get there. jillian: that moment griff was referencing is on the cover of the new york post. a moment where the candidates were asked if they were in favor of healthcare for illegal immigrants. they all did. rob: every single one on the stage. senior advisor, this is his big plan, medicare for all for illegals as well, single-payer, a bold strategy and i ask what did you think of every single person raising their hand for illegal immigrant healthcare? >> it is a disgrace in america we have 11 million and i committed people living in an underground economy. bernie was clear last night, we should have healthcare as a right and not a privilege. while we are subsidizing medical and pharmaceutical companies and letting the rich get more rich we have 30 million people off of healthcare, that is not right. jillian: there has to be a plan to pay for that.

that's a lot of people. people who should be here legally. >> the plan is get rid of this tax cut that only gets rich people tax benefits. taking my tax dollars and giving them to wealthy people. if we focus more on that instead of vulnerable people fleeing and dying in the river with babies, we would be better off. rob: 90% of the people in the country got money back in a tax-cut. the party keep saying it only went to the rich but everybody got some money back. when you look at this plan, you have 1 million people you're crossing into the country illegally they don't want to kick them out, they want to give them health insurance. it is not realistic in a lot of ways, dramatic tax increase on everybody. >> we can't let people demagogue and criminalize people fleeing for their lives to come here. they are here getting payroll

taxes and social security. this president hit one against the other and that is not true, not at all. i have been here. i went to homestead yesterday and saw little children kept behind a fence. that's not right. that's not the america i want and that bernie sanders wants. jillian: we agree to disagree on that. rob: you saw bernie did good last night. your biggest loser of the night, you thought biden had a rough night and gillibrand. tell us why. >> a lot of people -- i was in the hall last night, the energy was palpable and people would be coming after joe biden and kamala harris did not disappoint. i think he had a tough time defending his long record. anytime you've been in congress that long and voted on that much stuff you have to defend that record. as long as democrats concentrate on each other's record that would be a good thing. we need to distinguish the

history of where these people voted and that was a big determination between bernie sanders and biden when they talked about the war. jillian: the candidates discussing donald trump. the first night, 19 minutes and 24 seconds spent discussing the president. last night it was eight minutes and 27 seconds. regardless of the time do you think it is the best idea to go after the president versus telling the american people who you are and what you are about? >> that is a great point. think of this in two contexts. the same problem republicans had during the primary, two distinct different electorates, democrats need to vote for them in a primary. in a primary you have to get a whole group of people who don't vote in either of the primaries to vote in the general. you saw what you saw last night and you will see people continually calling donald trump on his policies because he needs to motivate, they need to motivate, she needs to motivate people to shop in the democratic primary. rob: your candidate was given

two chances to explain how he could successfully implement this policy after one of the moderates pointed out it is only successfully working in small countries and states that tried to implement this failed to do so because of the tremendous expense. bernie didn't have an answer and was asked twice. tell us why. >> medicare is one of the most popular policies out there. if we can figure out how to give millionaires and billionaires all of my tax money we can figure out how to give healthcare to poor children across the country. it is as simple as that. rob: the bluest states in the country gave up because it is too expensive. how do you do with 30 million people? >> you've got pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies who don't want it to happen so they spend millions of dollars, they made billions of dollars less than to make sure none of those policies pass through statehouses. handing out one of the dollar bills at the statehouse, sometimes they don't go through.

rob: bernie had two chances to answer that question and couldn't do it and he has been talking about this forever. jillian: do you think the majority of the american people are going to vote for a presidential candidate who is going to take away their health insurance? >> absolutely. because they are paying so much in premiums. when you go to the doctor you have to pay a $500 premium. jillian: your taxes will go up to pay for them. >> absolutely but your premiums will go down. i can figure that out and i am sure the american people can. you will pay less. rob: lowering the cost is part of the platform. it seems there are a lot of details for bernie to not have those details after all the time -- we do appreciate it. your guided have a pretty good night, he does seem authentic but has some questions to answer. we appreciate your time. >> thank you all. rob: bernie did admit last night

insurance through their employer, 75% of the cost, under berniecare you have to pay it all through higher taxes. with that whole panel, they don't like to tell you all the things they want to do, free tuition, free healthcare, free this, guaranteed personal income like they have in europe, the europeans have 20% value-added tax on top of high income taxes. the typical european can't afford to do much except ride the subway in paris and go to the doctor in paris at this time. likely to be unemployed because it is so expensive to hire people. this is going to be a terrible burden on working americans, back to the old lessons won. there is no such thing as a free lunch. bernie sanders is the pied piper. this is the greatest hoax we've seen perpetrated in many decades.

things, a good relationship and look forward to spending time together. >> they discussed arms control, iran, syria, venezuela and ukraine, points of contention between the united states and russia. tomorrow the president is scheduled to meet with chinese president xi jinping is the us and china are in the middle of trade fight they are threatening to escalate. the president said it will be a productive meeting with no sense of what the meeting might produce. the trump administration has impose tariffs on 215 on $215 billion of chinese imports into the united states and on track to put tariffs on the rest of china's imports, $300 billion worth. the president is in no rush to do a deal with the united states, opening its markets and stealing intellectual property. back to you. jillian: thank you very much.

is there a possibility with that experience, growth and better decisions could be made going forward or is that not the case? >> joe biden's experience is a series of bad decisions and that is why anybody who says about donald trump here is a guy who is not a foreign policy expert, doesn't have any experience the counter point is look at joe biden. joe biden is not only bad on the fight to take out islamic radicals threatening the united states and threaten to destabilize the middle east again but he is bad on larger issues. he was opposed to president george bush withdrawing the united states from the a the them treaty that would prevent the united states from building the missile defense system we have today at which donald trump supports continuing to expand developing countries like north korea and iran developing these missiles that can reach the united states so again and again on issues on american security putting american interests first, making the country and military much stronger joe biden has been terrible in every issue.

>> we get excited about great summits, we want some sort of action item agreed upon. we should lower expectations, that is unlikely to happen but it would be great if we could get the talks jumpstarted again and have donald trump and xi jinping talking again. it is good that donald trump has been unwilling to put anything on the table. there are reports the chinese want to the united states to guarantee we weren't going to put tariffs on again and that huawei should never be a negotiating chip for the united states, great danger to the united states security. as china puts these demands, it is right for donald trump to say we are not going to negotiate. rob: could china change the behavior they use? it benefits them so much, the change could be detrimental for their economy. how do you get this done? >> it is going to take a long time which is -- you want to have grand moves with each

administration but something every american president for the next several decades has to work on. we have moved into this era of great power competition. it will be on trade, military, allies, relationships. one thing i'd love to seem do is shifting to the second part of his first term, he has been hard on our allies. i would like to seem rewarding the allies are doing a great job, japan is a great ally to the united states. trade is important with japan but it should not override the security benefits they help us with especially regarding china. anything that would be knew that would come out of this, the press would coverage it would be donald trump is a great ally to have in that he is rewarding and affirming allies doing their fair share and carrying the burden for the united states. jillian: we appreciate it, we are coming great back.
