investigation, maybe even disclosed the existence of a crossfire hurricane operation, which could potentially have gotten back to his ultimate employer, hillary clinton and the democratic national committee. raises some real concerns about the control of information that the fbi had when working with steele. >> sean: we are putting it up on the screen. christopher steele's confidential human source reports on the fbi, 53 housets intel interviews, the stefan halper documents, october 2016 fbi email chain, page, papadopoulos, exculpatory statements. how did they withhold exculpatory statements, and then end up going after, in the case of papadopoulos, put this guy in jail, when they had information that he -- as i understand it -- that he would consider it being a traitor if he-- ever colluded with russia. the gang of 8, we talked about that at length, the steele spreadsheet, when they finally started looking at the steele dossier, what did they

find, john? >> they found that 90% or more of it cannotot be verified and s wrong, or was simply internet garbage hearsay from the internet, really indicates -- >> sean: they have the spreadsheet? why did they discover that 90% of this was garbage? >> they began in october/november vetting it, and by april they abandoned it because there is nothing to relieve that. >> sean: we have the october initial fisa warrant based on the phony, clinton-bought-and-paid-for dossier. it says verified, but they didn't investigate it, and they found out when they did investigate it that they oucouldn't verify, and that was how many months later? >> six, seven months later. and here's a very important point:. some of the testimony the house members got, the house intelligence committee and the dig year a committee, jim jordan's and meadows died last year, people were talking about the process of adding the

steele dossier had begun after are simultaneously of them already going to the court. the cart and the horse were backwards, the fbi hadn't vetted what it was representing to the court as verified, very troubling, and it is the sort of stuff we are going to learn a lot about in the ig report and in the barr and durham investigations that are forthcoming. >> sean: what are we going to learn from the steele interview? we know in an interrogatory he said, i don't know if any of this is true, but it was used as the basis for four fisad warrants. >> he was very careful to say it was unverified, 50/50 chance it might be true or not, which isn't very good intelligence. we may learn what he told the fbi -- listen, he was telling the state department with kathleen kavalec, i'm leaking to the media, i'm desperate to get trump not elected president. i've got a political deadline of election day to get my information leaked out. i'm talking to the media -- he is divulging all of the stuff, all of the things the fbi has claimed, at least anonymously in news stories, they didn't know about. i would like to know what christopher steele said heew tod his handlers before his dossier

was used to support the fisa. >> sean: last two. the redacted sections, the third renewal, the third renewal application, there are redacted sections, and number ten, the records of allies assistance. that would be, if i'm wrong, tell me, the outsourcing of that which would otherwise be illegal, of spying on a campaign, donald trump, on a transition donald trump, on a president donald trump. subcontracted out to our allies, italy, great britain, and australia. because they were circumventing american laws on the one hand, but also, we have one of the redacted sections of the final warrant. >> the final warrant, there is a strong possibility that information is misidentified or misleading, intentionally misleading to the court. may have been represented as new information that was actually very old, and there may have been serious exclusions about those exculpatory statements

that were not mentioned in that fourth and final fisa warrant. that is the one rod rosenstein signed, and i think we should keep an eye on it. the one devin nunes has driven hard for disclosure. there is a reason why he wants that public. >> sean: the fact is it was unverifiable information from the get-go, and they all support, so that would be, premeditated fraud on a fisa court. there were multiple warnings before the initial filing of the first application. john solomon, what is the likelihood that all ten of those things are going to be pretty blockbuster? >> i think all ten are going to be blockbuster. whether they all get released, i don't know. what i'm certain of is these have been essential documents to the ongoing investigations, ig, durham, barr, congressional inquiries that continue on, anda everyone who has seen them says they will change everything you know about the russia case. >> sean: great investigative report, investigative reporter john solomon. so, in 2016, at the very height of a presidential election, you have multiple trump campaign

officials spied on by our government or other governments spying for our own intelligent people so they could circumvent the laws against spying against americans. then we have premeditated fisa fraud, to spy on americans and the opposition party candidate, that would be donald trump. everything trump transition, everything donald trump as president. and we have an ex-spy, foreign spy, all funded byby hillary clinton, receiving unfettered access to the justice department, state department, even paid by the fbi, atvi one point, to spread his anti-trump russia lies, misinformation, propaganda, against donald trump. they never verified it. you are supposed to verify it. while christopher steele might be at the very center of the biggest abuse of v power, corruption scandal in history, well, obama and biden were at the very top. now, according to former u.s. attorney andy mccarthy, when you have a counterintelligence investigation, that never happens, unless it's with the direction of the president of

>> well, sean, what i'm saying, not other presidents sits there and directs that there be counterintelligence investigations. what i'm saying is that, unlike criminal investigations, counterintelligence investigations are done for the president.nl the only reason to do them is to inform the president with the information he needs to protect the united states from a foreign threat. they are not like criminal investigations in that regard. so, in principle, the information from a counterintelligence investigation is for the president, and here, we know at various junctures, we have actual, factual information that this investigation was well known to president obama. >> sean: okay, so, if he knew -- and this is all happening -- he had to know about it from the get-go. doesn't that also imply that he would have been updated on this, if he is the one that leads the national security decision-making? >> sean, if things are working properly, the president should

have been alerted about it and informed about it, it was a very important investigation. if they actually believed what they were telling the court, that it was a possibility that donald trump was actually a plant of the kremlin, it would have been derelict on their part not to keep the president informed. >> sean: you know, sara, as we have been able to unpeel the layers of the onion, it goes right into the office of then-president obama. nobody has asked president obama, what did you know, when do you know it? are we at that critical juncture where that now will have to become a question that is asked, perhaps under oath? >> absolutely. president obama should answer these questions. remember, sean, this is about the weaponization of the intelligence community. i go back to the very beginning, with the unmaskings. this was a counterintelligence investigation. just as andy mccarthy has stated. it wasn't a criminal investigation. and as andy mccarthy has stated, as we have stated before, if they believed president trump, as they stated, was a manchurian candidate, the

president of the united states at the time, barack obama, would have been informed of this. by john brennan, by james clapper, by others within the intelligence apparatus. this was so important, and this is such a linchpin right now. all you have to do is look back at some of the text messages between peter strzok and lisa page, the fbi special agent and his lover/lawyer, and how they talked about, you know, he wants to be informed. they tried to explain that away, as it wasn't president obama, but we know better than that. also, look at some of the emails that susan rice sent to herself. she sent emails to herself in january, before they left office. >> sean: she did it on inauguration day, didn't she? i would call them cyas. very good point for you that's right. >> sean: andy, you work for the

southern district of new york, probably the most prestigious prosecutorial group. you were able to get a conviction in the first trade center bombing. my question to you, is there anyway we can get to the fulll truth without interviewing or interrogating or asking barack obama what he knew and when he knew it? >> i think, sean, that is probably the last thing you want to do. you want to get down, get all of the other information, just like we said when the issue of interviewing president trump came up in the investigation. you have to be able -- if you want to interview the president of the united states, you should -- >> sean: not president anymore. >> well, but we are talking what activities that happened wasld president, and that he still has some privilege with respect to under american law -- >> sean: why would i suspect he won't be -- just guessing. >> we'll see.

will be soon answered. >> sean: senator, i read in the nunes memo and the grassley-graham memo, the bulk of information for each fisa warrant was the clinton-bought-and-paid-for dossier. okay.nt we know, in fact, the fbi and doj -- everyone was warned at least twice, once by bruce ohr, once by kathleen kavalec, you can't trust it, it's unverified, clinton paid for it, and steele hates trump. but they used it anyway. then we find out, we just discussed with john solomon, they never corroborated any of it, and when the fbi finally got around to it, around the time of the third renewal, the second or third renewal, they realized -- this is basically all, total, 90% plus b.s. why didn't they know that when they signed the first warrant? or did they, and that means it's premeditated fraud on the fisa court? >> what would be ugly and damning if you could prove that the document they used to get

the warrant, without which there would be no warrant, was not verified until later, that they put no effort into verifying the document before they gave it to the court. they panicked. hey, we've got to figure out if this thing actually is true. i want the chart disclosed to the public. i want to tell the truth, nothing but the truth. i want to tell the story. i want to declassify everything that we can declassify, so the story tells itself. here's what i think. i think they put no effort into verifying the dossier until after they got the warrant, and when they tried to verify it, they came up with a dry hole. they are investigatingri two people here: papadopoulos and carter page. i bet you donald trump did not spend 10 minutes with both of them.al >> sean: i could guarantee it. did you see the gang of 8 briefing materials, where the fbi identified all the shortcomings of this narrative in 2018? the summer of 2018?
