as we begin our discussion let's bring up a map of sanctuary states. there are ten states and the district of columbia that are considered sanctuary states. do you think this put citizens in those communities, legal citizens endanger? >> it does in danger communities but these jurisdictions the don't cooperate with ice are in fact making their states, towns, jurisdictions more dangerous. you have people who come to the country other here illegally and went on to create other crimes in those communities and the police -- >> these people are accused of violent crimes as well. one case we were discussing happened in maryland. this is ice's statement on detainers where pursuant to ice

policy all ice detainers are submitted with an administrative arrest warrant or warrant of removal depending on the circumstances of the individual case. >> ice wants to take them into custody, safer for the individual, safer for our officers and makes communities more safe. ice was constituted after 9/11 to protect the homeland and part of the authority they have to exercise is to take people who were in the country illegally and get them removed. >> this individual was arrested for rape charges after posting bail. why wouldn't it be common sense to do that? >> don't know why we want to have a sanctuary for criminals in these communities and in this
