>> we are with our time chris free that's it jesse: welcome to watters world, i'm jesse watters. we begin with real news of the week. democrats in the house judiciary committee voting to hold attorney general william barr in contempt of congress for refusing to turn over the full, unredacted mueller report. by the way, they're declaring this a constitutional crisis. listen. >> ever wonder what a constitutional crisis looks like? well, open your eyes. >> we are now in a constitutional crisis. >> president trump appears to be heading toward a constitutional crisis. >> i saw this coming and mentioned the constitutional crisis. >> we're hovering on a constitutional crisis. >> we're in a constitutional conflict that's careening toward a crisis. >> do you agree with congressman
11:01 pm
nadler that we're in a constitutional crisis? jesse: all presidents refuse to hand things over to congress. democrat, republican. i guess when president trump's president, then it becomes a crisis. 98% of the mueller report has been released. the 2% that hasn't been is grand jury testimony. and it's against the law to release that. so democrats are holding barr in contempt for following the law by the way, the left took a very different stance on it in 2012 when republicans held eric holder in the contempt for stonewalling the fast and the furious investigation. watch. >> instead of bringing job-creating legislation to the floor, the transportation bill, they are holding the attorney general of the united states in contempt of congress for doing his job. >> that is an outrageous abuse of the contempt power. what will happen when this congress actually needs to use the contempt power for a
11:02 pm
legitimate purpose? will anyone still recognize it? >> every single republican voted to hold the attorney general in contempt over this crazy conspiracy theory. >> tell the republicans to stop this witch hunt now. >> it just looks like more of our broken politics and vicious fights now out in the open. >> a party in the congress that does just about nothing to create jobs decided the best way to do their job is to shower the obama administration with subpoenas. >> for a lot of people, this is republican versus democrat, and they think this is just theater. >> jesse: i loved that they called it a witch hunt. meanwhile, as barr investigates the spying of the 2016 trump campaign, former director of national intelligence james clapper admitted that spying did occur. >> was it spying? >> well yeah, i guess it meets the duction their definition of -- dictionary definition of surveillance or spying. jesse: border patrol officials sounding the alarm on the
11:03 pm
immigration crisis, calling it off the charts. the agency reported hi nabbing nearly 100,000 at the border in april. the department of homeland security now dna testing families to prove their relationships since so many illegals are just bringing random kids with them across the border. following april's huge job numbers, and its near 50-year low unemployment rate, delusional 2020 democrats are now trying to spin president trump's hot economy, claiming he doesn't deserve the credit, but that obama does. [laughter] watch this. >> i love that trump is taking credit for a recovery that started under obama. but the substance of -- who's this economy going to work for? and we had a tax plan that was all about giving the wealthiest people more of a break. we've got to make sure that this is a shared recovery, because right now it definitely is not. >> do you give president trump the credit? >> i give our workers and our businesses the credit, jake. so i think that we have had

policies in place starting with president obama that have aided that recovery. >> the economy is doing well. and i'm -- i don't have to give trump any credit, i'm sure he'll take all the credit that he wants. jesse: i love how democrats are saying this it's their economy,t it's not working for middle class americans. and, by the way, what specific policies did obama enact that created the trump economic boom in let me know. wages are up, fastest clip in ten years. america lost manufacturing jobs under obama and now have added nearly a half million under president trump. gas prices are lower on average. i could go on and on, but the american people see it. look at the numbers. trump's approval rating hitting its highest level since his inauguration. recent gallup poll showing at this point in his presidency trump edging out president obama by two points. 46-44. speaking of approval, americans do not approve of socialism.
11:05 pm
a new monmouth university poll shows only 10% have a positive view of socialism. that doesn't bode well for bernie, who's falling behind biden in the polls bigtime. biden taking a 26-point lead in the democratic field in the real clear politics national average with 41% compared to sanders' only 15%. but you wouldn't know that by looking at the size of biden's rallies. here he is drawing a few hundred, hundred people in south carolina. and that was actually one of his bigger crowds. as you can see, he averages between a few dozen to a few hundred. [laughter] i mean, not even close to trump's turnout. only 75 people showed up at one biden rally are. [laughter] unbelievable. democrats running out of original ideas also. they know they can't beat trump in 2020, so now they're once

11:07 pm
freedom to tiger woods. it is, in effect, publicizing one of the trump golf courses there in dubai that tiger woods had a hand in. jesse: trump giving the medal of freedom to tiger is corrupt. also i thought the president was racist, and they're criticizing him for giving tiger woods an award? unbelievable. and for the record, woods is the fourth professional golfer awarded the nation's highest civilian honor following arnold palmer, jack nicklaus and charlie safe order. joining me now, the president's daughter-in-law and senior adviser for the trump 2020 campaign, laura trump. i thought you were giggling a little bit when we played the sound bite -- [laughter] of the democrats saying we can't beat him, we've got to impeach him. >> it's like a gift. whether it's the green new deal, i mean, socialism as you see 10% of americans think is a great idea, and the 90% of us out there that actually think understand that it's a terrible
11:08 pm
idea. jesse: yeah. it's the crazy 10% that vote in the democrat party, that's the problem. >> exactly. whether they're going to impeach him, they're going to abolish the electoral college now, they know they can't beat him so, i don't know, they're a mess. but we love it. let 'em keep going. jesse: and remember, we're in a constitutional crisis. [laughter] this is a serious crisis we are in because william barr, the a.g., is following the law. he's not allowed to hand over grand jury testimony, so they're impeaching him or holding him in contempt for following the law. how nuts that? >> it's unbelievable. by the way, william barr was a man who was so so well respected by democrats, by republicans for so many years. he's been, you know, part of this group of people in washington d.c. not until he is the attorney general under president donald j. trump does everybody decide, wait a minute, this guy's gotta go. i mean, it's crazy. jesse: i love the double standard with eric holder too. >> of course. jesse: when the republicans held
11:09 pm
him in contempt for stonewalling fast and furious, that was a win hunt! that was a serious -- witch hunt. but when they do it for something perfectly legal that william barr is doing, it's a constitutional crisis. and remember, lara, the fast and furious thing, people died. they sold guns to to smugglers, thousands of guns wound up in mexico in american is cities, a border patrol agent, an i.c.e. agent shot dead. barack obama actually said we made a serious mistake. eric holder gets up there, won't turn things over, lies about what he knew and says he'll never do it again. that was a real scandal. >> it's so sad. and, you know, no matter what they do, whether they're harassing our attorney general, they're harassing my brother-in-law, the president, it's not going to change the outcome of the mueller report! we still didn't collude with russia. the president still didn't collude with russia. i don't know what the goal is here. jesse: they can't accept the mueller report just like they can't accept the election.

[laughter] we now have people that have gone to capitol hill and that are doing training sessions for democrats so they can appear on fox news. they are giving them advice on how to handle themselves on fox news interviews. and i'm thinking to myself, how much of a bubble are democrats living in when they're not even used to having someone challenge their policies -- >> right.
