one hit wonder, only play the record finally. carley: this is your moment. good morning, you are watching "fox and friends first" on friday morning. rob: thanks for getting up early with us. police chasing a migrant trying to escape a shelter in mexico. this as mexican authorities deport 100 migrants trying to get to the united states. carley: a major sign mexico is keeping his promise of the trump administration in battling the border crisis. live from mexico a firsthand look inside an overcrowded shelter. good morning. >> reporter: about an hour ago take a look at this video you we had a migrant trying to escape this shelter which is holding a lot of cubans.

he did not get out. the police caught him before he got over this tall wall next to me but speaking of cubans the mexican officials deporting 93 of them from this shelter. we followed the van to the airport for exclusive video and images of those migrants being sent on a plane, deported back to cuba honoring mexico's promised to donald trump to send people back where they came from rather than allowing them to get across the us border. the cubans are of note. at this shelter they have been aggressive, there is a riot two nights ago that left a vehicle smashed when ambulances were coming and going. that is because perhaps injuries sustained in that uprising. some footage, not inside here but in the other shelters, two main shelters and we got a firsthand exclusive look where you see a lot of families and people from all over the globe

carley: the economy will at 185,000 jobs, slightly above the 3-month average, the number that stuck out to me, the average hourly earnings anticipate 3% from a year ago. how long can we expect this momentum to continue? have we reached the peak? is that true? >> they are a thing we reached the peak. the thing is strong productivity growth is not from businesses investing in machinery. it is businesses investing in artificial intelligence and training workers. that is why people are optimistic. they are getting training on the jobs to be more productive. that will translate into wage increases as people change their roles. what is going on at walmart, management structure in stores getting higher pay, more responsibility, assisted by software.

my feeling is 2019-2020, and ordinary working americans. rob: 52% of voters say the president is doing a good job on the economy and that is up quite a bit, 56%. on wall street people talk about credit cycle and expansion in the credit cycle and how long this has been going on. a friend of mine told me it has been going on for a long time now. the concern is whether it will continue into 2020 and through the election. what do you think? >> consumers of not been borrowing recklessly. you don't have friends getting a second or third mortgage and refinancing annually and getting credit card debt. that is gone. consumers are learning to be more conservative with their finance. what that means is nine years into the recovery, we have a lot of bullets left in their rifles.

this is 93 cuban migrants held initial behind me being deported. you see them being put on a federal police plane. being sent back to havana, one of a handful of migrants that have been deported on their way to the us, slowing the migrant flow. the shelter behind me is only one of two. we got a firsthand look inside the other shelter, a fascinating look at the number of migrants from all over the globe. officials say there are some 1200 here, in pakistan, bangladesh, sri lanka, uganda, cameroon and the congo. it is a little concerned because of the ebola outbreak. we met one person named marcus, a migrant from congo who is fully well aware the diseases like ebola should not get to the us.

heather: he didn't show up at some wonder why media democrats are more focused on the attorney general than russian interference. rob: the independent women's forum and president of district media group has an idea what is happening here, she joins us live to explain what is with the coverage of william barr in the obsession. >> many in the media and many democrats didn't get what they want in the mueller report so they are moving on to william barr saying there is a scandal with all of this. what is ironic about this is william barr's behavior is the opposite of a cover-up. the thing we need to remember is he did release the entire mueller report with very few redactions does 25 days after the investigation was completed. for people to say this is a cover-up, he is presenting mueller's reported his own words. that is why it is laughable.

carley: you are right about that. most people thought it would be more redacted than it was. donald trump is saying enough is enough. is threatening to invoke executive privilege to keep congressional staffers from testifying. william barr skipped the hearing. is that the right strategy? doesn't that play into democrats narrative that donald trump and william barr are being uncooperative? where should they draw that line? >> both the president and the attorney general have to be careful on this but there is so much attention being paid to william barr not showing up at yesterday's house hearing he did speak to the senate for over 6 hours. another part of the house hearing yesterday, they changed the rules on him going into it. not just supposed to be, it was supposed to be just members of congress asking him questions. they changed that to staff attorneys, which is the type of behavior you would see if

someone was under criminal investigation. they changed the rules on him. it is important for those supporting william barr, those supporting the president, to make it clear there's a lot of interesting tactics going on by democrats and in the long run, what people are going to remember is the mueller report speaks for this whole situation, and trying to pin this on the attorney general i don't think works in democrats favor. rob: looking at coverage of the event william barr skipped yesterday. on cnn, one hour and 21 minutes, two mentions, every democrat and their mother call for william barr's resignation. 10 mentions of william barr to resign. the view on abc got 16 minutes and 0 mentions. that is a big topic the attorney general should resign. >> he did nothing for him to

have to resign. calling for him to re-sign based on lying, he hasn't lied. that is something the speaker of the house nancy pelosi brought up yesterday. a lot of interesting stunts at the hearing, at the house. congress bringing in a bucket of fried chicken, you had them putting a chicken as a prop in front of it. calling him the chicken when he spent 6 hours testifying the day before. is kind of funny and also if democrats wanted to point to something, they do have a case, asking robert mueller why he didn't decide to move forward with any indictment against the president when it comes to obstruction of justice. even the attorney general said he was surprised robert mueller didn't move forward with some clear decision on that. democrats want to point to anything i think they can look to mueller and ask why he didn't make a decision on that front. carley: every can agree it is never too early to eat fried
