in orlando. a massive crowd cheering as many waived american flags and thousand people stand in a big line hoping to get a seat at that rally. some of them arrived 40 hours early. the hill's media reporter says the rally shows what the 2020 election will bring. >> we were told to dismiss crowd size, they didn't gauge enthusiasm by the candidate, told to listen to the polls instead. the fact that people were there 40 hours before the event, 20,000 people in orlando and the enthusiasm we saw in a key state like florida that tells us 2020 is going to be an extremely close race and the president has not lost one vote from what he got into thousand 16 in those key states. rob: the trump campaign held a block party -- couldn't get a seat inside.

look at polls. even in the end you can't always necessarily look at the polls. look what happened in 2016, the presidential prediction between hillary clinton and donald trump when they went head the head they had hillary clinton winning it. what do you think of what the polls are saying? >> polls can be misleading but we have great candidates on the democratic side. this country has things that we are not proud of. democrats are not. i heard them say trump, african-americans are doing better now than ever before under his presidency. that is a fallacy. we are doing well because african-americans have the wherewithal to do what is needed and this trajectory of low unemployment started under the obama administration and trump gave the largest tax increase in

the country but two of this tax increases started under president obama because he had to rebound is from the craziness under president bush. before we start taking credit about what donald trump has done, president obama started the trajectory that donald trump is benefiting from. we are going to -- jillian: an argument on behalf of the democrats but as it is now look at what the president is doing for that. another topic before we have to run. let's talk immigration for a second and listen to what the president had to say last night. >> the ultimate act of moral cowardice not one democrat candidate for president has stood up to defend the incredible men and women of ice and border patrol. they don't have the character, the virtue, the spine to do it.

that he was able to move the needle back to the republican side so the thing about these polls, polling is reflective, not predictive. it might tell us where the race is if it were held today but it is not. candidates run campaigns, i think trump is in a great position to win these critical state in 2020. >> we've all seen these polls that even bernie sanders beating the president by a pretty wide margin which shocked a lot of people, last night the president pulled out something like 20,000 people to show up for the campaign relaunch along the critical i 4 core door. look at joe biden at lunch for president and he got 6000 people show up and the numbers, that is pretty dramatic. what do you make of numbers like that as far as enthusiasm? >> joe biden should revamp his

campaign slogan, vote for meh instead of vote for me. the crowd sizes matter. it is a reflection of intensity of support and it will be problematic for joe biden in the primary coming in states like iowa and others where it is about motivating your base to the polls. it shows it is a tight state like florida, might be at the margins, being able to turn out your base whether it is hot or rainy. rob: if 2020 candidates, you see biden has them by 10 points but what people don't understand is you still have to show up and vote. at the end of the day you can win with a very low approval rating if all your people show up if they all come out in november. >> you are totally right. one thing we learned in 2016 is voters can have a certain level
