tv   The Ingraham Angle  FOX News  August 19, 2019 7:00pm-8:00pm PDT

7:00 pm
and that would be the spying on americans and a presidential candidate and a president that they outsource to our allies to circumvent u.s. laws? that will be the big story that's coming. let not your heart be troubled, we will never be the media mob. there is a laura ingraham, you and tucker are off all week. you know what they said to me? you can't be gone because laura and tucker are gone a week. did you vacation together or what happened? >> laura: i want to see how clued in you are on mystery quizzes. i will reveal the answer at the end of my show. but i wanted to ask you, a friend that i was with, you know, a great old friend. a couple friends and i went out for a mini reunion. we are at a restaurant and we spot someone across the room at
7:01 pm
a bar, okay. i'm going to give you three initials, and they might be jumbled up. here are the initials. clp. but they might be jumbled up. >> sean: will you have to give me the initials. >> laura: i want you to think about it. text me during the show. >> laura: i want to see if you get who it is. but -- i might have had to restrain you if you are at the place, that's all i can assay. i need you to text me. >> sean: what i might, in kindergarten? >> laura: up like a long, it's my first day back. >> sean: i hope you had a good vacation. and by the way you should have been it in-n-out burger. double-double animal style,
7:02 pm
boom. >> laura: we will talk to you soon, make sure you text me. i am laura ingraham and this is "the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. it's good to be back and we have a jam-packed show. my ankle will come a little later in the show when i will tell you how the democrat media apparatus in this country are rooting against america. and i will employ what i call the three rs. plus, we exposed the violent left with a journalist who came face-to-face with portland's antigua mob and assist congressman steve scully's on shocking mock assassination of donald trump by state lawmakers supporters. also tonight knew details about the final days of jeff epstein which raises more questions about his suicide. plus we bring you a report on how california's biggest cities are confronting. we talked about this before. we've called this the crisis.
7:03 pm
yes, you heard that right. but first we want to explore with the current democrats identity crisis today is. we will get to elizabeth warren's apology to the native american community in just a moment but, we want to start with the latest drama surrounding a pair of squad members. a line omar and receipt of clave are dragging democrats into defending more of the anti-semitism after they were denied a visit to israel last week. not because they can't let the latest slight go without holding a press conference, complaining and whining about it, they took the stage in minnesota to condemn not just trump but israel. >> the decision to ban me and my colleagues, the first two muslim-american women elected to congress is nothing less than an attempt by an ally of the united states to suppress our
7:04 pm
ability to do our jobs as a fish elected officials. denying visits to the duly elected members of congress is not consistent with being an ally. it's not consistent with being a democracy. it's unfortunate that prime minister netanyahu has taken up a page out of trump's book and even direction from trump to deny this opportunity. >> we are taking our last brea breath. >> so will the democrats be asked to rebuke these horrid comments? of course not. instead they are actually thinking of punishing israel, and defense of the pro-israel boycott congresswoman. of course they weren't done, they went on to live out the
7:05 pm
purpose of their own trip. >> contrary to many media reports and the directly within members of the israeli security along with civil security groups, former idf soldiers, israel, palestine and international organizations and united nations officials. >> laura: now according to their own published itinerary, this is a lie. further the trip was planned by the anti-semitic horror show of the pro-terror organization that once referred to suicide bombing as a sacrifice for the cause. so are they going to ask the democrats anything about this? joining me now, dr. auch mehta, members of the council and fellow at the independent women's forum, associate dean and director of the simon
7:06 pm
wiesenthal center. dr. augmented, what is your response to what these congresswoman said today? >> what you are seeing is a full-blown islamist propaganda. these are mongering women who unfortunately have been elected to congress but are using every tool in the playbook of the muslim brotherhood of islamists. first, they demonize the jewish people. second they eradicate the jewish nation. there are agenda, their proposed meeting was a congressional delegation to palestine. not even mentioning israel. now that israel has called their bluff, now they are claiming victimhood. the role of victimhood in islamism is absolutely central because they want to appear that they are under siege by their words, and oppressive superpower in the united states. their own government, and oppressive israel so called,
7:07 pm
this is exactly the islamist ideology and it should be -- it's just -- i wish we were not giving them as much oxygen. >> >> laura: this now dovetails into our conversation, rabbi, about how they tar and smear people with impunity. a lot of people on the left to do, and we call them out day after day on the show because i'm dedicated to doing that but they are especially and unit seems to criticism themselves. what they smear netanyahu and say, he's oppressive? somalia isn't but they are? okay. >> i think we could look at this into ends. the problem started when the heads of the democratic party didn't put these anti-semites in place early on, when they started spouting their hatred
7:08 pm
for israel and supporting bds. giving them the impression that it's open season for them and working on a different set of facts if you will. if she was interested in meeting a broad spectrum of palestinia palestinians, that's what they did. the israelis blew it because they said yes first and then flip-flopped. be that as it may come up there is another critical issue here and that is that the palestinian authority has a rule of no normalization with israel or the israelis. if there were ever to people that could have changed that and busted through, those will be the first two muslims elected to the united states congress. instead they march in lockstep with those individuals.
7:09 pm
>> laura: and that is a valid point. it's easy to be upset and angry about the political islamic approach and it's kind of instinctive. but you are right. they could be change agents. >> they could be if they were pluralist muslims. and they are using islamist tactics to invert reality. they are seeking a grotesque holocaust envy. just hear me out on that. that's the mark upon the jewish people that is the membership of. it's -- you can -- victimized, and while they deny the
7:10 pm
holocaust and the existence of israel. this is why you are seeing this, there is nothing genuine about these politicians. i don't care whether they are democrats or republicans. the question is, where is the speaker of the house? where is speaker pelosi to not just reprimand them silence and marginalize them? that's what i'm upset about. >> laura: i'm saying that about a lot of people. it's ridiculous. >> if i could just bring up a personal example of what's happening as we speak, i'm involved with the small group of israeli, and myself to create a medical center right between bethlehem and hebron. the only catch is that they have to treat all comers. i've met with some very impressive senior palestinian
7:11 pm
people in the medical field. they are all excited until they hear two things. oh, you mean you are going public with this? you're not going to hand this on a platter? the whole mind-set of the psychology, of the nonnormalization, it hurts the palestinian people more than anyone else. and guess who is leading the charge in the united states? >> if i could just interdict very briefly, having raised money in israeli institutions, muslims, and christians work together and treat patients together, the families eat together. that is the reality of israel that is falsely portrayed as an apartheid. so these women are operating on a false construct that they are absolutely disgracing the american political structure that we have here, whatever anyone's political fish comic affiliation is, and they are doing great damage.
7:12 pm
>> laura: and they are carrying themselves as victims. rabbi cooper, this is what -- one of these wonderful young women set about their relationship with the jewish people. watch. >> i have a huge constituency. and you know, every time i meet with them they share stories of safety and sanctuary that they would love for the people of israel. >> it's a mainstream -- look at her and understand that she and her cohort are walking down a
7:13 pm
path and hurting the peace in their own communities. we want to thank you so much. today senator elizabeth warren took the stage at a native american event to apologize for pretending to be part cherokee for decades. just last year she proudly showed off the result of her dna test that proved that she did have a trace amount of native american ancestry that now she said she's had a change of heart. >> like anyone who has been honest with themselves, i know that i have made mistakes. i'm sorry for harm i have caus caused. i haven't listened and i have learned a lot. >> laura: where does harvard go to get it salary back? and during her apology tour, her team removed the results from the website. all that's left is the web page
7:14 pm
error message. joining me now is twyla barnes, cherokee a genealogist and someone who called out warren in the past. does this put it all to bed and it was genuine and it's a good deal now. >> none. she said she was sorry for the harm she had done, she didn't name specifically the harm she had done. so it's just an umbrella, generic apology. there is no -- she didn't point out that she's tried to define this as a race and undermine trouble, could tribal. 's sovereignty. she didn't point out that she's had local cherokees, attacked,
7:15 pm
she's just blanketed it and done enough. >> laura: when she goes up there she announces a bunch of policies about tribal sovereignty and other measures that she said will help the indigenous people but maybe i'm just and cynical. it seems just really pathetic. she goes and does that big dna test and that perhaps was one of the more embarrassing political moments, and there are so many in this town, of the last 20 years. i mean, she had 164th-11 thousandths or so trace of indian blood and now she is all these months leaders sorry for it? i still don't get it. >> while the thing that upsets me about her platform that she has recently released, and her appearance today, she's been in
7:16 pm
the senate for six years and if she really wanted to enact the laws that she felt would benefit native americans and protect native american rights, she would have active acted on it previously. suddenly, it became a priority to her when she decided she was going to run for president. and so that concerns me, as well as her -- i feel like they were very soft on her today at the native forum. >> laura: yes, let me just play this. there is a funny moment at the very beginning when the moderator introduced her. i will let the audience decide whether this was a resounding welcome for the formally claimed cherokee senator, let's watch. >> it's a wonderful day and native americans across this country should celebrate, a day, today, that we are sharing the stage with a future president.
7:17 pm
i would expect more excitement from our native citizens. >> laura: begging for applause, twyla. >> is in his as he said future president i had to take a break. there were no cherokees on the panel. >> they didn't have cherokee is on the panel, which they pointed out online is a huge omission. in a moment, the angle reveals how the new democrat party with the media's help of course is kind of just rooting against trump. but they are rooting against america in the process. stay with us
7:18 pm
7:19 pm
7:20 pm
>> laura: it rooting against america is a focus of tonight's angle. now for two years we had to endure the democrats russian obsession. formally sensible liberals had convinced themselves of the president was working hand and glove with prudent to ensure trump's 2016 election. trump's reckoning they were confident would be delivered by
7:21 pm
the highly respected prosecutor bob mueller. in other words, the 2020 election would be give me for any democrat. well of course, that fell flat. so the crestfallen democrat decided to go all in on the race issue. now the angle told you this would happen and sadly, we were right. using bogus charges of racism, the left has a goal of blunting any momentum the president may have with the minority voters in 2020. the president condemned white nationalists remember in charlottesville. and he did so after el paso. but to listen to the left, he has a goal of what, running around with black face letting crosses on peoples lawns? >> i believe the president of the united states is racist. >> you have a toxic brew -- >> it's time to get nationalism out
7:22 pm
of the white house. >> laura: that's disgusting. and now they are going after the american voters themselves. >> do you think it's a racist act to cast a vote in 2020? >> at best it means looking the other way on racism. >> laura: the new democrat playbook requires the relentless demonization of american history including the founders and now, the american people themselves. at least those who support trump. it's no exaggeration to say that the new rabid left means that, and that keeps the race to the bottom going. absolutely pathetic but entirely predictable the democrats staked
7:23 pm
it all on the two rs. and now the third r, recession. it's official. the post-2016 ally and their media allies are now actively cheering for one. >> he is not right. the recession doesn't mean it's a crisis but if you are sitting president, you don't necessarily want a recession on your watch, you want people to feel good. that's economic expansion that for the better part of ten years, it's about time we get a recession. if we did face a recession, it would be normal and it would be okay. it would feel normal.
7:24 pm
the fact is america's economy under president trump remains the strongest in the g7. >> are you going to be correcting your administration's plan with the possibility of a recession? >> president trump: i don't see a recession. >> that is now crafted i don't think we are having a recession. >> laura: still for now most economic signs aren't remained solid. the unemployment remains at a near 50 are low and consumers are optimistic. u.s. retail sales figures out last thursday showed that they jumped in july by the most in four months. but nevertheless, the hope of a recession is all the democrats and the media can cling to.
7:25 pm
despite warnings by many economists president trump and his advisors are vigorously downplaying the risk of a recession. >> the growing concerns about a looming economic downturn, president trump and his top aides are busy swatting away the r word. nobody is rooting for it but if you look at all the data i was talking about, china is slowing down, and germany is slowing down, the u.k. is slowing down. >> laura: news flash germany is in recession. we are not. if obama were in the white house under similar economic metrics to what we have now, these same reporters and analysts would be crediting him not condemning him for being too optimistic. and this could be my favorite piece of all. from a "washington post" reporter called andrew van dam, a recession is coming. but despite this week's warning signs we have little idea when. it could be eminent or the
7:26 pm
economy could chug along before the heat death of the universe. translation, we can't really predict but let's speculate to scare people anyway. and that there is this beauty of a headline from that acclaimed journal of economics "rolling stone" magazine. how cynical by the way, and sad, for the once mighty party of jfk and pat winningham. getting back to the democrats, i don't expect them to agree with what the president does on most issues but occasionally i do expect them and their media friends to have some integrity. cheering against america is always unseemly. and yet the democrats have a lot of practice in doing just that. white nationalists freaks are
7:27 pm
poised to roam polling places with torches. republicans want you to see that america is overwhelmingly a good country that is made phenomenal strides thank goodness in race relations. economic employment prospects are better today than they have been in 50 years and while economy is always a future possibility, our fundamentals are better than any developed country on the planet. and by the way you'd never know it watching the trade war in the media, but we are still exploiting more today than we did under obama even with the strong dollar. rooting against america, referring to millions of voters as deplorables or racists, that sick not the language of a calm, confident optimistic party.
7:28 pm
trump and his supporters believe america's first. how sad when others seem to be happiest when it's america last? and that's the angle. coming out, we expose the violent left first. mass antifa the to thugs attack a journalist for doing his job. plus a democrat politician stated a mock fascination of president trump. congressman steve scalise will tell us why there is no laughing matter. next. if i met another veteran, and they were with another insurance company, i would tell them, you need to join usaa because they have better rates, and better service. we're the gomez family... we're the rivera family... we're the kirby family, and we are usaa members for life. get your auto insurance quote today.
7:29 pm
7:30 pm
7:31 pm
>> laura: hundreds of masked antifa thugs descended on oregon over the weekend. the camera still captured some pretty shocking violence from the roving bands of bully bullies. to liberals on the mainstream media though they were just people exercising their constitutional rights. >> it's not surprising that trump would slide away from the folks who were the peaceful protesters working to safeguard at their city from domestic terrorism. >> the idea that this was going to turn into a massive violent
7:32 pm
protest, that did not happen. >> he said those peaceful protesters -- tell us about what you saw that even may be the video couldn't capture the weekend. >> thank you for having me on. on one hand there was a narrative from the mirror, ted wheeler, and what he did say is that the police were not going to get involved when the illegal activity was taking place. including stopping traffic and throwing concrete, that's throwing a hammer at an
7:33 pm
individual who only tried to use it as self-defense. he got away with all of this and then the police stepped in. what you are seeing is a man being stomped on and, that took them going out to police personally to keep this alive. they were not intervening and it looked as though the city was complicit with the violence. >> laura: this is what mayor wheeler said about how it all went down. >> we were preparing for and planning for a worst-case scenario and i'm very pleased that at least so far this did not happen. i'm grateful that this was a peaceful event. >> was that footage an aberration or was it that while the raucous and violent for most of the time?
7:34 pm
>> was absolutely interesting about this is, the mayor is like every democrat politician out there saying everything is peaceful when they were not there. if we put this video footage online you can leave this up to the blue check mark to begin to accuse me, you doctored the footage and you lied to. we actually put up more footage with three angles, and it's hard to lie in three different angles. we'd still been accused of lying. they are denying the video evidence. i ran right past the device, right past the bbc who were busy filming useless peaceful demonstrations while the real news was taking place again. it's also because they are ignoring the truth. the sad thing is, the left is saying, it's a lie. >> laura: this crazy. they are denying reality. we just got through talking
7:35 pm
about the reality of the econo economy. pretty good fundamentals, but they ignore that. if the crowd of boys, they were running most of the violence and then they would probably cover it differently. correct? or was that group throwing humors? >> that's what's interesting. the first altercation i saw was a citizen journalist, pretty heavy set and looked all file in general and he walked up and started filming. they began to pepper spray him and they walked and surrounded the camera. i watched as the right-wingers, they gathered and they left. the demonstrations continued for up to four hours after the right-wingers left. if they wanted to fight the right lane, why didn't they
7:36 pm
disperse once they left? instead they attacked stan byers. >> laura>> laura: elisha, we wik for that on the youtube channel. thanks for being there and we are glad you are okay. it's been over two weeks now since the horrific mass shootings in el paso and dayton. one democrat didn't think twice about promoting anti-trump violence. illinois state senator marcos sandoval is apologizing for what his supporters were doing. they were staging a mock assassination of president trump during a fund-raiser over the weekend. now the democrat atoned once and was called out, calling local media. it was unacceptable and i didn't condone violence toward the president or anyone else. i apologize that this happened at my event. here to explain why it's no laughing matter, congressman steve scalise. you nearly lost her life to a would-be assassin. so what your response here, did the state senator acquitted
7:37 pm
himself well in his apologetic comment? >> it's good to be back with you. i'm glad the senator at least owned up and took ownership and said it was wrong. what disappoints me is you don't see any kind of outrage from the left. you don't see any kin presidentl candidates from the left. or socialists who are fighting to see who's going up against donald trump. you don't see any of them denouncing it and that's really why where it should start. the leadership at the top of the democratic party has been noticeably silent, and the big take away from this is, they are encouraging it and they are okay with it and it's dangerous. they need to stop and, we surely disagreed with a lot of his policies. we respected the office and stood up against anyone is that anything derogatory or negative. and those were many cases where we were very vocal against that
7:38 pm
kind of language but we were respectful of the president. if you don't see that coming from the left. you hear the presidential candidates speaking up against it. >> laura: all we care about is the president's language, the president's tone. he's encouraging violence. they are using his language and they are going up and doing all these horrible things. so you hear a lot of that. when the left actually does stuff, it's funny. kathy griffin's decapitated head of the president. remember that, that and then this shakespeare in the park where they did the mock killing of president trump. we talked about blowing up the white house, that was funny i guess and that was a laugh riot at the women's march. and now this. so who is really encouraging the violence here? and then not condemning what we just talked about, antifa. antifa continues to hurt innocent americans and yet we have still not called it a
7:39 pm
domestic terrorist organization. >> we need to step up wherever it's coming from. it's wrong either way and you don't see the left condemning it. and he's creating opportunities for people. all of those, he says the lowest unemployment african-americans and in the state of the union you see all these democrats sitting down and standing up and applauding it. and regardless of that, he's fighting for them in rebuilding the middle class. they disrespect the degradation, and literally are dragging up this anti-inflammatory violence
7:40 pm
kind of rhetoric and it's got dangerous consequences. >> laura: speaking of, i want to play something that was said tonight on cnn. and, the greatest terrorist in this country are white men. white men who think like you. >> the greatest terrorist threat in the country, white men. that goes to the point i was making. final thought? >> their drumbeat of everything is racist and everything -- donald trump is fighting for them and all they are doing is trying to accuse them. they are talking down to the economy like you are talking about earlier. they joined georg george bush, d
7:41 pm
every single quarter, less than 2% growth, he doesn't talk about that. he talks about what he's going to do, people that are left behind it, and, do you think the democrats are cheering for the recession, some of them at lea least? >> they are baking for recessi recession. the the fact that we end the americas have had the hottest economy. they should pass usmca by the way. the only reason that hasn't happened is because he nancy pelosi hasn't brought it back. >> that's a great point.
7:42 pm
coming up, new details on what jeff epstein was doing during his final days. new questions about how he died, next. rs for effective, non-addictive relief. salonpas lidocaine. patch, roll-on or cream. hisamitsu. back then, we checked ...zero times a day. times change. eyes haven't. that's why there's ocuvite. screen light... sunlight... longer hours... eyes today are stressed! but ocuvite has vital nutrients... ...that help protect them. ocuvite. eye nutrition for today.
7:43 pm
7:44 pm
>> laura: new questions tonight and this mysterious death of jeffrey epstein and what he did just two days before he died. trace gallagher is live in our west coast newsroom with more. >> keep this in mind, he died,
7:45 pm
committed suicide on august 10th and on august 8th he signed as well. it turns out jeffrey epstein was worth more than $577 million including 56 million in cash, 200 million in real estate and another 200 million in equity is. experts say for now everything goes to a trust although his trust is being sued by a multitude of his alleged victims including two more women whose filed suit today. the buck stopped at the acting director of hugh hurwitz. because of the prudence breakdown and mistakes and violations, attorney general bill barr has removed horowitz as acting director and demoted him to a different position. epstein's lawyers are bowing to push forward with their own independent investigation into his death. the lawyers don't accept the medical examiner's suicide ruling and say epstein was imprisoned in medieval conditions. "his safety was the responsibility of the mcc. it's indisputable that the
7:46 pm
authorities violated their own protocols. finally fox news has learned that a charter boat captain says in 2006 he took 217-year-old girls paris parasailing and they were staying on epstein's private island. >> laura: this is the start of a school year for many families across the united states and it should be an exciting time for kids and their parents. but some schools are undermining parents in a new and extremely disturbing way. on the first day of school near but modesto, california, a teacher handed out a worksheet asking kindergartners about their gender identity. it's called the gender unicorn. in a chicago suburb, usa today column writes that his of autistic daughter's school encouraged her to identify as a boy. my next guest went through a similar ordeal with her son at rutgers university.
7:47 pm
all disclosure, she's not using her real name tonight if that tells you something about this. joining me now is crystal lopez. your son told you that he was transgender but what happens when you ask rutgers questions about this? >> they basically told me that they were not required to look into any of his underlying issues so i could not find out if there were other mental disorders that were triggering this thought in my son. and when i asked the therapist to help my son feel comfortable in his body, she said that that was considered conversion therapy and that was illegal in new jersey. so the only thing they could do was to continue to affirm my son and lead him down the path of transition with hormones and surgeries. >> laura: did your son indicate before going to school
7:48 pm
that he had these feelings, that he was uncomfortable in his own body or his own skin or thinki thinking? >> never. as a child he never showed any signs of feeling uncomfortable. this is why i question this, because if it was something that he experienced as a child, it would have naturally come out. at the age of 19 he decides that he is transgender, after watching hours of youtube videos and talking to people that encourage him. so they can tell me that he is just not, he's not. that's something else that's triggering this and no one will help him find out what it is. >> laura: what does he say to you if you don't mind my asking? he's an adult come 19 years of
7:49 pm
age. under any state law -- the problem is, a lot of parents are writing to us saying that their children's identity is being performed for them in some circumstances. this is the way a lot of parents feel. instead of allowing them to develop oneself full maturity which many researchers say isn't until 25 for most kids. have you reached out to any other parents or any other groups that have confronted the these issues? >> yes. basically all of our kids are saying the same thing. they tell us that they've always felt like this. they say, we just didn't see it. but i'm his mother. i raised him. if i saw something, believe me. i would have -- i would have noticed. so he can't tell me that this was what he was all along and
7:50 pm
all the other kids are saying the same thing. >> laura: it's a very tough story and we appreciate you being here tonight. we have a lot more to get to including the california nightmare that's unfolding. you won't believe what's happening now. and i was just there for the last ten days. don't go l away. memory support brand. you can find it in the vitamin aisle in stores everywhere. prevagen. healthier brain. better life.

>> i know a number of people who have full-time minimum wage jobs but still have to live in tents because the cost of affordable living is a ridiculously high. you are making exactly what you need to pay your rent but that's not all you need to survive. statement that from a former resident of l.a.'s skid row and a fox digital exclusive. and then there's this headline in "the wall street journal." california's biggest cities confront that crisis. lawmakers ban plastic straws is a far worse kind of waste lines of streets. charles kessler, professor at claremont college. charles, i was just in both l.a. and san francisco and a bunch of other places in california and i can just say, you are 100% right
7:54 pm
in what you wrote in "the wall street journal." people think we are exaggerating. this isn't an exaggeration, this is a health crisis that the political leadership which happens to be democrats cannot solve. or won't solve. >> did you watch where you stepped i hoped when you were out there? >> there's a reason why i don't take my shoes into my home or where i'm staying or at friends houses. >> it's an amazing thing because the governments of los angeles county, san francisco in the state are spending unprecedented amounts of money. they will spend 5 billion additional dollars and there's 10,000 homeless in san francisco
7:55 pm
in any given night they are sleeping outside. >> is a piece in the "l.a. times" and you have to pay some of their rent. you might have seen the piece. it's kind of a cycle of drug abuse, mental illness -- some people make it, which is great. but this is a problem that should really have a bipartisan solution to it but instead we are feeding into it. and that is being erected outside of cities and vagabonds.
7:56 pm
it's not a crisis, people were not using the bathroom on the streets. but our homeless are a very different kind of homeless, it's a different problem than it was in the 1930s. as you said, our homeless have been institutionalized. often they are needles by the way handed out by local government agencies and charities just like local charities. >> it keeps getting worse and worse. this is such a disturbing problem. thank you for writing this pie piece. up next, the big reveal, who i saw in beverly hills
