rob: safe spaces crucial to promote intellectual diversity on america's campuses, one university president thinks so. jillian: carley shimkus with fox news 24/7, siriusxm 115, good morning. >> good morning over safe spaces to taking up steam after college president defended them in a new york times op-ed, wesley university president michael s. roth writing this, we must promote intellectual diversity in context which people can feel safe enough to challenge one another, students should be able to participate and argument and inquiry without threat of

harassment or intimidation, while roth acknowledges that safe spaces could result in counterproductive coddling, they ultimately do more good than bad, not everybody on social media agrees. one person says these kids are in for a rude awakening, there's no safe space in the real world. any university with safe spaces is truly a misnamed nursery that is overcharging but hailey on twitter went to wesley and she says this, she graduated in 2001 and she says wesley taught me not to shy away from difficult challenging versions but to approach every encounter from a perspective of compassion, i think that compassion in and of itself can help create a safe space for everyone. so ross understand the criticism of safe spaces but they need to fight back which sort of puts safe spaces into a safe space.
