his report. >> releasing 19 pages, william barr didn't do it. of all the smoke, that is a fair

needs to fight differently? they were all together in one group where they were. it is a little trickier? >> it becomes much trickier. we will see two things. number one, a lot of the fighters from the islamic state went to libya and are fighting for the un approved government for al qaeda fighters and donald trump seems to be backing field marshal to take them on, backing people against the muslim brotherhood and isis and law enforcement, normal security model trying to stop terror attacks on an individual basis. rob: we are negotiating with the taliban and, the fact that you are negotiating with this group, this is the direction the president and his advisers are going to go. >> it pains me and pains everybody in trying to fight
