buckingham palace in a few hours to meet with queen elizabeth. kevin cork joins us live from london. good morning, kevin. >> reporter: great to be with you guys. a cool and windy welcome to the u.k. for the president and first lady over in stanstead, but no less of a warm welcome from british officials as they made their way down from air force one. they say it is a state visit and as you can imagine there is a great deal of anticipation for the president's visit, coming to the u.k. at a time of change, not just change in the relationship between our two countries but also change politically for the u.k. the prime minister, theresa may, will soon be stepping down. unlike a working visit, there will be more social events to tell you about this time around. undoubtedly there will be plenty of warm reminders of our historical and cultural ties. thrill with be a heavy dose of today's reality. the u.k. of the present is

divided in its opinion of the american leader. in 2018 there were big demonstrations both pro and anti-trump. we expect more of those today. now, the anti-trump movement appears to be stoked in part by the layer of london, sadiq kahn. he wrote in an op ed that theresa may should issue a powerful rejection not of the u.s. as a country but the office of the presidency but of trump and the far right agenda he embodies. the president responded. he said sadiq kahn who by all accounts has done a terrible job as mayor of london has been foolishly nasty to the visiting president of the united states, by far the most important ally of the united kingdom. he's a stone-cold loser who should focus on crime in london, not me. so there you have that. meanwhile, road closures will be the order of the day here in london. with those demonstrations that we talked about. also, official events taking precedent including the visit to buckingham palace. one more nugget i want to pass

carley. you might be paying more for avocados and tequila in the near future. it won't end there. top officials will start meeting in a matter of hours. the tweeting this yesterday, mexico is sending a delegation to talk about the border. problem is, they've been talking for 25 years. we want action, not talk. they can solve the border crisis in one day if they so desire. among the meetings you've got mexico's economic and foreign ministers sitting down with wilbur ross and mike pompeo. if the meetings are unable to reach a solution, mick mulvaney says the president means business. >> he's absolutely deadly serious. i fully expect these tariffs to go to at least the 5% level on june 10th. the president is deadly serious about fixing the situation at the southern border. >> reporter: if they don't stem the situation at the mexican

border, he will increase tariffs until it reaches 25% in october, that will be quite a summer with a trade like mexico. it could jeopardize ratification of the new nafta deal. one senator says he doesn't see it happening. >> i don't think the president is going to impose the tariffs. he's been known to play with fire, not live hand grenades. if he slaps a 25% tariff on mexico, it's going to tank the american economy. >> reporter: mexico's president tweeting a reminder over the weekend, saying mexico is the american people's friend. it will be interesting to see how border states like texas react. mexico is their largest trading partner. carley: thank you so much. so will the president's threat of tariffs finally make mexico act? rob: acting homeland security secretary, kevin mackalene says mexico must step up and do more.

>> we have a situation that we must address in partnership with mexico. a group of 1,036 migrants walked across the border in an organized movement out of shelters. nobody on the mexican side stopped that. we have people moving all the way up. there are natural choke points. the movement is overt. it's happening on commercial bus lines that are owned and controlled by cartels. we need mexico to do more. the crossings are happening on a 1150-mile stretch of the border. this is a controlable border. we need them to be stopped before they make the route to the u.s. carley: mexico's president made it clear his government has a plan if tariffs do take effect but remained optimistic, tweeting we want nothing or no one to break our beautiful and

sacred friendship. rob: the president called out russia over deadly bombings in syria. the president urging three american adversaries to stop the violence ahead of the state visit to london. the president tweeting hearing word that russia, syria and to a lesser extent iran are bombing the hell out of the province in syria and killing many innocent civilians, the world is watching this butchery, what is the purpose? what will it get you? stop. the u.n. says 200,000 people have left the area since the air strikes began in april. the situation in syria continues to deteriorate. a north korean official believe to be sentenced to hard labor is spotted out with kim jong un. this is a picture of him attending a concert with the dictator. a south korean newspaper reported the former nec negotiar was sentenced to forced hard labor after the failed summit with president trump. the report was never confirmed.

carley: the husband of a missing connecticut mom and his grennegirlfriend are due in cout today. they are charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. jennifer dulos has been missing for more than a week. court documents show she was in a custody battle over her five children and she was afraid her husband would retaliate with violence. police are searching a property owned by the husband's company. students and teachers paying tribute to 12 lives lost in the virginia beach massacre. the city school's superintendent inviting everyone to wear blue today to signify the beach and the color first responders wear when they rush towards danger. one dozen people were killed on friday when a worker at a municipal building opened fire on colleagues hours after handing in his resignation. the motive is unknown. president trump paid respects to the victims during a sunday church service in virginia.

carley: a fox news alert. here's a live look in london at the winfield house where president trump is expected to arrive any moment. rob: there he is getting off the plane a little while ago, air force one arriving in london about an hour ago, the president kicking off a crucial three-day state visit to the u.k. what can we expect? carley: here to weigh in is the

director of the margaret thatcher center of the heritage foundation, nile gardner. the president is a brexit supporter. will his presence in london at this critical time have any influence in terms of negotiations and the future of the country? >> yes, i think president trump's visit to the u.k. is a high impact visit in terms of british politics, the future of the special relationship but also especially the future of brexit and president trump has already weighed in very significantly on the brexit issue. of course, president trump is a huge supporter of brexit. he's a big backer of britain leaving the european union. and he has made a number of statements already in advance of this trip, saying that he believes that britain should walk away from the e.u. without a deal, if the european union does not make major concessions to great britain of. he's also said that britain shouldn't pay a penny of the

$50 billion demanded by the european union to leave the e.u. unless the e.u. offers a very good deal to britain. of course, e.u. is has not issued or offered a good deal for the british people. i think that president trump's intervention is having a big impact here on the ground in london and you are already seeing many of the contenders to take over from theresa may as british prime minister strongly backing what is known as a no deal brexit, unless the e.u. makes concessions. i think that british politicians echoing what president trump is saying, president trump is very much i think in sync with where the next generation of conservative leaders are here in the united kingdom. rob: let's look at who is up in contention to take over theresa may's job. we've got a list here. borris johnson there top left and then jeremy hunt and you move along there, dominic groff. i think this is almost in a way

some of these conservatives are anti-brexit and some voted to stay. some voted to leave. is this almost like another referendum on brexit based on who wins this election? >> i think it's significant that most of the leadership contenders, and there are about 15 of them at the moment are strong brexit supporters and even those among the contenders who voted against brexit in the referendum, almost all of the candidates are supporting brexit right now. and i think the big issue within the conservative party leadership contest is the issue of a no deal brexit. that's the dividing line. borris johnson and some of the leading brexiteres are calling for a no deal brexit if the e.u. doesn't offer a good deal for the united kingdom. that is the clear dividing line and president trump is very much making clear his own views on

this and his view is that a no deal brexit is better than a bad deal. i think the president is absolutely 100% right on this. a bad deal, a bad brexit deal is not in britain's national interest and britain will do just fine under a no deal brexit and britain will be able to move forward with signing free trade agreements with countries across the world including with the united states and president trump certainly has offered the prospect of a massive trade deal between the u.s. and the u.k., between the world's fifth largest and largest economies. carley: so this state visit is all about highlighting the bond between our two countries. but the president is walking into the u.k. where there are massive protests taking place, some lawmakers including jeremy corbin said they're going to boycott this big dinner that's also going to be taking place in the country. how will this negative tone potentially impact this whole meeting, this whole massive meeting that's scheduled to take place over the next three days?

>> yeah, i think there will be some protests on the treats of f london. i think you'll see them the largest extent tomorrow morning. i think the protests will be somewhat limited in scale. you're not going to see hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets of london. and i think that these protests are led by the far left, the anti-american far left. they're backed by the socialist leader, jeremy corbin. backed by the absolutely awful london mayor, sadiq kahn who has a a far left agenda for this city. sadiq kahn is a deeply unpopular figure in the u.k. at this time and president trump called out sadiq kahn this morning in a tweet, describing him as a stone cold loser. i think tens of mil millions of would agree with agree these will be far left anti-american

wrong moments before a cruise ship rammed into a tourist boat in venice, italy. the ship's pilot alerted officials to a total loss of control aboard his vessel right before the crash happened. the accident has renewed calls for a ban of vessels in venice which is known for tourist attractions and cruise ships because they cause heavy traffic in those cay nails in venice -- canals in venice. five people were hurt in this incident. look at the size of the ship. one american was among the five hurt. carley: more than 300 boeing planes could have faulty parts that could fail or crack. the faa revealing problems with wing parts which create lift during a takeoff and landing. more than 60 of the affected planes are in the u.s. they include those grounded max jets, the next generation model currently in use. airlines have to make fixes

world comes to the country he basically encourages people to go out onto the streets and protest. i think it reflects badly on our country. rob: farrage's brexit party won a victory in the u.k. election, receiving the largest percentage of votes. carley: lorrie laughlin's case is back in federal court today. laughlin and her husband are accused of paying $500,000 so their daughters to get into usc. it's unclear if they will be in court in boston today. both have pleaded not guilty. if convicted n. could face up to 40 years in prison. rob: 2020 hopeful cory booker doubling down on one of his biggest campaign promises. if you vote for him, he'll give you free cash. >> it's about time we target the creation of wealth equality for all children in america. my idea to do that is something

display. this is a community joe biden needs to win over in order to become the democratic nominee and so i'm not sure how his strategy of sort of lying low and doing only the events he really wants to do is going to work out for him in that way. at the same time, though, i'm not really sure that he can win over that crowd ultimately and i think that it's still early enough in the process that you could see one of these progressives to his left break out and really give him a run for his money. rob: it does almost feel like biden in a way has already moved past the primary, has almost assumed he's going to get the no, ma'am names. -- nomination. like we saw, he's in ohio, that's where you go when you need to win the election. he's a little ahead of himself, isn't he? >> i think he's trying to put himself out there as the presumptive frontrunner. recall jeb bush's moves during the republican primary and by putting himself in front of the
