that happened and seeds were planted for me. adrian - - a drug dealer gave me an intervention. mark: why would drug dealers do an intervention quick. >> because i was living in minneapolis and a half hour from where i was doing pills. i had a warrant out for my arrest so i come out of the room three of the biggest dealers i didn't not know they knew each other. they said he's been up 14 days of your shutting him off. what's the matter with you? then he leaves the other guy. mark: weight. you are up for 14 days? you were using and they said that's enough. they will cut you off they went to save your life.

>>. >> they all liked me here is what they said. that one guy left it was his place so he went to shut off his people. than the other one finally went to sleep and i headed down to the streets at 2:30 a.m. i could not get drugs anywhere perk i was very resourceful. and he said give me the phone i want to take a picture of you. you're gonna need it for that memoir you said you were going tol write you will come back someday and talk about this addiction. we are not going to let you die on us. i would tell them all the time this is just a platform.

mark: so the singular event that started to turn your life around? . >> that my sense that i cannot stay here anymore. but it is just too much for me. mark: your son knew you were addicted. >> yes. when the kids were 16 younger they don't rememberth. my daughter said we were a a dysfunctional family. i don't know what that means but don't say that again it soundsid horrible. but then my son hit me with that. but then my friend came to me and he was doing cocaine at the same time and then we

switch to crack about the same time and then i saw he was free of these addictions for about three years. but then i said what are you doing here? he said the lord led me here. that he had been straight for three years i said as long as you are here i have some questions for you. and i said is it boring and he said no. being clean or whatever. but i have never been where the addicts are banned. whenever he said i trusted him because he had been where i had been. he said it's not boring.

how do you feel inside now? so all different questions. but then another month later it was january 16, 2009 i knew that day people say was that your bottom. but moneywise i made sure i didn't have any money left. because i knew it would be an incredible story to help people. i knewth something bad would happen to me. and it was weird thinking but that day i knew that god had chosen for me and with the addiction. . >> did he turn you on to faith? .

>> did he give you the gemstar to do something and going back to the days and after the barn closed and then we would sit and do cocaine i would tell them these drugs are bad. talk about the end times and revelation and going to jail. they didn't quit that day and find jesus. so what do i say? i didn't know but it was me trying to convince myself. and then god chased me basically. >> but in 2017 i did a full surrender two years ago. and what happened there now i can go speak up for jesus.

i went to u.s. bank stadium a couple of months after that born-again experience i told my story over five minutes and i said i'm scared. but then a few months later i met an amusement park with all of these millennial's the teenager said i heard you and you change my life. and your story is so hopeful. even my granddaughter said this is my grandfather. we need to go write some rides. [laughter] mark: what is that like by the way? you are known everywhere. you are ubiquitous.

does that affect the ability to stay straight quick. >> and that others with my worthiness back in the day so i will stop and talk to everybody. . >> you are very outgoing. >> yes. and then i will talk.
