todd: carly switched her shoes so today i am somewhat taller, thank you. we have serious news to get to. thank you for watching "fox and friends first". carley: heather has the day off. let's get to the fox news alert, a man is under arrest for plotting to throw explosives at people in times square. according to the new york daily news the unidentified suspect was arrested by the fbi, described as a little fed will be in court later today. there have been at least four fail the tax against times square since 9/11. todd: a captain isis fighter over the us-mexico border, the international center for the study of violent extremism reports he was supposed to be brought from puerto rico to mexico before being smuggled into the continental us.

goes back and forth when you make the goods. it is going to throw sand and a lot of gears. there is so much domestic pressure on donald trump, very few people like the idea of using a tariff that is the deleterious to the us economy on a foreign policy issue that the mexicans feeling he is being unreasonable in their demands are going to try to let domestic pressures force come up with a compromise. we consider this issue. we went to seal the southern border at guatemala for migrants from three countries but yet we don't seal our southern border

when those migrants get here because of what the courts have done to donald trump. people come across the border and have to be released to the population within so many days because they are carrying children and we can't put them all in detention camps. we don't seal our border but we are demanding they seal their southern border. that is a very powerful situation. we are imposing a tariff on a free trade partner that hasn't broken the free-trade rule. it is not like china. we have a deal like that with canada. if they made themselves -- these people across the border would not be able to ask for asylum. they are resisting that. carley: some analysis saying

400,000 us jobs would disappear if trump activates tariffs but donald trump is tweeting the higher the tariffs go the higher the number of companies, who is right here? >> they are both wrong. over the next 6 months to a year we are not going to lose 1000 jobs over a 5% tariff. >> tariffs will increase to 25%. >> that is something else. then you start to get into heavy stuff but the us economy is vulnerable for other reasons. this is something we have been nervous about apart from the threatened tariffs. everybody's mother-in-law will -- this is like the steel tariff. tomato growers in connecticut sarah lost tomatoes because the steel tariff. a lot of corporate leaders are liberals and like to blame trump for everything that happens including affairs frost in the morning. todd: we will see if the

in the dominican republic as a couple describe similar symptoms when they stated the same hotel last year. jillian: the couple is now suing. >> reporter: they say they were poisoned by pesticides and the proof is in four other debts at the same resort. on may 30th, and engaged couple, were found dead in their room. cause of death respiratory failure. 5 days earlier, may 25th, a pennsylvania woman, miranda warner, collapsed and died at the same resort. her cause of death respiratory failure. last june another pennsylvania woman, 50 one-year-old event monique died at the same resort. or official cause of death listed as a heart attack. a fifth american, david harrison, died of similar causes one year ago although he died at

taking their eye off of the possibility the terrorists and others with much worse intend are using that flow of migrants. it is a problem we need to look at. todd: i heard expert say this is all about the funnel. these border agents are distracted in one area and there is no wall, it prevents that funneling of everybody into one check point, where the evaluation could be more stringent. explain more about that. >> our southern border is long. to cover the entire thing with the number of border patrol agents we have is impossible. there is no way we couldn't possibly look at all of the places. if you do a physical barrier, put a wall or sensors or things that stop people crossing in the vast majority of areas then you don't have to waste border patrol agents time looking at those areas.

you can look at the likely illegal crossing areas and put more focus on the large number of people forced to go to the legitimate crossings and a few places where they are trying to defeat the system and sneak across. carley: the washington examiner came out with a report that tsa is allowing migrants to board flights without proper documentation. one line stuck out to me, the tsa was unaware which document security officers require migrants to board these planes, tsa didn't know but who does? how are these migrants getting on a flight? >> reporter: and why are they going on these planes? a grandmother from des moines leaves drivers licenses at home, she will miss her kids graduation. why do we have migrants we have

no idea who they are, whatever documents they have, a piece of paper from the court that says they came to the southern border with no identification. they said they are from somewhere, told us i have a credible fear and called me to apply for asylum and the court gives the document saying that is reasonable. come back in 5 years and we will give you a hearing and we are allowing these people to get on a plane when the rest of us are taking off our shoes and doing the kabuki theater of security is absurd. todd: we need to emphasize this for the folks watching at home. the three of us go to the airport, we need to have a drivers license, these individuals, piece of paper. it is that simple. >> that the problem. the court doesn't know who they are. they give them that piece of paper but they haven't validated their identity. the same isis guy planning to come across, if they catch him
