they're saying it will be tangible actions. >> let's start with our first mom. so happy to be here today. i have five children. one had special needs and i survived the media advisory board. we are thrilled to be with you. i'm the proud mother of 228 and 26. i served in various capacities. >> wonderful, thank you carrie. many people know me from california in 2009, first runner-up to ms. usa. i have two little ones six and seven, they are the light of

my life. i'm happy to be here back next, holly turner. >> so i have three boys, i'm an attorney, i have my own small business and i'mbu a texan but currently residing on the east coast. >> great. we want to start with the idea of why you support president trump. was there an issue that animated you and made you really want to jump in. >> i think it was obamacare that iin just kept thinking what that was going to do to trash our economy. i watch this president, didn't you feel like you kind of related to the average american, he wasn't the perfect politician like we get so often and i frankly just believed him when he talks. it's always about the economy when you have kids. you're worried about their future andwo so me, i just thought i have hopes for their future. at that moment in, the debate when we talked about abortion,

i was getting emotional now but i thought man, this guy's different. he's not going to disappoint like the others have. i didn't really have faith that either of them y were gonna hold their ground. being nervous. >> what made you think that even though he is pro-choice and even though up until the election you never heard of prolactin, what makes you think you can believe in him to the promises he was making to the public community? >> i did not really in the beginning i was not sure he would, i assumed he would probably be stopped on the issue. once in the white house the kind of backpedal but that moment when he was so forceful and we were talking about abortions and late-term abortions, he was emotional about it and i can't imagine any other candidate being that sincere.

>> any spoke of unvarnished terms. >> rematch. >> there is an issue in particular that made you just -- >> i've been on the trump campaign ever since he walked in ask later. i knew him from when he was my boss in california. any on the pageant. most of the women wanted to do he is a because he was the owner, and everything he touched turned to gold. and truly that is what happened. when he announced that he was running for president i had no doubt in my mind that he was going to be our president. i extended my support to him early on and we had great conversations and he was even helpful to possibly win the state of california. >> he put it on you. >> he is a blue-collar billionaire. he speaks to the people and for the people. he talks the way we talk. and people listen to him.

for me being a mom, i think the most import take is that when he speaks i believe him. i really do and i trust him. so he sort of is a hero to me and he's her protector. i really feel that we finally have a president that protects us and our children. >> and other elections ec politicians who have apologized for but anyway i feel like when i checked other moms they say it's his wealth and the fact that he really didn't need the job, and they feel like he has nothing to lose, he will look out for me and not some other interest. >> it's interesting because you are for member of congress and talked a lot about obama made her want to vote for tom. >> i had to work with president obama. >> my husband had this experience in townhouse, all members of congress to the town hall and he was asked a question in his town hall, raise your

hand this is during the obama era, if you think your children will do better than you economically and no one agreed or raise their hands. how much of your decision to back trump is about that? >> i cannot agree more, i think my own mother, my beautiful precious mother who immigrated hear from england. and she was bored really to dignified and fairly bitter means and was always conservative, she is born in america, she believed in the beauty and dignity of being able to support us and others. and be a great mom. and members of her community. what i loved about president trump, with the utmost sincerity, he -- he lays on the

line for you. and he embraces what has made this country great, which is the free market, free market price economy, as a doctor, that was my life before politics, as a doctor, i shared her deep concern about unfortunately what healthcare we do can only our country. the supporting president trump was an easy decision. >> once president trump was elected, there is a backlash, you remember his inauguration happened in the very next day was the women's march which turned out to be less of a women's march and into truck much, but it was after march that they lashed out that women who voted for trump were betrayed their gender, we had michelle obama saint when people vote for trump their voting against her interest. when hillary clinton said, women voted for trump because their husbands or sons force into.

when you hear that hysteria, when you hear those comments, what is your reaction and what kind of conversations are you having with other women who voted for trump around those comments? >> most of the women that i know who voted for trump got their families to do it, got their husbands to do it. literally out of exception i asked that question, i find it so fascinating that the left wants to paint the present under president as an antiwoman candidate. which is not. if you look at civil facts that we can or cannot provide for family, you look at obama and the president has reduced fema on employment by double, female unemployment is less than half of what it was under president obama. despite his economic thing, that resulted vacation time with the family, dean able to send your kids to the school you want to send them to. and then children's tax credit, child tax code, $2000 under the president, those are real

differences that i saw that this president who is a businessman would make in the government, i think it is life-changing for most women, not only do most women get their husbands to vote, but a lot of them are busy getting the husband to vote for them this time. >> i supported him very early on and it took my husband a little while, he kept saying i don't know, it made him nervous. so i think you're right, i think a lot of women had that gut feeling. this is the right thing. >> i find it insulting. over and over again and particularly in the postelection among the democrats when listening to husbands and sons. we can't make up our own minds?

that was demeaning. and that his entire democratic. resident trump spoke of empowering us, if you look at his life, he is surrounded himself with women who he is empowered and all of whom are strong, unafraid to say and do what they think is right. so hollywood has this image of what a trump supporting woman looks like, what her life is like, what do you think is a greatest understanding about trump supporting women and mobs? >> one think they like to say they're uneducated. this is not true. this is a roomful of very educate women and we support him in his economic, we understand history for this country, they live in middle america, which the elites don't like, they think that's the worst part of america, who would want to live there? and we just talked about it being amazing. but middle america, that is real

america, those of the people that were kurt and want to take care of the family. >> you'd be surprised, i live in san diego, and their own so many trump supporters in san diego, don't believe the media, you see bumper stickers, i was driving the other day and i saw a guy with a big trump 2020 east a in a pull up next to him and him and give him a thumbs up. people are not afraid and it's awesome, but there are people who are afraid, i think that there are more supporters than you really think. >> may be the question really should be why didn't more women, for hillary clinton customer why didn't they? policy but again insulting to women. as though we cannot make up our own minds. again, identity politics, and president trump does not practice that, he is always encompassing, it made such a different, it was so refreshing it was depressing to look at hillary's campaign. >> what about the order of corruption around it. especially toward the end question what do you think that had impact question i probably did. it's asking women to vote against their own self interest rate that is what she was asking them to do. your healthcare costs will go up, your taxes will go up, your children will have less all the education, why would women want to do that? but the democratic party has relied on the. >> is only think they had to offer. if you look at the policy, they

this pretty he was attacked, physically after that beat into debate. this is something that is near and dear to my heart that we as americans, moms we need to unite on this. most americans just are not racist, it doesn't matter who support for president. >> you bring up in such an interesting point, i think covington high school incident, it was very eye-opening for many american moms. i think that for all the things that happen there that the hat was definitely a big part of it and there were lots of moms who thought, i don't want to let my kids go on a school trip and were the hat because they saw what could happen. so as moms, how much of this is just scary for kids. the fact that people would know better in the media and in the

commentary in academia chose to salvage that young man and examine, i'm glad they're suing him. >> but you feel like young kids wearing make america great hat hats -- there trying to silence him. how do we handle as moms? my kids, they love watching politics, my middle son was three during the election and for some reason, he called the president captain america. effect? >> i was astonished at the number of women whom i know from college, and the princeton alumnus, women who i love and respect, followed somehow not only the process, the failure to acknowledge the accusers had motivation and not credible, the absolutely, people whom i would expect to know better were firmly against justice kavanaugh, and i was determined of course, i have many friends who were then with judge kavanaugh, but i was amazed at the suspension of what one would think of the universal

principles, like everyone who is accused have him or her day in court. >> was a party affiliation, of a group of friends and it seems to me that the one step son startled and alarmed by what was happening. once it did have kids seem to be the easiest, they followed along with every bit. it was a very personal thing because all he saw, his mom was behind him, and i thought that could be my kid one day. in your heartbreaks. >> or your husband. my husband served in the senate in missouri, but i remember being so afraid of someone trying to destroy his career of choosing a something he did not do. i would say don't get on the elevator. people make fun of the vice president and he makes of those things. >> some of that behavior made

sense. they will always find a way, whatever the conservative is doing, they will find a way around. >> i remember watching, and maybe you guys are with me, but i remember watching the hearing and i was glued to the television, and i get emotional about it because my heart broke for him, because he is an amazing man and they tried so hard, dirty politics try to ruin him with his education and his family. i have a sexual boy, i thought, someday, are they going to do this to him it is he going to be attacked simply because he wants to be on the supreme court or whatever and so, i cannot stop bawling my eyes out and i said, we have to do something, we are to stand up, this cannot happen. to see the president support him through it all, this shows that he is such a fighter.

boldly proclaim their support of her president. i think he is going to see numbers surpassing 2016. >> a lot of what the concerns are his style. even his mom, that can be difficult sometimes to expand to children, some of the language that the president uses, some of the attacks feel not so mommy friendly how do you explain that to your kids? >> i think he is human and relatable is a great thing in a president, most of us especially moms are so promises made and never cut. we are promises made and promises kept and even if you don't like the promises he made, it is not your politics, but what if the politician kept that loyalty to the voter, i think you can explain that to your children to easily and that he is human because we are all human and who wants the plastic prepared perfect politician

anymore who just like to you in the campaign and never delivered on his promises, who would want that? it's a great character of her children. he stands up to bullies. he said that for kids in france. and it's a perfect example, i'm going to stand by my friend, loyalty and keeping promises. what more do you want? it's perfect for kids. >> even standing up, carrie used it up to the newark times, tell us what happened. >> i was a typical mom raising my family i remember hearing this story about the nerd times and they put my name in it and they twisted it and it seemed i had a bad experience with trump if they really did their homework they would've seen in the huge trump supported. this was a big trump to disrespect women. i remember that feeling and i talked my husband and i said, i

have to speak out. i cannot just, it's easy to say silent and do the mom thing, but i have to speak out. and i just remember calling up sean hannity and i said i need to set the record straight. i set the record straight, i said listen, i'm a huge trump supported, my experience has been nothing then good experiences with him. his professional, and this is what i say to people, he was around the most beautiful, single, naïve, or young, naive, and not one of these women in all of these years who have been ms. usa or ms. universe has said anything bad about him, ways that customer but he's a success, mistreat women, if anything, he empowers them, he empowered me, he gave me many opportunities to further my career and he took me under his wing and said anything you want to call bush i would help you. and that is who he is.

>> you decided to fight back. what to say to women who are afraid, i'm a friend who has a business and hosted an event approach trump event in her business was trashed online, protest outside, these are genuine fears that women have who have businesses, families, kids in school, what is into that? >> i think it's all the more important that folks like us stay resolute and speak out and you know what, we can speak as mom to moms, we could speak as women's women, we can speak of citizens to citizens. i think when we are on a train to express what is going to write with this president and we have all the facts and figures for those who like the skins of things, but the appeal to the heart and soul is there as well.

because this president wants to elevate everyone's future. putting people back to work means dignity, it means empowerment for every one of us, he cares about education, he cares about our veterans, their are so many great things that this president does. >> for those women who are afraid, we need to get behind them, and rally behind them, the president has her back. >> we need to do a better job of that. and all the women who are listening, i encourage you to still speak out, be bold and don't ever be afraid. >> especially grandmas, i will t to encourage you, they are afraid, but 30 know everything. moms and grandmas, more choices and more times with the children than any president to do. >> coming up, the 2020 election is around the corner, but what

will come back to moms. things are heating up in the 2020 election and the pressure is on for the president to lock-in the female in the suburban vote. one thing we do not talk a lot about is how donald trump one the rural women. but the suburban vote is up for grabs. what kind of advice would you give to donald trump and his team on how to win back the suburban mom? two i would say, stay the course. with the first years of his presidency, maybe it's a first year of his presidency, there is
