never-trump-eer. he is somebody who does not like donald trump. it did not get the job that he requested very badly and he was appointed. and despite that and despite $40 million, 18 trump haters including the people that work for hillary clinton and some of the worst human beings on earth. they got nothing. it is pretty amazing. >> jesse: his blistering condemnation of mueller comes as democrats and the media are ramping up their impeachment push. >> to impeach or not to impeach? that is a question addressing house democrats. >> prepare for impeachment that's what i told my colleagues. >> of the congress will have no choice but to open an impeachment inquiry into president trump. >> i believe that the president obstructed justice and i would vote to impeach. >> act now or lose our democracy forever. and the only method that we can do that is for our representatives in congress to begin impeachment proceedings. >> it sounds like the special counsel is calling for congress

did you know that -- when did you make the decision that you cannot indict us to mark and if you had that early on, wouldn't some smoke signal have been helpful? because now i think that it is all muddled. >> jesse: he came to that conclusion after the fact. i would also ask him, when did you know that there was no collusion? but that's why he does not want to face congress or the media, because he does not want to answer those questions. >> katie: to pick up on dana's question of when he knew about not being able to indict, the justice department in partnership with the special counsel last night released a joint statement after all of the confusion about the discrepancy between indicting, not indicting, what is allowed under the olc rules, and it seems like based on the statement they released that there was an agreement almost from the beginning about the fact that

you cannot indict the president, but that does not preclude you from looking in investigating and finding may be coconspirators and other people that you can get on other crimes, but based on the statement there was an agreement very early on that they were on the same page when it came to what the justice department regulations said you could do in terms of indicting a sitting president. but on that note going back to the media, have they not learned their lesson about how they handled these kinds of stories? they are going to get president trump reelected. there is a huge risk for democrats, not only in losing the house to nancy pelosi, but the political globe act, if they drop it off in a primary and general election, it shows that they are not willing to do what they said they were going to do, which is the politicking that everybody is trying to get away from. >> jesse: all right, juan, you are not here yesterday. i will let you take the floor. >> juan: i saw today the president going after robert

mueller. in one juncture he says no collusion, right, no obstruction of justice, according to the mueller report, now he says, that mueller, so prejudice, so much a witch hunt, he hates me and had a bad business deal, you cannot trust this guy. wait a minute, you a minute ago were citing this man's work, now you're condemning this man. i think that you have a problem, mr. president. i think that you are being contradictory, you go off and attack everybody. and you said something a moment ago, you said, no evidence of any kind of conspiracy. that is not what mueller said. he said insufficient. and i think that this comes back to the fact that so many people were misled by bob barr. but even more than that, i noticed today, the reaction from conservative suggests that they never read the mueller report. because if they had, they would have known everything that mueller said yesterday. >> jesse: if the media is

saying that the president is a criminally and he is colluding and there is a grain conspiracy from himself and the president of russia, and the special counsel comes back and says there is insufficient to charge anybody with a crime related to conspiracy, isn't that legally is for no collusion? >> juan: no. literally there are 1,000 prosecutors that's a worth regards to obstruction of justice if he was not president, he would have been charged. >> dana: we could find 1,000 other lawyers who stay the other thing. the law is -- and in congress if you want to have a more clear law, then past one. >> greg: there is insufficient evidence that i kidnap to the lindbergh baby. if that is the end, by the way, can i use another literary analogy? the media are like the sirens in the odyssey, they are luring sailors to their death, in other words, the media is luring the

ball. >> jesse: maybe they should bring their gloves and their helmets, but i cannot watch this, and makes you feel sick to your stomach, they should give the family free tickets for life. it is the only way to solve it. i don't know what you can do about these things, freak accidents happen in life, i am a freak accident, there is nothing you can do about it. other sports, golf, someone slices one half of the tea coming you get hit in the neck thousands of times, boxing, sometimes things spill out of the ring and 70 gets a chair through the mouth. it happens a lot, and that is part of what happens when you go to a live sporting event. baseball it does happen more than other sports. but they have already extended the netting almost every single team has done that. perhaps you can extend that more and i am willing to have that debate, but you can't have some sort of missile defense system where they can knock out a fly ball or a foul ball the minute that it hits the bat. you just have to live with these things. and it is sad, but that is life.

we have to keep up with juan. but you are already hurting your eyes by looking at the screen. enter a posture. it is making you angry and can get you fired. there is a lot of risk. so go to a baseball game. >> dana: do you think that twitter helps at all for enhancing a reputation? >> katie: a reputation? i think it can help depending on the way that you use it for brands to increase their reputation or to use it in a certain way. it is a tool. if you use it in a bad way, it is bad. if you use it in a good way it can be beneficial. the reason why they are saying that it is substantially undermining your intelligence is because it requires a knee-jerk reaction to information. you are not really diving in and thinking about the consequences of what you are responding to. it is emotional. people are saying things that they would not say to you in person, they will say it online. like anything else it is a tool

that can be used for good or ba bad. >> dana: this study, juan, twitter reducing performance on a test by about 25 or 40 percent from the standard deviation result. >> juan: we are all in agreement here, i think that you have less likelihood to really think about what is in front of you, you are skimming. you are having quick emotional reactions as jesse said. and to me, a lot of this has to do with people who are distracted. or lonely. so you're looking at twitter and it is something to eat up your time and make you feel connected, and this is the primary illusion of social media in our age. it makes you feel like you are really connected to what is going on. what is happening. in fact, you are more disconnected from what is going on. you are not engaged with real people. you are not engaged with real ideas and challenged, you get locked into your bubble may be even more than a bubble, it is a jail cell, because you are following people who often times

are of like mind. i don't think that helps you to grow or think or come to an insight. >> dana: it says that the decline was sharpest among higher achieving students including women, do you believe that? >> greg: so it is sexist? twitter is sexist. >> dana: now we can delete it. >> greg: it is an illusion of social interaction that replaces real interaction. so it is actually -- what do they called ads? it is a double cost. it's like you are wasting time, but you are also losing something. there is a for that. >> dana: opportunity cost. but you are gaining something with opportunity cost. >> greg: that is what i was looking for. >> juan: the hard part for me is that the illusion is oh, i know what is the latest. >> dana: i know people and i have all these friends. it is a total disconnect when we go back to politics for a second, that you see the polls showing, joe biden's way up in the polls, but actually that is not what it says on twitter.

politics sucks when it sinks into places that should not be. it can be helpful for the message to debate ideas rather than picking up clubs and beating each other to death, all of the energy gets turned into arguments. it is ugly but necessary, but decades ago, the reliance on politics got out of hand when the left said political was personal and vice versa. now it rears its ugly face at football games and superhero movies and award shows. and we are sick of it. which is why "the five" teamed up with john rich to write a song with one piece of advice, shut up about politics. it is only great if you keep it in inn's box and separated from all the fun stuff in life. it is great on "the five," but not at the baseball game. so shut up about politics, may be the greatest political song ever made, we are hoping that it will be the last political song ever made.
