>> always a good thing. >> behave. keeping an eye on you. >> i look forward to that. go to the right floor tuesday. have a great weekend. "outnumbered" starts now. >> fox news alert. president trump about to depart for an official visit to japan. we could hear from him before he boards marine one on the way to joint base andrews. meantime, taking a major step to investigate the surveillance of his 2016 campaign and the origins of the russia probe ordering all 16 u.s. intelligence agencies to cooperate with william barr's investigation and giving the a.g. the authority to declassify any documents related to his work. this is "outnumbered." happy friday. i'm melissa francis. we have dagen mcdowell, lisa

boothe, capri cafaro and joining us on the couch, alex conan, former communications director for marco rubio. a lot of communicating going on in washington. it's not very friendly communicating, i'm afraid. maybe you can give them advice. >> i'm from minnesota. minnesota nice. >> yeah, that might work in a nice -- >> unless you're amy klobuchar. >> not nice. >> here we go. president trump ordering all u.s. intelligence agencies including cia, fbi and dni to quickly cooperate with attorney general barr's investigation into the launch of the russia probe and the surveillance of the russia campaign. judiciary chairman lindsey graham telling "fox and friends" that this is part of a larger review of those investigating

his campaign were politically motivated. >> barr will look at it from a criminal point of view. horowitz will tell us how the department of justice and the fbi behaved. i'm going to make sure it never happens again. i want to make sure that we have fisa laws that can detect when somebody is giving the court garba garbage. you can't just open a counter intelligence investigation on a candidate without good reason. >> adam schiff criticizing the president's decision tweeting "while trump stone walls the public from learning the truth about his obstruction of justice, trump and barr conspire to weaponize law enforcement and classified information against their political enemies. the cover-up has entered a new and dangerous phase, this is un-american." alex, i love it. the cover-up is the declassifying of information.
9:03 am
feels jumbo shrimp to me. >> his tweet made no sense. >> jumbo shrimp? >> his tweet is the whole point. what happened in 2016, our intelligence services were politicized, that is un-american. we don't want that to happen if future elections. there's an investigation that the attorney general is now conducting into that. at the same time, congress wants to have their own investigations which the trump administration doesn't want to participate with. i think this is all healthy. it's going to take some time. i think the american people are getting sick of it. >> dagen? >> sick of finding out why the investigation into the trump campaign was started in the first place? >> it's been going on for four years. it hasn't. bill barr as he pointed out with bill hemmer last week, robert mueller did not look at the predicate for the investigation being launched. he didn't look at the evidencery
9:04 am
basis of that. he looked at potential collusion and cooperation between russia and the trump campaign. it bears looking at. given what we know, it bears looking at. you don't even need to get into the weeds with this. you had a campaign official from the trump campaign spied on. the basis of that warrant was a dossier put together and paid for by his political opponent. that's all that you need to know. there's millions of americans that want to get to the bottom of this. who thinks there was manipulation against president trump and his campaign in the election. if you're worried about russian interference and we got the mueller investigation, you better be worried -- >> people are concerned. transparency and more information is always important regardless of who is behind it and things like this. they need to be exposed. to your point, i think there's a
9:05 am
generic fatigue of investigations in general. i agree with you that obviously the mueller investigation has touched these issues. i have a question. what about the i.g. report coming out? how does that interface with this? a lot of conversation -- >> the i.g. report, they can't subpoena and call people no longer in government. so all of the people that were dirty dealers that were fired are not a subject to it. what we're going to learn is a big question. here's what lindsey graham had to say about that. >> we need this court because people are out to get us. the point is, if you can take the law in your own hands for political purposes, it's not good for a democracy. here's what i think you're going to learn. the people involved had political motives, out to get trump and wanted to help clinton. how do you prosecute her if you want her to win? the reason she wasn't charged is because they knew that if they charged her, she probably wouldn't win the election.
9:06 am
>> he goes on to say that we're going to find out that papadopoulos, they knew that he didn't have russia connections long -- very early on in this investigation. did nothing about it. they knew that the steele dossier was a liar and that the dossier was a disaster long before they took it to the fisa court and kept renewing it. go ahead. >> absolutely. i think the base question is why did they ever use the dossier in the first place to obtain a fisa warrant? we know that they were warned by bruce ohr, warned by top states department officials about the fact that christopher steele was not credible and he had a politic political animus. and ohr said he warned top doj officials that steele was funded by the clinton campaign. so why did they use the dossier which has been debunked to obtain a fisa warrant?
9:07 am
i find it to be the height of hypocrisy that the president is targeting his political opponents. where were they when fbi's doj used democrat opposition research to target and spy on the political opponent, then candidate trump and the trump administration? come on. >> trey gowdy said last weekend that once the american people read those transcripts and see the conversations, this will all change. they'll see from the start this was a faulty investigation. can you imagine trump unbound then? >> i want to say quickly that the president right now is talking to the press corps and we'll have that as soon -- we don't know what he's talking about. as we said before, he's getting ready to leave the white house. talking to reporters on the way out. we'll have it soon. dagen? >> what about the fact that this appears to have really started in 2015 with information from
9:08 am
intelligence agencies coming in to the united states being essentially funneled as a clearing house from intelligence agencies. those that protest the loudest have the most to louis. i point to john brennan and jim comey. they're pointing their fingers that know, we didn't want the dossier and the intelligence assessment. they're now blaming one another for wanting to put that piece of information in there. now looking at what went on between the election and the inauguration of why they were trying to basically clean up what they had done. because they -- the assumption was, hillary clinton if she wins, this won't be uncovered. so all of that will be looked at. >> i have a hypothetical question. what happens if and when all of this stuff gets out there to the public domain, which it should, but ends up the republican version of what we've seen like the democratic witch hunt where there is people like adam schiff saying we know that there's
9:09 am
collusion. we know there's obstruction and then -- >> so you saying unless there's no there there on the collusion -- >> there's all of these people salivating and clamoring. then all of a sudden -- >> we'll see. we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. >> that's my argument to the democrats that are creating this new narrative and the weaponization of bill barr's weaponization of the doj. let us look. let us find out the predicate of this. >> and also the inspector general's report which will be harder for democrats to attack. he's supposed to be looking at entities like the doj and find abuse -- >> they'll attack it. >> they will. >> i want to let people know once again, the president is talking to the press right now as we speak. we'll bring that to you. it's a tape play-back. we'll bring it as soon as we can, as soon as we're allowed to do that. so don't go far. should be spicy.

i was extremely calm. i was probably even more so in that room. so i walked into the cabinet room. you had the group, crying chuck, crazy nancy. i tell you what, i've been watching her. i have been watching her. she's not the same person. she's lost it. >> the president asking aides to confirm his contention that he did not throw a tantrum as pelosi called it in his brief meeting with the democrats wednesday. >> every time i go into a room, if there aren't cameras, they say he was yelling and screaming. kellyanne, what was my temperament? >> very calm no temper tantrum. they said you were fuming, rage, lost it. that's a lie. >> you were very calm and very direct. you sent a very firm message to the speaker. >> i've seen both. this was not angry or ranting.

>> smart answer. a little while later in that meeting, the president spoke about his consistent support for reform of u.s. trade deals. he referred to himself as a "extremely stable genius." that got a response from speaker pelosi. >> when the extremely stable genius acteds more presidential, i'll be happy to work with him on infrastructure, trade and other issues. i call hog wash on that. what do you say, alex? newt gingrich said even in the impeachment proceedings with president clinton, president clinton knew he did something wrong, he had to power through it. newt could sit down and have discussions with him about the matters of the day. that is not what is happening between the speaker and the president. nothing is getting done for the american people. >> no, i worked in the bush white house in the second term when nancy pelosi was speaker then, too. even though the house democrats back in 2007 and 08 had endless

he talks about everything from infrastructure to the effort to create more transparency and medical and drug pricing. he talked about mueller, he talked about the kind of power that he's given the attorney general bill barr. >> that's been one of the big questions. if all of the classified documents did contain everything people thought, why wouldn't he declassify? now he's doing that. let's listen in. >> we want to be very transparent. as you know, i declassified everything. everything they want. i put it under the auspices of the attorney general. he's in charge of it. he's a great gentleman and a highly respected man. so everything that they need is declassified. they'll be able to see how this hoax or witch hunt started and why it started. it was an attempted coup or take-down of the president of the united states.
